The class was informative but I definitely suggest saving up at least 5000 for all of the initial costs. When we toured houses he asked us to rate the house on a scale of 1 (absolutely hate it) to 10 (make the offer), makes you really think about moving into the space and seeing if it will work or not. We were very surprised to realize it was truly a no strings attached experience. We were pretty reluctant going in, just because there are generally "no free lunches", but we were relieved to find out Mason & Dave (the mortgage lender he does the class with) were actually providing quality home buying information without any pressures to utilize their services. Sure, Mason & Dave hope to make a connection with you during the class, gain your trust, and earn your business down the road, but we never felt any pressures to do anything beyond listening. They walk you through the entire process, step-by-step, and answer any questions you have. They provide informational handouts to take home with you, so you can review and utilize when you are ready to start the process. For us, we didn't start the process until was several months later. Given our positive experience with the class, we wanted to go with Mason & Dave. After getting pre-approved for a mortgage loan by Dave, we reached out to Mason to start the search for our first home. We met with him at his office and discussed what we were looking for in our home. We had been looking at houses online for a very long time - we knew what we wanted...or so we thought. Mason asked us pointed questions that really got to the heart of we were looking for in a home. At the end of the meeting, he asked us to go onto his website and find a handful of houses that we are interested in seeing, then he'd set up showings. The following Saturday, we ended up looking at four houses. At each house, Mason asked us what we liked, what we didn't like, and how we felt about the house as a whole. We didn't realize it then, but he was listening very closely and painting a clear picture of what we were actually wanting (vs. what we thought we wanted) in our home. Out of the first three houses, two were nice, newer builds, but the bedrooms were small and the lots were tiny/lacked privacy. There were other factors, but we quickly realized that those homes weren't right for us. The other house was kind of a dud, several issues that weren't evident in the listing, but we still got the same questions as the other houses - he was able to gather beneficial information from that showing, even though it was a definite "no" house. Before we showed up to the forth house, Mason mentioned that he felt like we were really going like it. It seemed to him to have checked most of the boxes we were seeking and align with the mental picture he had painted of our house. It turned out he was 100% correct. After only looking at four houses, we made an offer on our future home. Mason helped coach us through the offer process and provided valuable off strategies to increase our chances of having our offer accepted. It worked, and got us a hot tub. With Mason, we loved how well he listened, how he made us feel like we were his only clients, and how he was always available to help answer questions and provide valuable guidance. After spending a lot of time thinking about criticisms, we really couldn't come up with anything notable. He was truly great to work with and we'd absolutely love the opportunity to get to do so again in the future.

He made the process easy to understand and made sure to answer any questions we had. Communication and updates were frequent, so we were always informed and never felt out of the loop on anything. What I thought would be a stressful and arduous process ended up being a fun and lighthearted adventure. We'll definitely be going to him again for our future real estate needs. Experiencia fantástica: Met Mason at one of his first time homebuyer classes (mostly to get a free dinner), and from day I got a bunch of knowledge about the homebuying process, a super cool new friend, and eventually my first house. (...And the aforementioned free dinner) Mason is top notch; Very communicable, prompt, and does what he says he will do when he says he will do it, as well as giving you a list of everything YOU need to do along the way. When I was working with him, the first house I told him I was interested in had a 48 hour buying window. Happy to say I've made that house mine thanks to his help. So stop by one of his classes if you're looking to learn about buying a home, and if you're looking for someone that will make buying or selling a home as easy as it can be give him a call and gain a cool new friend like I did.

A few weeks later we were ready to seriously start looking and met with Mason to get to know each other. From the start, he was a great communicator and a genuine advocate for our wants and needs. We found the house we ended up buying during an out-of-state trip Easter weekend and he secured us a showing as soon as we got back into town--on Easter!
