Experiencia negativa: Terrible, unprofessional & lack of communication Our selling process started off as a great experience but slowly turned into a bad one. Ashely was very adamant about getting our house sold, even after we pushed back selling multiple times, which we loved. Communication was awesome in the beginning but became very sparse throughout the selling portion, leaving us reaching out every time for answers or updates on where we were at in the selling process. We were very up front when the house was listed that we will not make repairs or be bringing any cash to closing which at the time she understood & guaranteed we would sell it at a price to where we wouldn’t owe anything at closing. When given an offer from a potential buyer, Ashley was asked where that would put as at for closing, we were given a guesstimated number that ended up making us owe. It was requested on our end that Ashley does a sellers net sheet with a higher priced counter offer, to guarantee we would not owe at closing. The sellers net sheet came back with us walking away with money in our pocket so we accepted. After inspection it was noted that the roof was “nearing the end of its useful life” over our sunroom. Ashely insisted it be repaired multiple times even requesting us to hire a roofer for the buyer & stated to us the end inspection summary noted the roof has to be repaired, which it did not state at all. In response we denied to replace/repair that roof which resulted in her pushing for us to repair/replace in order to sell the house, which we did not do, but it made us question who she was actually working for, us or the buyer. Closer to closing paperwork became very unclear as this was our first time selling a house & nothing was explained to us. When the closing day was approaching we had heard nothing about a final walk through or anything about closing, after reaching out the day before closing, curious when they would do the walk through, her response was that she didn’t know very much but that the buyer can’t come at the scheduled time so they would have to wire transfer proceeds. The following day we arrived at closing under the impression we would have proceeds at the end of closing. When starting the paperwork the title company pointed to a number well over $4k stating that is what we had to pay in order to close. Ashley had missed an entire step in our closing process, we were given a grant when we bought this house & Ashley was made aware of that when listing the house & now we had to pay this grant back for not staying in the house for over 5 years. She was told multiple times at closing we had no money to bring to the table & she continued to insist we pay something & even asked for us to call family to pay our closing. We verified with Ashley that we were sent no paperwork stating we would owe at closing & she mentioned they sent us something to sign but never sent the document for us to review & that this $4k payment had popped up the day of. She tried to tell us she could use her commission to pay our closing but we would have to pay her back with our escrow & if we couldn’t pay her with our escrow that we would have to sign an agreement saying we would pay her back over $4k so she didn’t “put her job at jeopardy” then proceeded to say “this isn’t my fault”. Overall the communication was terrible, she did not stand by her sellers side during the process & simply lacked the knowledge on professionalism to properly help her clients sell a house.

I told her I had very little knowledge of the real estate process or the Springfield area and she walked me through every step of the buying process, spared me from headaches, and shared her vast knowledge of the area. I flew out for a week to look at houses. I was looking for a two to three bedroom house with a garage and most importantly a DRY basement. She picked me up from my airbnb every day, and I don’t know how many houses we looked at, but in the end she found me exactly what I liked and needed. It’s a beautiful brick house with an attached garage and a HUGE bone dry basement! She found the perfect inspector who was very thorough, and she negotiated a new electrical panel as the old one was hazardous. This saved me another chunk of change off the price. Upon closing, she set me up with insurance agents and a list of recommended local contractors, and she continues to be a great resource. Oh, let’s not forget that The Real Estate Group treated us to a day at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.
