Experiencia negativa: I moved into a rental Ryan from Torelli rented to me. Immediately after moving in we found out the smoke detectors were not functioning, I alerted Torelli and they did not fix it. Weeks later I needed to fix them myself. Then we found mold in the property, had to follow up weeks to get a response. We dealt with Nick as the property manager, his attitude is horrible. After we finally received a response he sent someone to clean the Sheetrock soaked in mold with a tub cleaner. The mold problem became worse as we looked into it more. I paid for a mold test and the outcome questions the habitability of the home. Nick told the repair person they wanted to hire that he would only hire them if they signed a confidentiality agreement to not tell us as tenants anything about their findings. The inspector felt horrible that Nick was doing this and called us to alert us of the problem. Nick should be fired, my family is in a rental with high mold scores and no results. We are hiring attorneys to deal with the issue. Don’t deal with that company. If you are a homeowner don’t use them for property management. If you are looking at selling a home or buying a home go with someone honest. Run from this company.

Experiencia fantástica: Kendra Fisher helped us during the purchase of our home. It was our first time so we had a lot of questions, doubts, and concerns. Kendra patiently helped us navigate all of that so well. She explained in great detail whenever we had questions. And was just a great person to have during this experience; Fun, sociable, and energetic! She also was so responsive and on top of it. Responding to texts quickly and answering our calls and if she couldn’t take our call, letting us know when she could chat. On the house that we ended up getting, the price dropped significantly and it was likely going to get a lot of attention due to that. We needed an offer out immediately and Kendra had it ready for us within an hour and sent out to the realtor. We submitted an offer under asking and got accepted and the negotiations didn’t stop there. Even in this market she was able to get us credits and save us even more money. Purchasing a home is obviously one of the biggest financial decisions and having someone like Kendra in your corner who you can be so confident has your best interest is key. We loved working with her and highly HIGHLY recommend her!

They treated me well then and It was a natural choice to work with them again when my partner and I bought our first home. Experiencia fantástica: In response to the review below: As a parent of a child in Costa Mesa schools, I have seen Valerie Torelli and her team give generously- 10s of 1,000s of dollars in funding toward our schools and continued education. Not to mention their countless community events over the years that provide direct attention to families of students and additional funding opportunities for PTA programs.

Experiencia negativa: I called to speak with an Agent in hopes they could help me with my college project. All I asked for was 10-15 minutes. I immediately was told no, she wasn’t interested in what I was selling. Never did I mention about selling anything. Weird? I guess Julie was to busy to help a college student out. It’s ok. Not too sure if I would ever do business here in the future. Considering the great reviews, I would be cautious. I am a real estate Investor and in college new to the area and trying to work on my project and needed a local agent. Best of luck.

Her professionalism and, more importantly to me, integrity shined far above the other agents I spoke with. As the process evolved , it was clear to me that she cared just as much about all the people involved as closing the deal. I had a tenant that she spent much time and energy helping to re-locate, which was above and beyond the scope of her job. She was successful and showed me that she cared not just about making the sale, but compassion towards another human. There were a few other obstacles that she had to overcome to in order to present the house which she dealt with in a very efficient manner. The bottom line was she was able to sell the house surprisingly quickly and at a much higher price than I thought possible. On a scale of 1-10, she earned 1000. I told my brother, who was a realtor , about my experience with Valerie. His response was “ You Scored! Most agents are wannabes, but she is that rare agent that really knows how to conduct a transaction effectively on all levels.” Valeries lives up to every word of her motto: “Live in such a way that if someone spoke badly of you, no one would believe it.” I wish more people had her integrity. Experiencia fantástica: I met Darcy at an open house in the neighborhood in Costa Mesa and she responded to every one of my questions. I immediately liked her approach. She and Valerie were a great team and helped get answers during an arduous escrow period. Darcy was very professional and courteous.

Experiencia negativa: Valerie was initially very interested to get the listing agreement signed. The agents handling the sale - Alan and Heather - initially seemed energetic and competent. To my disappointment they chronically did not live up to many of their guarantees, promises, assurances, or duties. *Other buyers/sellers should know this before they select an agent.* These are failures experienced and suggestions for improvement: 1. Communication - calling/texting before unannounced visits, ensuring times and dates quoted are correct, refraining from flippant or rash remarks/judgements, especially when lacking subject knowledge or qualifications ie construction/maintenance/etc, giving updates or forwarding information in a timely manner w/the understanding of the property owner's responsibility and position 2. Follow-through - doing what you say you will do in the same manner/time initially mentioned/assured 3. Empathy/consideration - working to comprehend the buyer or seller's position, duties, schedule, workload, timeline, etc and acting accordingly (in communication and follow-through, etc) with their interests foremost, not merely own agenda or convenience 4. Planning - laying out a plot and timeline for accomplishing each task/agenda with the client's interest in full consideration and being aware/respectful of changes to that plan and the communication, follow-through, and empathy required -- then communicating/sharing that timeline with the buyer/seller in writing 5. Client profile - recognizing, acknowledging, noting, and creating - then refreshing memory of client's desires, requests, personality, workload, position, etc in order to keep in syncronization and context when talking and working with them At the close of escrow I was pressured to move out earlier than the contract agreement because of mistakes the agents (buyer or seller or both) made in order to accomodate the other party. These frustrations and concerns were voiced and expressed all along the process, and yet a month after the sale was complete a mass advertisement mailing was sent out stating the transaction occurred with no stress to the seller. That complete falsehood and misrepresentation could not go unchallenged and this review is written since many others in the neighborhood shared similar stories or issues with agents who have worked or are working for Torelli Realty. Unfortunately, their motto of 'being the change' is mere virtue signaling and is more aptly demonstrated as 'feigning the change.'

Experiencia positiva: This is the third time we have used Torelli Realty! The first time was when my parents sold their house back in the early 80's. Ten years ago we used Torelli to sell our house and it was sold within a month of being on the market. The entire transaction was quick and painless and we absolutely loved our agent. This time it took a little longer to sell our house, but that was at no fault of Torelli. We had a great team of people from the office working with us. Phone calls were returned quickly, questions were answered honestly and professionally. Nick Nonis went out of his way to communicate with us and always keep us in the loop. She was a true go getter and very open and honest and we knew we could trust her and her entire staff. Valerie made a lot of promise's to us and she followed thru with every single one of them. If she said she was going to have someone drop off boxes or have someone help me pack then that's what she did. I will send all my friends and family to Valerie. We were working with Valerie already with the sell of our home so we decided to let them go ahead and have them help us with the purchase of our new home. I worked mostly with April O'neil and she was awesome. April listened to every detail of the dream house I was looking for and she did everything to help us find it. I feel her and I really connected and I can honestly say I found a friend in April. April and I would go out looking at houses and it felt so comfortable like 2 friends just out and about. She is a very easy going person and is very good at her job. April is also ok with telling you if she doesn't know the answer to something but she will get back to as soon as she finds out. April kept us informed and up to date every step of the process, she was very informative. Sometimes she would call just to say there was nothing new going on but she didn't want us to be worried because we had not herd from her in a couple of days. Seth works in the office as well and he was also very helpful, he came and cleared out a bunch of stuff for us and on moving day one of our helpers got tied up so Seth came over within 20 min notice and helped my husband load all the heavy stuff into our moving truck. Buying a house can be such a stressful time but April, Valerie, Seth and the entire Torelli Team all made it so easy. So from the bottom of my heart thank you all. Experiencia negativa: Torelli Realty managed a property that I was renting in Anaheim. I was there for 2+ years. Everything was going alright until I moved out, when I moved out they withheld a large portion of my security deposit for what they said were damages and repairs that were needed. When I moved in, I took tons of pictures and filled out the move-in inspection form. There were holes in walls (expected), large stains in the carpet, a damaged sink, rusted stove top, a broken garage disposal, among many other things. I took note of all these items and provided many pictures to show the condition of the apartment. Upon moving out, we performed a move-out inspection and the lady that came along mentioned that everything looked normal and nothing appeared to warrant any deductions and that I should received my security deposit within 21 days. On the 20th day I was notified that a secondary move-out inspection was done and that there were many items that needed repair along with replacing the sink I was NEVER notified of the secondary inspection or offered the opportunity to attend. Completely unjustified and unwarranted I called and asked them to reconsider and review the pictures that I had provided several times over and Bob refused to reconsider over the phone and before even reviewing the pictures. I don't know how everyone else is at Torelli but the people I dealt with, Bob mainly, is not a reasonable and fair person. I would caution anyone thinking of dealing with them. They had my money and thought that they could deduct items as they see fit even after performing a move-out inspection where nothing was noted for repair. Really unbelievable. I am in the process of filing multiple complaints against them to alert other potential renters of their actions.

Experiencia fantástica: I first met Valerie Torelli at one of her free community sponsored events…not sure if it was the Easter Egg Hunt or the Pumpkin Patch. In 2010, I called Valerie to give me a free estimate of the current value of our home. She was professional, polite and courteous. We decided not to sell at that time. In 2015, we wanted to sell our home and we called Valerie. She came out again to evaluate our home. There is a number of real estate agents in Costa Mesa, but we wanted someone we could trust and knew the area…..Valerie did not let us down and goes above and beyond her call of duty. It is easy to see why Torelli Realty is the #1 Realtor in Costa Mesa and we would highly recommend her. Her staff is very helpful and friendly and eager to answer any questions you may have.

Experiencia negativa: less than honest -altered docs -contacted our lender without our knowledge to see if lender would give us more money -didn't feel like they were always on our side -all decisions came to us at the last minute and needed to be decided within 24 hours or less -felt bullied at times -were aggressive with us, but not with the seller when seller kept adding a total of 4 extensions to our escrow date -difficult time getting copies of paperwork. Took multiple requests -we also did most of the legwork in finding properties to look at -In short would not recommend.
