Any issues we have had, have been handled same day or day after (Fence repair from tornado is a perfect example). He even talked with the new owner of our property (he took over mid-lease after the original owners moved out of state and sold the house) to allow our family to have a dog, my daughters have wanted another one after having to get rid of our previous dogs to get into the house, even though the lease said no animals. After interviews with them all, Don stood out as a realtor that not only has a passion for what he does but has the experience and patience to work with a variety of clients making the buying experience easier than I imagined. Yes buying a home is stressful, but Don worked hard to make sure offers were excepted and progress made towards home ownership. Experiencia negativa: From a Buyer perspective, I am at a loss for words by how disappointing the experience was buying a home Don Harrington represented as the real estate agent. I understand we are currently in a competitive housing market, but that does not give a pass to treat your Buyers with zero respect. Don’s communication with our realtor was poor, and when he did respond, it was with excuses covering for his Sellers. My family made the move from out of state to IN. A lot of planning has to go into an out of state move. Don & Sellers insisted we couldn’t get into the home until a Sunday. Come to find out, the week of the move, the Sellers were out of the home on the Thursday. This cost my family thousands of dollars in unnecessary moving costs due to the planned Sunday entry. When we entered the home, we found a large hole in the wall to plumbing and water leak that was covered by furniture & never disclosed. An useable tub and shower. And broken entryways. If Don respected everyone in a home buying transaction, we should have never experienced what we have been through in the last 2 months. From a frustrated and stressed Buyer, be cautious buying a home represented by Don Harrington.

We were really unsure of whether we wanted to build or buy and what exactly we were looking for in a home. However, we did have a list of things that we wanted in our home and a lot of the existing homes didn't check all boxes without having to do a ton of renovations. After walking through about fives houses and still not finding what we were looking for, Don took us to a builder in the area we were looking to live. We liked what the builder had to offer and it was nice that we had Don with us to answer any and all of our questions that we had during the building process. We ran into a couple issues during the build and when we reached out to the builder we didn't get the responses we were looking for and kept Don in the loop on what was going on. Don checked in periodically throughout the building process and even walked through the house on his own. When we couldn't get a response we shot Don the email chain and he was able to get a hold of someone and either get an answer or get the issue on the list of things to be corrected. Don was very easily accessible at any time day or night, and if we couldn't get a hold of him we would hear from him shortly after. Building a new home was stressful, but it was nice having someone with the knowledge of building, home value, and resale value. We consulted with Don every step of the way on things that we "wanted" versus what would provide us a higher resale value in the future when we outgrow our new home. Building with Don was much easier than if we would've just built on our own. I would highly recommend Don to anyone who is in search of a realtor and definitely recommend using a realtor if you are building your new home.

Experiencia negativa: Don listed a rental in the Whiteland area. The day it was listed (Friday) I called him (within hours of it being posted, without pictures available). I asked if he would show me the house as soon as possible. He said he would get back with me early the following week. I did not hear back the following Monday via email to follow up again. He responded and said how about Friday at 1. I said sure and my husband rearranged his schedule to watch our 4 children so I could look. I sent an email the morning of the showing to confirm my appointment and never received a response. I went ahead and got ready then proceeded to the house. I arrived 10 minutes early and waited... and waited... and waited. Finally at 10 after I called. I was pushed directly to voicemail that informed me to speak clearly because it would be translating into a text for Don. I explained I was at the house waiting. That I had not received a response to the email this morning and asking if he still planned on coming to the apt. I waited another 10 mins... no response. No text, no e-mail, no phone call. Surprisingly tonight the listing shows no longer available. I am not bothered by the fact the house was rented to another family. What I am bothered by is the total lack of professionalism and respect displayed by Don. I found him to be untrustworthy, and very disappointing. I would not want another family to deal with what my family had to this week.
