With specific criteria in mind, I needed a reliable and knowledgeable partner; Adam exceeded my expectations. Adam and I met when I was touring listings on my own to get a sense of what was within my budget. During a tour of a building I loved but couldn't quite justify, I met Adam, the listing agent at the time. Having stopped working with a few agents who seemed pushy or superficial, I was immediately struck by how down-to-earth and passionate Adam was. Despite my long and intentional lead time to finding the right property, Adam diligently stayed in touch every step of the way—he's quick to get back to you! He took the time to answer my questions in detail, meticulously walked me through each step of the process (such as negotiating on price and contingencies), and was always available. And, thanks to his help, the seller accepted our offer—below the asking price, with credits and no contingencies waived. To this day, I continue to work with Adam's recommended law firm beyond the transaction. When I look back at all of the incredible brands and people I work with, almost all of them came from word of mouth; don't discount this! I would have appreciated slightly more due diligence on certain tricky HOA (unapportioned taxes) and master parcel (650 sqft fence encroachment) tasks, but I will 100% work with Adam again. I can't imagine ever finding another realtor who is as knowledgable, even-keeled, strategic, and helpful as he is. No matter how complicated the situation is, Adam makes it look effortless—like when we needed to coordinate the sale of two separate condos on one day and the purchase of a second the next day. Or when we decided to ditch condo living and got a private purchase offer from our next door neighbors—Adam gave us a ton of advice and guidance, even though he wasn't getting the commission on that sale. We are so grateful to have Adam in our corner, and while we keep saying we'll never move again, he's 10000% our first phone call if we change our minds.

Experiencia fantástica: I have to say that Adam Shamus was the best person I could have contacted when I was advised by my doctor to move to a living space all on one level. When I was trying to decide what to do, I asked Adam if he would be willing to take a look at my place to suggest what I should fix first. There was a presentation about deciding how to make changes while aging a few years ago at our congregation, so I felt comfortable in asking him if he minded. He met with me, did a walkthrough, and had very helpful suggestions, taking a lot of issues off my mind. When I called as I was moving out, he came in right away and went over the details with me, all within the same week. He also found some cleaners who did a wonderful job quickly before showing the place. The next Monday the house went on the market, and there were several bids to choose from; we accepted a higher than asking bid by Friday. After that, Adam took care of coordinating the process, read the meters, and reminded me to have the snow cleared after the snowfall. I did not have a real estate lawyer, so he suggested a couple, one of whom I hired. I was very happy with her as well. By the way, when I decided to work with Adam, my son, who lives in Virginia, decided to check out Compass, which is the company Adam works with. I think he was afraid I might be taken in by a fast talker; he called back in a couple of hours and reported that the company was reputable and a good one to work with. This time Josh enlisted the help of Adam Shamus, an agent in his group. We were demanding clients, searching remotely from Atlanta and LA for a property meeting specific criteria. We fell in love with a new construction townhome in Boston but new isn’t all it’s cracked up to be (especially in 2020 with Covid shutting down the country). We wanted to snag the last home in this project but I wasn’t able to see it during the open house. Through his relationships, Adam connected with the selling agent and we learned there was another offer and were able to put an offer in contingent on me seeing it. We needed to put in a best and final and Adam helped us find a number that was comfortable for us but also competitive and our offer was accepted! However, the units were sold before completion and with Covid affecting the builder’s staff and subcontractors and with 3 other townhomes under contract before us we were in for lots of surprises! We compiled our punch list and Adam did all the work with the attorneys and seller’s agent to ensure we held back money for projects that couldn’t be completed before the closing. Adam arranged to have the builder meet us at the unit to provide comfort that the punch list items would be completed properly. To our surprise, the day of closing, most of the items were still outstanding. Adam did not put any pressure on us to close and worked with our attorney to move the closing and express our dissatisfaction to the selling agent. This was super emotional and stressful and Adam was supportive and took the initiative to monitor the progress personally!!
