Negative experience: My experience applying for a property through Bissette Realty in Wilson was very frustrating and unprofessional. Before submitting my application and paying the fee, I asked if there were any other applications already submitted for the property. I was told no and informed the process would take about 2–3 days. After waiting and not receiving any updates, I had to keep calling myself just to get answers. When I finally spoke with Kaitlyn on May 28th, I was then told another application had already been submitted and the property was no longer available. This was upsetting because I feel like I was not given accurate information from the beginning. Had I known the situation beforehand, I would have never paid the application fee. What made the situation even more disappointing was being told my fee would not be refunded, and then being told to simply find another property so they could transfer my application. That is not fair because the original property was the reason I applied in the first place. They also stated the listing had been updated online, but when I checked, the property was still showing as available. The entire situation left me feeling misled, frustrated, and disappointed with the lack of communication and professionalism throughout the process. People spend their hard-earned money on application fees while trying to secure housing, so honesty and transparency should matter.

Fantastic experience: This is a very good company to rent from! My very first apartment alone & any issues that I have they come right away to fix them. Had someone come in the snow just to fix my pilot for my heater when it went out. I will always recommend them first to rent through.

Fantastic experience: Great company and very responsive!

Negative experience: I went to this place for a house, on dewy st.Got turn down with no explaination why.Paid $50. So went back add my wife name, paid another $50..Keep in mind, noone got the house sign still in yard.. If it was taken why would you let me pay another $50 right.. then the young girl tell me oh you want approved for that house, but you can choose another one house..Really. Ok wait go back saw another apt on beyler st. Went for the key, sign in yard, she said somebody already got it, this is on your rental list n sign in yard. I rode around n check for 3 days guess what sign in yard . How do they choose where you live.. But we looking more into this cause its not right . $100 and no house.

Negative experience: If I could give negative stars I would! This company tells you they have no applications for a property, takes your money and then tell you it’s been rented. Called several times and they gave me the run around weeks before telling me that the property was rented. I asked how was it rented and I was told no one else had applied, I was then told other people turned in applications and they don’t do first come first serve. But instead they randomly pick applications. What kind of mess is that?! Avoid this company at all cost! They will take your money and tell you nothing else!

Negative experience: Why is it I’m still paying the same amount but our yards are being mowed way less and very badly… there is one black gentlemen my neighbors and i see 24/7 busting his butt, while two young teenagers race on the lawn mowers, ride all over the place with two of them on one lawn mower like a toy. They come in different vehicles , I’m not sure if they are different companies or what. But it is day and night the effort that is put in. We pay way too much for just the pool and yard work for it to turn out like this. They have ruined concrete/sidewalk,ruining our yards … how is that 1.) fair to us 2.) fair to the guy who we see EVERYDAY breaking his back. He is so sweet and does such a great job, even by his questions about how he is cutting bushes, etc you can tell he really loves his job and cares about what he does and wants to do it right!! I have photos involving the lawnmower incident (the riding on the same one and racing, but as i assume these have to be late teens/ young adults, will not post for privacy. But happy to show to an employee should this issue get resolved) The only reason i have provided any stars, is for the pool and the guy who does such a great job, i hope that is being noticed.

Positive experience: Hello everyone my names Mr. Jones I used to be a tenant with Bissett a couple months ago and rented from them for 3 years I enjoyed my place but what I LOVED MOST is when I had a issue that needed to be resolved they came to the rescue QUICKLY …..so just know if you become a tenant with BISSETT I have HIGH HOPES that you will be taken care of (MS. AMANDA& MS. KATRINA) very friendly helpful and informative individual and I really appreciate them ❤️ MUCH THANKS BISSETT

Fantastic experience: Good people!

Positive experience: They are top 3picks as a landlord, but not as a tenant. If you make 3x rent have a credit score 640 plus and NO past then yes. If you have all that then why not purchase a home? Most lenders are willing to lend to you with a 600 score & don't really concern themselves with 3 years ago, 5years ago...So you decide what you are looking for, along with paying them for your time of putting In a application. As it's NON Refundable...Good is Most of their properties are in good areas!?!

Fantastic experience: They took over my lease two years after I moved in and have been a tremendous help with fixing issues the previous landlord refused to fix. In 2018 I had forgotten to pay the rent one month and on the following month when I got the money order, I realized I had not given them the previous money order. I was so embarrassed that I had forgotten to take it to them and I was surprised I was not charged a late fee, but because the money order was dated for the previous month on time and with the receipt, they understood it was an honest mistake. However, since covid/2020 I have had many issues getting them to make repairs. My house had been taken over by black mold due to leaking pipes within the walls. It took 3 different plumbers to fix the actual problem but then mold kept growing back in my bathtub. I cleaned it with vinegar and peroxide repetitively yet it kept coming back. So out of fear of being evicted by puttung in another work order, I removed the odd borders in the tub to discover there was absolutely no insulation or waterproof sealant. I repaired the tub by myself because Ive called them to come out twice for a leaking ceiling and although they sent someone to repair the roof, the leak persists. My ceiling finally fell through so I currently have it criss cross taped with masking tape and a big bucket under it at all times. The following photos show the condition of my bathtub through the process of me repairing it. I cant get on the roof to use tar or replace the chimney flashing so there's no point in fixing the hole plus I cant do drywall so the hole persists.

Negative experience: If I could leave no stars I would , I have called about 20 times to get my septic tank emptied , but long story short I came home to my septic system being so backed up after a rain that it flooded the whole back of the house with god knows what coming out of the septic system , ruining cloths , dressers , all bathroom stuff that we had and countless other things , on top of all this we had 2 broken windows when we moved in , and after 7 months of living here and calls frequently and nothing has ever happened and our storage building has been slam full of trash from previous owner and we have called and complained about that and now it is invested with rats and god knows what , will be calling health department tomorrow and taking this issue to court

Negative experience: I was interested in a vacant rental property of theirs. I called to inquire and was told the previous tenants had just moved out the prior week and that applications were not gong to be accepted until the property was doctored up and posted on their site. I am now being told that the property is rented and no longer available. MIGHT I ADD --- The house IS NOT done being worked on nor has it been listed... I would not be upset at all had I been told the house was already spoken for the first time I called... or the 2nd time... or the 3rd,4th, or 5th time.... They obviously play favorites and place tenants according to favor. Who knows who type of company.. However, I am glad I missed out on the house after seeing these reviews!!! Absolutely horrible... Love the house but the company itself is obviously CRAAAAP! PS. No issues with their assistant. Very nice and impressionable. Its moreso their ways as a company that I have an issue with... MY ADVICE - SEARCH ELSEWHERE IF POSSIBLE!

Negative experience: Rudest people. Ever!!!! Find somewhere else.

Negative experience: Words to describe this "establishment" rude, condescending and outright distasteful. Sometimes i wonder where did they hire the employees from. a bar in the middle of no where. Never have i ever delt with a company so hostile. Its to the point i am afraid to give details on my many issues i have encountered with them over the fact i believe they will put 2 and 2 together and find away to evict me. Brokem a.c faulty wires where some light just don't come on. Mold, mildew. And if you complain you get talked to like " they are so over it" well if you are then fix the issues. I will be reasonable and give one star due to its one receptionist i delt with that has a great work ethic. But thats it. They send people over to fix problems that look and act like crack heads they scooped up from the nearest corner. Which maybe to cut them from having to pay professionals to do the job right. And don't ever bring evidence to them of any sort. That you have spoken to someone that you reported this and this or documented that because now you're on the hit list. But i guess thats the business mantra Bissette wants to be remembered by. " f the people just get the money" good job

Negative experience: We had a house fire on February 2nd and we own our home of 28 years. We called this realtor about a rental home. They had homes for rent but turned us down due to having two dogs. These dogs are registered service dogs. I will be filing a complaint with the fair housing.

Negative experience: TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE place to rent from. They used to take care of work orders when something was wrong. Now they do nothing, say u never called then are rude about everything. Take no blame for their mistakes and belittle you when u call their bs. Definately getting in touch with the BBB. No people skills, just rude receptionists who think their sh*t dont stink. Also was hung up on repeatedly when trying to explain something, then picked up receiver and hung up 4 times when i called back immediately. Literally picked up and hung up. What a joke

Don't waste your time or money on these fools, they are only out for the next way to charge you and do not care about you or the condition of the home they rent to you. Horrible land lords as well. Paint peeling and ceiling leaking in all rooms and they could care less.

Negative experience: If you rent a storage unit you have to go out of your way to get a money order to pay for it then they mail you a check back in a week or two when you return the key,also looked at my rental application saw I had no rental history took my 40 dollars then told me they could not rent to me because of it

Negative experience: Let’s just say this company STOLE my boyfriends app fee! He applied over a week ago and has heard NOTHING! Yes or No...NOTHING! It doesn’t take that long to process an app PERIOD for a $700 apartment and he makes 5 times that???

Negative experience: One of the worst rental companies I have dealt with. They honestly play around. My roommates and I had mold/mildew in our home. We left letters, called, left voicemails. 4 months until anything was somewhat done and they still dragged their feet. I finally went back and documented all the calls I made, the letter which I had a picture of and began searching for a lawyer. In a last ditch attempt to be nice I tracked down the owner of the home I rent and bissette manages. Only then, with the threat of losing their clients business did they do anything. I work for the state and I tried everything, EVERYTHING!!! Even now they have not finished the job of cleaning up the mold and mildew. The people will definitely pretend like you did not call or leave a message. And if you do manage to get someone out to your house they will tell you what they think the problem is but not give any solutions or time frames of when it will be fixed, and you will never get a call back. If you decide to rent from them, just already have the deposit for a lawyer ready, because chances are if you have any problems at your residence you will need one.

Fantastic experience: They are great

Negative experience: Their rules do not make sense. You have to make three times the rent and be the only one on the lease BUUUTTTT if someone is living with you that owes money you get denied. That doesn't make sense if the person living with me wages cannot get added. If you deny someone it would also be nice to let them know instead of just denying and taking their money.

Negative experience: Don't let that nice fool you my late fees caught up with and I got evicted when I told them my pay period and instead of negotiating with you they so quick to throw a court order on you instead of talking or finding away to settle it.

Fantastic experience: I lived in one of their apartments for over 3 years and anytime my roommate and I had a problem, they were there to help. Mr.Bissette personally talked to us many times and was always very understanding and he worked hard to make sure we were happy. Easily 5 stars :)
