Fantastic experience: We've now bought two homes in Destin with Nikki, one in June 2025 and another that we just closed on last week, both for use as short-term rentals. She pointed us to an area of Destin that was perfect for what we wanted but that we never would have found on our own. From there, she guided us through the entire process, from finding the right property to closing, and she was there when we needed help after closing too. I'm a licensed commercial real estate agent, so I know what it takes to get a transaction done and what good representation looks like. Nikki delivers it. Fantastic experience: This was my first time ever dealing with a Real Estate. They were able to explain everything about selling the house in layman’s terms for me to understand. Negative experience: I was coming from out of town to see a home but instead of meet me at the property the Agent wanted me to drive out of the way so they could “get to know me“ And also have me sign an exclusive agreement so I would only use their services. I buy lots of homes and There’s nowhere that states you have to sign an exclusive broker agreement to use them. With many choices out there, I would definitely choose another firm. I saw that there were several one star reviews so I called to give constructive feedback, but it was apparent that they couldn’t care less On a good note, they were relatively pleasant Which is why they get two stars and not one

Fantastic experience: First off, Bonnie Seals is phenomenal! We were first time home buyers and used Bonnie to buy our house, and then used her again 7 years later when we needed to sell our house quickly because of an unexpected move. During the buying process she was able to explain everything clearly so we always felt like we were in the loop and knew exactly what was going on. When questions did arise, she always responded extremely quickly to answer them. She knows the market very well and will pull multiple comps to make sure you are getting a fair deal. If there is anything she thinks is not right with an offer, she will let you know so you can counter with confidence. Specifically Bruce recommended that our house would show best with our belongings removed from the house since we had lived in the house for 26 years and had acquired quite a bit of clutter. Negative experience: Signed our lease on 10/09/2024 for a lease date starting 11/01/2024. Arrived to a filthy house with the previous tenants bodily fluids in the bathrooms, spilled food in the fridge, bugs everywhere, and overall unlivable conditions for a house. In the 30 minutes our family spent taking photos of the conditions of the property, our one year old was covered in bug bites from being inside. Spent 4 days reaching out to our rental agent, the emergency line, and multiple realtors only to get 0 response. Had to stay multiple nights in a hotel while being promised the property is being cleaned “tomorrow” and will be move in ready only to receive no follow up. It’s now 4PM on 11/04/2024 and the house still hasn’t even been visited by an agent from ERA, nor a cleaner or anyone from maintenance. The only response we’ve gotten from the company is through Ashley (who has been great) but there’s only so much that she can do with upper management not speaking to us and refusing to acknowledge the situation beyond saying the situation shouldn’t have even happened. Now, there’s no rentals available in the area and our family is screwed out of thousands of dollars in move-in fees, hotel stay costs, food costs since we have no usable kitchen, and the company still won’t return our calls in a timely manner and is giving us the runaround. Incredibly disappointed in this experience, the service from upper management, and overall wouldn’t recommend renting from this company if you actually want to move into a livable home in a timely manner.

Negative experience: . The rental process has been a disaster from the beginning. We had to move into absolutely Fort Walton beach .which someone broken into my apartment the county sheriff's office was called dangers to me . A report was made and on file at Okaloosa Sheriff's office. A good portion of our $1300 security deposit (in our case about 25%) is none refundable for "professional" cleaning, but its pretty obivious at this point someone at the Shalimar office is lining their pockets with it. Do not give them any money for "good faith deposit" untill your have read the lease agreement. Its a very one sided contract favoring the owner and era leaving you liable for everything in every situation. Please read the application very thoroughly, especially the fine print which states your "good faith deposit" is non refundable even though all automated emails from era will mislead you into thinking other wise. As they say education is not free but I hope this helps any other families considering doing business with a company who treats you like a paycheck and not a human being.

Fantastic experience: We worked with Karen Grimmer to purchase a home. Karen was very helpful and a constant reassurance to us. She has valuable experience with smaller towns where things are just done a little differently. She was very responsive and went to bat for us several times. I highly recommend her to anyone buying a home.

Fantastic experience: I just finished a deal with Josh. He did a fantastic job in helping me with an investment property. I am an out of state buyer so I feel their is an additional level of trust with that. The property I purchased was quite unique and he was great about dealing with the HOA and answering any questions I had. With this deal there were several small issues and he worked extremely hard at remedying them. He came through with each of the issues. At the end of the deal there was a major issue and him and his whole company stepped up and fixed it. I definitely will work with him again.

Negative experience: Applied for townhome.Leese up on 8/01/2021 .I was very first to apply.They did not finish my application.They gave townhome to someone else.There is favoritism in this area.Now my family is homeless..If you need more document on income We had it.I have payed the realtors 500 or more dollars. for application and no home to go to.How would you feel.

Negative experience: Hands down the worst ever real estate experience I , plus my family has ever had to endure. I’ve been a realtor for 14 years, a broker for 2, total of 16 years in professional real estate. At the beginning, Ashley was hungry, answered all of our questions and was awesome, but at the point we were under contract, the customer service all ceased. I was coached on how Florida does things, micro managed on earnest money, utilities, and insurance..... ALL to find out, she missed seller signatures on documentation to get us early occupancy, all but leaving us homeless, then forged documents that lacked seller signatures and tried to force them through to the lender. Communication ceased and that’s when “Zee” stepped in.... I assume she was her coach? It actually got better, then worse.... We were able to not be homeless, but then pressured and pressured and my lender practically harassed, to make things happen over Memorial Day?! It was a holiday.... get outta here, These people dated everything to happen Monday, a national holiday, then got upset we couldn’t close. Knew we were headed to another part of Florida Tuesday, got upset we couldn’t sign then, then FINALLY we make it to closing Wednesday, and the per diem that they said they’d be responsible for, at closing we were informed we were going to have to pay. They convinced our lender, unbeknownst to us, to give us a lender credit to soften the blow, but never discussed with us, or him, that we needed to forfeit that over at closing. No communication, no customer service, no ethics. Just get the deal done, on an $825k home. All this to say, I would not recommend ERA American Real Estate Shalimar, “Zee”, or Ashley Perry. The ERA office didn’t greet me with a smile, their broker wouldn’t meet with me. They’re all unprofessional, unethical, and from someone that sells over 60 properties a year, my advice to you, is google someone with a 5 star rating and not “ERA” in front of their name

Fantastic experience: ERA is an awesome rental agency! Paige and Ashley helped us through our process, and their attentiveness to emails was outstanding! They made choosing the right home an absolute breeze. Upon move-in, we had our first inspection and the gentlemen who came (whose name I cannot remember) was super polite and really made us feel that we were in GREAT hands! We also had our first experience submitting a maintenance request through “Melds” their maintenance site. We submitted a request at 10:30pm and Wayne arrived the next day at 8am. He was happy to be there and overall sealed the fact that ERA is a terrific company to owners, tenants and their vendors.

She was so nice and professional in how she responded. A key to success to me is being polite and answering back in a timely manner. She is exactly this. Fantastic experience: Tamela Hayes helped me achieve the dream of a home near the beach. Her attention to detail, professionalism, integrity, experience, and knowledge, prove her to be the most esteemed agent. As a Veteran, Tamela gave special attention to my needs. I have no doubt that anyone who chooses to go with Tamela will be not only satisfied, but impressed as well. Her ERA team also made me feel very welcome and never once faltered to offer me water or coffee. Tamela and ERA treated me like a priority, exceeding all standards.

Negative experience: There online adds lie. Online they say dog and cat friendly but when you try to scedhule a showing you get pre screen questions and one question asks about pets and if you say yes it immediately denies your showing the second you submit it.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE PLACE! they jack up your rent yet can't afford to "fix the parking area." We get a rain storm and it's impossible to get to your car without standing in 4+ inches of water! Then after the rain it takes days to dry up. Try this with small children amd unloading groceries! Say good bye to your good pair of shoes! I have to go barefoot till I get to where I'm going to put shoes on. Ridiculous. Oh but lord forbid you park in the back since you "mess up the grass". Whoever comes and mowes this place DOESN'T KNOW what they are doing. It's sad honestly. Driving in here to park is absolutely horrible. Stay away! But they are quick to fine you for parking a third car for the weekend! I have called and called about my refrigerator and FINALLY 4 YEARS LATER, I get one. Wow thanks a bunch folks. Now can you fix these doors and windows? I'm tired of paying an electric bill to provide air conditioning to the outside.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure to work with Miss Karen Grimmer and Miss Paula Sherman earlier this year when I was buying my townhouse. They were both on top of things and made the process of buying very easy. Fantastic experience: Shannon Aden at ERA American Shalimar, did a great job in selling my house! It was a rental property, and I was out of state. Shannon did an exceptional job in prepping the house for sale, getting repairs done (at reasonable prices), handling all the dozens of details. She even brought in some furniture to stage the house! She handled everything with patience and professionalism, and explained options thoroughly. I would not hesitate to recommend her!

Negative experience: Everyone giving them good reviews was buying a house. They are by far the worst rental agency I've ever dealt with. They have consistently lied to me throughout the process of renting. I pretty much don't believe anything they tell me anymore, unless I have it in writing on the lease.

Fantastic experience: Pat Williams ERA AMERICAN REAL ESTATE is WONDERFUL. My mother passed away 2 years ago and I held onto her home. The home my father and grandfather built. The home my mother lived in for 50 plus years. My bedroom was the same as when I left to go to college. So it was very emotional and I wasn't really ready to sell. I hoped the house would be on the market for 6 months, giving me time to wrap my head around no longer having my home. Pat sold the house quickly and guided me every step of the way. I live out of state so there were a lot of phone calls. She handled my emotional roller coaster of pain, of anger, and of fear with calm aplomb. It was her soothing voice and still hand that steered the process. (I was not a motivated seller and probably wasn't the easiest either...) Pat is professional and enthusiastic about helping homeowners and purchasers. Her vast knowledge of the local area as well as her contacts to assist in unexpected things that come up are valuable.

Fantastic experience: When the whole house selling process started and I met with Paul, his enthusiasm and charisma filled the room. Paul informed me that the average sell time for our area was 180+ days. Paul was able to get my house under contract within 15 days! Unfortunately due to reasons out of our control the contract did not go through, but Paul was able to get my house under contract...AGAIN...within 30 days! My expectations for the whole house selling process were blown out of the water. Paul's dedication to his work and his care for his clients is unparalleled. Paul communicated with me daily. He updated me on any movement in the market, followed up with all of the interested parties and constantly kept me informed of all actions concerning my home. The biggest advantage of having Paul in your corner is his upfront honesty. He guided me to all the right decisions that enabled me to sell my house within my specific schedule and for the price I exactly wanted. Paul also utilizes the latest technology and brainstorms with his clients that enable maximum exposure to the market. Paul used a virtual 3D tour on my home, a first of it's kind in our area. The following open houses had an immense amount of traffic and all of the interested parties complimented the 3D tour that was posted via his website. I had to move out of the local area and was geo-dislocated from my house in Florida during the closing process. Fantastic experience: Wayne at ERA Shalimar was absolutely amazing. I messaged him months before moving to the area about a property that I fell in love with from the pictures - he responded quickly, was persistent in following up but not overwhelming and answered my incessant questions (as a first-time home-buyer) patiently. Negative experience: My experience with ERA with Mary Plummer as my agent was stressful and a nightmare to say the least. My agents only contact with me was a few emails and a text if my house was showing. I was lining up a contingent purchase after mine sold therefore my other realtor needed to know the status of my sale yet every question I posed to Mary came back with a one sentence answer "you'll know when I know" or "not yet". I had to have the agent I'm using to purchase my next home explain my contract to me and walk me through what to expect as my realtor was out of pocket the entire time. She was physically located in a different city yet ERA did not show the decency to assign me a local realtor to walk me through the selling process as this was my first ever sale. I had to have my current realtor call Mary to even get her to answer the phone and return my call when the buyers were making last minute unreasonable demands the night before our scheduled closing. To top things off she waits until one hour before closing to email me with instructions on the two cashiers checks I was required to bring to my closing appointment resulting in my appointment being missed. I physically saw my realtor one time - the day she came to take listing photos (which someone else did btw)....yet she make over $10k in commission. Talk about money not deserved. She was the reason I chose to go with a completely different company on the purchase of my next home and the reason I will never refer ERA to anyone.

Fantastic experience: It is refreshing to find a person that does what they are suppose to do when they are supposed to do it! Meagan Spears with ERA American Real Estate is such a person. In the past few weeks, she has assisted me in acquiring three properties. Fantastic experience: Okay this is going to be lengthy. I was fortunate to find Ms. Chris Collins online during my wife and making plans to move from Dayton Ohio to the Eglin AFB area. My search begin in Feb (2015) with Chris and I sharing multiple emails. Chris wasted no time asking me what were the five (5) "Must Have" things related to buying a home in Florida were on our list. Great question and drastically helped narrow the list and avoid any wasted time when my wife and I arrived in early March on a four (4) day house hunting trip (HHT). During the time prior to our HHT, Chris continually provided us online homes for review and consideration to view when we arrived. When my wife and I arrived (9 March) Chris was the first one to welcome us to Florida and the next morning (at her ERA office in Shalimar) meet face-to-face with us and begin traveling all over the county looking at homes. By Thursday (day 3) we had decided upon a place in Freeport (we love it). Chris' job did not end with an intent to buy. For the next 6 weeks she was instrumental in getting our inspections lined up and completed as well as meeting with the previous owners and going over some questions I had prior to closing. She was there at closing to assist with any last minute questions I had as well as continually sharing her experiences in the local area with regards to taxes, insurance, utilities, and general knowledge. (She more than earned the fee she will receive from ERA if not more than she was provided). AWESOME JOB CHRIS!

Fantastic experience: Paula Sherman and her team recently helped us to sell our home in Shalimar. Paula was a complete professional and her team proved to be very efficient in getting our home from "For Sale" to the closing table. Fantastic experience: My husband and I recently worked with Reba Hudspeth regarding selling our home. When we came to Reba a few years ago, we were in our early 20s and not even engaged yet, wanting to buy a home together. Most people wouldn't have taken us seriously, however Reba worked very hard for us and got us into our first home. Recently, we wanted to sell our home and move closer to work and family, so Reba took on the task of selling our home for us even though we've only been in it for 2 years. Once again she did an OUTSTANDING job for us and our home sold extremely quickly and we still made a profit. She is currently working with us to help us purchase the home we will raise our family in and I couldn't be happier with her as a Realtor and a friend. She has a fantastic work ethic, really listens to what we want, offers great advice and is accessible when we've needed her. She did such a great job with us and I know we are not her only clients. She treats us as if we are the only clients in the world, that's how dedicated she has been to us, but I know she has got to be a fantastic multi-tasker. I would recommend anyone and everyone to Reba. She represents the ERA brand very well and I am so glad my mother introduced us to her in the beginning!

Fantastic experience: My experience was awesome! I bought a second home using Rai DesGranges. She really looked out for me in the purchase, by her experience and knowledge of buying in the Crestview area. I bought in May 2013 a second home and due to not being able to utilize it in the way that I wanted; I need to sell it and contacted her in January 2014. She suggested a little higher than I had expected and listed the home. The home was on the market for approximately seven days. Her knowledge and expertise, I believe even helped the other agent with marketing the home. She knows what she is doing and is truly the “Best realtor in Crestview”. I would suggest using her and ERA American Realty of Northwest Florida to everyone in the area.

Positive experience: I used one of ERA's realtors, a top realtor in my area. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful in guiding us towards getting us into our new home. She knew the real estate market in our area inside and out, and as an added bonus she gave us some very helpful tips for renting out our current house. Our real estate agent was great; the only reason I rate 4 stars is because I am absolutely positive that she would have been great no matter what agency she worked for. Hopefully for you the fact that she works for ERA is indicative of their commitment to hiring great real estate agents and that is the reason my real estate agent chose ERA as her employer, but I have not discussed this with her and I know she would do great with any company.

Fantastic experience: We were very pleased with our experience. Charles, Ramona, and the whole staff were very helpful. The service was professional and saved us money. They are very knowledgeable of the real estate market in the Navarre, Gulf Breeze area. We strongly recommend them for anyone buying or selling in the area.

Negative experience: Spent a lot of our time with workers when we moved in while they made necessary repairs to the rental. Had to keep following up with them to get them to make repairs, would say items were repaired when they hadn't been. We had an issue with the apartment and had to vacate early, when I asked for my deposit back it took 30 days to receive and it had extra cleaning fees, extra carpet cleaning fee and $200 charge for water being turned off before 5 business days. I cleaned the entire apartment when we got it because it was still dirty when received, the carpet on lower level was never cleaned, had urine stains and smelled like a dog. I reported but it was never cleaned. I objected to extra fees being withheld from my security deposit refund telling them that I got apartment with filthy carpet so why am I being charged to have it cleaned now? Why extra cleaning fee when I had to clean all the bathrooms, kitchen floor etc when I was given the apartment. Beware of the utility deal. When you give them notice you are vacating they never mention anything about having to leave the utilities on for 5 days after you vacate. It is in the contract but when you haven't rented before you are unaware of this. It states a fee of $200 will be charged if utilities are turned off...so even if it is just one they still unfairly charge you for both! I'm sure they make a lot of money over the year from unsuspecting renters on that clause that they forget to mention/ remind you of.

Fantastic experience: I purchased a house and Charles and Ramona Spears were so great. They have helped me with everything that is needed.

Negative experience: I rented an apartment that was in poor condition and the maintenance issues were not addressed in a timely manner. The carpets were stained, the walls scuffed and in desperate need of painting, and it was dirty upon move in. The staff are very unprofessional and lack timely follow up. . I finally moved and they still have not returned my security deposit, so it looks like I will be forced to file a civil suit against them. The whole experience was horrible and I would not recommend renting from them
