Fantastic experience: Recently I sold my third house in Charlottesville and used a realtor for the first two. Thought I’d save money and sell the third one myself, because it is easy, right? So, I thought. I ventured into the FSBO market and discovered there are LOTS of rules and some of them are legal ones you cannot take for granted. Then there’s the showings, advertising, following up, keeping track, etc. All while trying to retire and move from one state to another, oh and throw a total hip replacement into the mix. Something had to give, and it was me trying to sell my house. Enter the fabulous Michelle Gregory with Howard Hanna (HH). I worked with her husband as a government employee and knew she was a realtor with HH. However, as a bonus, she informed me that HH is very committed with assisting federal government and military families with finding the perfect home, that they return 20% of Howard Hanna realtor fees back to the seller. I would have gone with HH on my first two sold homes if I was aware of that. Not only was the check I received a couple of weeks after closing awesome, working with Michelle was also fabulous. It was a total relief when she took over everything associated with selling my house so I could focus on the next phase of my life with retiring and moving. She was very attentive, maintained communication throughout the whole process, and has a fun personality which makes her very easy to work with. I honestly would say out of my prior experiences, working with Michelle was the best.

Fantastic experience: There is no better Real Estate professional or person than Mike Peters. He is a hard worker and beyond trustworthy. You just cannot do better than Mike.

Negative experience: If you don't have an expensive house so they can make good money, you probably won't get a call back. I didn't AFTER they found out I'm just a 250k sale.

Fantastic experience: SOLD! Barb Kelley had our land listed and sold in about three months. I've heard it said, "It's hard to sell dirt" but Barb made it happen! I understand that many folks feel they don't have the time or the vision it takes to build... however, this can change given the right property. Barb’s excitement and dedication to our listing was just what was needed to stir real interest. I really appreciated that I was kept well-informed throughout the listing period and the purchase. I think it’s good to mention– the sale of our land had some complicated details that Barb navigated through beautifully! I highly recommend Barb Kelley. Fantastic experience: Byrd is not only a great Realtor, she also has contacts with individuals who facilitate in getting a great mortgage, and with lawyers extremely knowledgeable in all the matters required for a smooth closing. In our case we were thinking of buying a lot, and building a home to suit. Byrd showed us a number of lots to meet my requirements of having at least 5 acres with a great view. However, at the time the lot I was looking for was not on the market. Byrd then provided a list of homes for sale, which had the requisite lot with an existing home based on the requirements we specified. Byrd is a great listener, she takes your requirements, and provides a shortlist of appropriate homes so that your time is well spent. In our case our current home was the second on her list, and we decided to make an offer in under ten minutes. By the time we returned to her office, she had had her staff put together an offer, and she had contacted a bank, where we had approval for a 30 year mortgage at 2% in less than five minutes. The mortgage was not contingent on selling our existing home, so we had time to organize the move to suit our needs.

Fantastic experience: Byrd (Abbott) from Roy Wheeler was my very first realtor, and the only one I needed to find my first house--the same one I am still in that I love so much. She spent a whole day driving me around to 8 different properties based on some ideas I had and that she had suggested. Of course, it was that 8th house we saw that ended up being "the one." Byrd was so easy to talk to, share info with, and work through the process with. I highly recommend working with her and Roy Wheeler Realty!

Fantastic experience: I lived in rented apartments in large cities throughout much of my adult life—until the age of 72, when I bought my first house. Byrd Abbott was recommended to me as a real estate agent by my downstairs neighbor, a Cville native who had known her since the first grade. Lucky me. Ms Abbott listened to what I wanted, and found it. We began to look at houses on Friday; by Sunday night, not only had she shown me precisely the right house for less than I thought I’d have to pay, but she had also made a successful offer for it on my behalf, for an amount rather below the listed price (“Look: do you want to sell this house?” she asked the agent of the seller, whose house had been on the market for several years). My new house is one of a set of a dozen relatively new places at the end of a dead-end street in Cville. Ms Abbott mentioned in passing that over the past decade or so, she had help sell six of them. I recommend her without reservation; I love my house.

Negative experience: I came in here to see of we could get realtor services. I used Roy wheeler a very long time ago and their services were great. This time, we felt a bit discriminated and judged . When we entered I didn't see anyone started to say hello as I was next to a door where we could hear someone typing it was a five or six time hello is anyone here call for help before the person actually showed face to tell us to go around the corner where another woman would help us. We turned the corner and Noone was there. We were about to leave when another woman came out and was like can I help you. I said yes we are looking for a realtor, I even stated how I loved working with Roy wheeler a while ago. She looked at us laughed and said well here's the deal I have only one realtor here today I will give him a call and see if he is able to talk to you 2 ladies. As I stood waiting by where we were taking the lady looked at me and said you can have a seat now . So we went and sat down she proceeds to go dial on the fone and then instead turns around and says oh u know what I think imma just go upstairs and talk to him myself. we were like hmmmmmm cause the service was already feeling funny. She proceeds to walk upstairs to tall to the said realtor u could hear her so we also heard when she paused and where we felt that they were whispering after the pause she said so do you have time to talk to these to girls who are down stairs to which we could hear the realtor respond with just a straight NO. Pause then NO again then proceeded to to say something else we could hardly hear. We just up and left walked out didn't say anything and were feeling really discriminated against in a silent way. I feel that they can give people of any walk of life better professional services than what we were given. The feeling that they gave us with their unprofessional service left us feeling funny and strange when we should had walked out with an appointment and if not at the most with a smile. I feel their services are not the same after merging, that or they can get better people who can give better services at this realty company.

Negative experience: Worst experience working with one of the agents. She lied about what she had said in previous discussions, she had no attention to detail which greatly hurt negotiations, she constantly talked down to my husband and I as well as other people we were working with, she had no respect for our wishes or our situation. This agent should not be in realty or any customer service type position. I will be sending an email to the broker, but do not waste your time or sanity with this company if this is the caliber of people they have working for them.

Negative experience: Easily the worst agents I've ever experienced. I've been trying to buy a place in Scottsville for a month, can I get a call back? NO! Now I am going to get my OWN AGENT upping the cost to the seller, and I'm going to lower my offer by 50k. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CARE AT ALL IF YOU SELL YOUR HOUSE! 30 DAYS NO CALL BACK!

Negative experience: I tried renting a home from Adrienne Masterson, who ended up terminating my contract before I moved in. Not to be outdone, she kept my first months rent and failed to return my initial deposit for over three months. She's nothing more than a cheat, liar, and despicable woman. I can't believe she has any affiliation with your company!
