Negative experience: Edit to add that our property owner fired this company after only 8ish months so my following review I stand 10 toes down on - my father and I did meet with one employee after my initial review and that did go well. Owner didnt show, shocker - 2 short months later and thats a wrap!! This has to be the most unprofessional, unorganized, incompetent "property management" company in New England. For the last 6 months our complex has been under their management. EVERY MONTH our portal says rent has not been paid and is past due. It has never not been paid on time. It says our due date is the 1st and we provided documentation that it has ALWAYS (for over 10 years) been due on the 7th. July's rent was dropped off over 3 weeks ago and the portal still says rent was not paid. Only to find out they can not find the check now but failed to report that. Just left it in the portal as past due. No real office to get a paid receipt when dropping off. Drop box only. Want to pay online? Fee! They make it impossible to have direct human contact with clean and clear transparency and transactions that post in a timely manner or provide proof of payment. My parents who are in their mid and late 70s are trying to adapt to the change of this "company" since the passing of our landlords and it has been 6 months of disaster and incompetence. I am very seasoned in working with property management companies and know the concept of them are great, I also know this one is HORRIBLE. To be clear the now property OWNERS are great people. We just wish they would consider a more competent company to handle our money and everyday living needs.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough great things about Jessica Mekal and her management company. She manages my property and has been absolutely amazing to work with. Jessica is professional, responsive, reliable, and always stays on top of everything. She handles any issues quickly and keeps me informed, which gives me a lot of peace of mind as a property owner. It’s hard to find someone you can truly trust with your investment, and Jessica is definitely someone I trust. I highly recommend her to any property owner looking for dependable and professional property management!

Fantastic experience: Very thankful for this management husband with them for 2+ years and can’t complain whenever I need something they will be on top of it !!!

Negative experience: Beware of maintenance fees such as landscaping, lawn mow, snow removal etc. This can cost you hundreds to thousands of dollars even though your front/back yard is tiny and does not require periodic maintenance. The invoices are poorly made and maintained which is very hard to track so that we can avoid any duplicate charges. Even months after closing our account with them, they keep sending invoices.

Negative experience: Dont answer phones, dont return calls, emails address listed gets redirected to a non functioning email address. After 7 days and 15 phone calls someone finally called just to tell me email there non functioning address. We have 4 apartment houses they ignore every Tennant request, all they do is cash checks and ignore service calls, took over 48 hours to remove snow from walkways town ordinance is 24 hours. Avoid doing any business with this fly by night management company. 5 straight days of calling till the first call back. First 5 times I emailed it was redirected to a non functioning email address. You did not respond to my emails at all Every single one of my emails was redirected to a non functioning address But ironically you very promptly responded to emails from our lawyer. And you also responded very quickly to a negative review on Google but felt the need to drag your feet actually calling someone back.

Fantastic experience: Mekal Management is very responsive and professional. Having worked with Jess and her team as a buyer, an investor, and as a contractor, their organization, friendliness, and knowledge in their field is above and beyond.

Fantastic experience: We’ve lived at our property for quite some time, and Jessica from Mekal Management has truly been the best property manager we’ve ever dealt with. When she took over, she walked into a bit of a mess—ongoing issues that had been ignored by the previous manager and a lot of frustration on our end. Jessica didn’t shy away. She sat down with us in our living room, listened carefully to our concerns, and asked for a little time to work through everything. And she kept her word. Every issue we brought up was addressed quickly and professionally. Our rent was never raised unexpectedly, communication has always been open and honest, and the entire property is better maintained than it’s been in years. The hallways and common areas are consistently clean, and you can tell she takes real pride in the job. We also live in a difficult area, and since Jessica took over, we’ve felt noticeably safer. She’s quick to fix any safety concerns, which was never the case in the past. That peace of mind means everything. As for Jennifer, the maintenance coordinator—I can't say enough good things. Jessica definitely has the right person in that seat. Jennifer is responsive, incredibly kind (even when I’m frustrated!), and always keeps communication clear between us and the maintenance team. She works with us on timing and follows through to make sure every issue is resolved in a timely manner. We are truly happy with Mekal Management. If we ever have to move, we’d love to have them as our property managers again. They’ve made a huge difference in the quality of our home and overall living experience.

Negative experience: Attempted to contact this company multiple times, through multiple means (Zillow, Trulia, email, and telephone) to inquire about a rental property. ZERO RESPONSE! If this is the type of response that tenants will receive, I would think twice about renting any property from this management company. Likewise, if this is the way Mekal Management responds to prospective tenants, I would hesitate to engage their services to manage any rental property.

Negative experience: Refuses to communicate with potential tenants, even when they’re following her instructions. Left multiple voicemails, had multiple people trying to contact her about a listing and Jessica couldn’t be bothered. Ghosted us after paying to apply. Save your money, find a private landlord that won’t lie and scam you.
