Experiencia negativa: I am a current tenant and NYC City Employee at 695 Thwaites Place (The Allerton). I am writing this to warn others about the management practices of Finger Management and their marketing consultant, K&G Upright. Despite being a city worker in good standing, I have been trapped in an unendurable studio for years while management has kept vacant a one-bedroom unit (6F) for over 3 years. They did not as much as acknowledge my request and now they repeatedly provided false information about availability and are now attempting to bypass the 10% Municipal Employee Preference mandated by HPD and my reasonable accommodation. Their excuses are a clear case of bad-faith stalling. I have had to escalate this matter to Council Member Oswald Feliz to address these regulatory violations and potential Source of Income discrimination.

Experiencia positiva: I had a really positive experience with Finger Management. Desiree was incredibly responsive and got back to me quickly whenever I had questions. She took the time to show me the apartment and was very patient and understanding throughout the process — which, as anyone knows, can be very stressful. Although I didn’t end up getting the apartment, my experience with her made me genuinely excited about the possibility of living there. Her professionalism and calm approach made a big difference. I would absolutely recommend working with them.

Experiencia negativa: This company isn't professional. I live in a building they manage, the building had work done, and it wasn't to code. I had to call for proper ventilation when work was being done and had to ask for a schedule multiple times. They sprayed metallic spray paint in the building and I had to call for ventilation. I even had to get the city involved because they didn't bother to put the proper protocols in action. Now with the snow the entire parking lot looks insane it's unsafe and I've called many times about the snow, people are parking in areas that create an even bigger safety issue and it's unsafe getting in and out of the car. Difficult to get in and out of the garage. They told me there was no salt..... we need a plow or a shovel to be utilized here.... not salt. I was also asked if I knew it snowed... the entire conversation was rude I have photos and will add more.

Experiencia fantástica: Worked with managing agent Nick B while renting an apartment in an Upper West Side building over the last two years. Nick was fantastic to work with. He's responsive and flexible, and works to quickly resolve any issues or answer any questions. A real pro and extremely easy to work with. And the building itself was always well maintained and kept clean. Overall a very good experience.

Experiencia negativa: Management is not responding. Out property manager showed up intoxicated for meetings (guess he couldn't handle us sober), he took a nap in the empty supers apartment and walked out with our master key,... All the vendors they send are no A-teams. Projects were done improper or not finished at all. But management paid their buddies with our $. And some vendors they did not pay at all for month. Finger management is not on top of their game.

Experiencia negativa: They managed The Aurora condominium and took a 500 dollar deposit from me for my move-in. The deposit should have been returned when I moved out of the apartment, but they are keeping my money because they ‘don’t currently manage the building anymore’. Absolute trash. Run if you see their name on anything.

Experiencia negativa: It's impossible to get them to answer emails or calls. Adding here the text of two emails I just sent to the management team after reaching the end of my rope, with the name of the specific employees redacted. _________________________ Hi [management team] - I'm sorry to have to reach out to you like this, but I've been trying to get [employee] to help me with this issue for months now. The only times she has responded have been to kick the can down the road. It's preventing me from reliably having medication delivered. She has not responded to the messages I left. I did finally reach her, and she insisted she was working on it, but she clearly hasn't. She also insisted that she had responded to me on another issue of water damage from a flood upstairs, where she definitely didn't. I will forward that email as well. I'm concerned that the neglect of the issue may lead to structural issues or mold, but she clearly does not share that concern. She also insisted that she spoke to me about that, which was... well, frankly, bizarre. I had never spoken to her prior to today, where she was quite hostile when I said I had been trying to reach her for months. Her assistant tried very hard to make me go away, but after insisting I speak to her supervisor, she did transfer me to [employee]. Can you please direct me to someone with the power to help here? ____________________ Hi [management team], Please see the forwarded email about the water leak that I sent 2 weeks ago and still have not received a response to. When I spoke to the (very agitated) [employee] on the phone, she insisted (1) that she had talked to me (... what??? She definitely knows she's never spoken to me before), and (2) that this did not affect me because it was the floor upstairs. Which, as you can see from the attached pictures of clear water bubbles in the walls, is quite a stance to take! There is water damage down an entire section of the wall. I'd appreciate your help here.

Experiencia positiva: I’ve read these reviews and I’m shocked. We are new clients and I have can confidently say that as our current building manager, Desiree D. is awesome. She is attentive, and incredibly efficient. One of the things that stands out about Finger/Desiree is their responsiveness. Whether it's a maintenance request, board demands, requests for bids/proposals or just a general inquiry, they respond quickly and with a solution-oriented approach. I never feel like I'm bothering them; in fact, Ron, and his team (thus far) seem to genuinely care about the well-being of our residents. The building itself is always clean and well-maintained, thanks to Desiree’s diligent oversight. She works closely with the cleaning and maintenance teams to ensure everything runs smoothly. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our choice to change to Finger Mgmt. and have Desiree as a Building Mgr. If anything changes, Ill revise my review. Btw no one gets 5 stars. There's always room for improvement

Experiencia fantástica: Finger Management has managed our HDFC for 10 years. Together we've developed a close professional relationship. Within the last four years property manager, Hector Williams has shown so much dedication to seeing that the property is running efficiently. There is no issue to small or to big for his attention and time is not a factor. He's available 24/7. His initiative to see and implement the neccessary improvements to the property is greatly appreciated by the shareholders.

Experiencia fantástica: I was one of the first residents in SOYO Lofts when it opened and just moved out years later. The team at Finger Management has gone above and beyond to make their residents feel seen, heard, and comfortable. I have never had an issue with a request, communication and all of their staff is cross trained and always in the loop. The building is well maintained and extremely clean. Systems are up to date, everything is user friendly and if I ever move back to NY, I will most definitely move to a property that is managed by Finger Management. Experiencia negativa: This is the most unprofessional company and the staff is extremely rude and have the nerve to have an attitude. You call or email them, and there is no response.... ever! THEY DO NOT COMMUNICATE AT ALL!!! How do you have a job and yet NOT do YOUR job?! Then be mad when people call you out on NOT doing YOUR job?!?! One person claimed they were remote. Remote don't mean vacation!!!!! Get it together and help the people you were hired to manage the property for or let another company take over that actually going to do the work! One person advised me to email them and CC the Mayor! If the company really want to help, provide a number where you can be reached because the email you provide always goes unanswered and no one ever gets back to you.

If your looking for a honest business to take over a residential leasing deal please bypass this company. The secretary that answers the phone is very rude every time and I mean every-time I call doesn’t matter she’s always having a bad day. No type of communication between agents and lease holders you can call for a repair and call and call and nothing no response no call back If somehow the work does get done it’s at a mediocre level. Cutting too many corners here.

Experiencia fantástica: Ron Finger Management. Where do I begin… I have been working with Ron finger management for over 20+ years. They took over management of my first home, a building I grew up in circa 1998 and since then, our building has been well maintained. We went from almost having to file for bankruptcy to over half a million dollars in reserves. They are truly responsive, patient. I felt taken care of and respected by frequent, open communication. I have had such a great experience with Ron finger management that I had them help me sell my home. They are diligent, professional, and most importantly Trustworthy. I was able to rest assured knowing that Finger Management had my best interest at heart.

Experiencia negativa: Greedy, unprofessional, not personable at all. They do not care about the shareholders at all. Non working buzzer system, dirty common areas with no oversight of super, they hold deposits for no reason. Sickening. Do not do business with them. I have been living in a brand new cooperative apartment building managed by Finger Management for the past 6 months. Under Finger Management the building has taken a turn for the worse: dirty carpets, non functional buzzer system, leak in the storage room, and non functional utility company (lack of transparency with billing/meter system). I chose to rent out the community room of our building for a party. According to the rental agreement I was entitled to the security deposit I put down ($200). The property manager decided because there was tape on a doorframe and some spots on the floor that I forfeited my deposit. Finger Management refused to return the deposit although they did not have to use any part of my $200 toward resolving the “damage” to the space. Do not do business with this management company if you can avoid it. They are negligent, greedy and unethical.

Experiencia negativa: Critical: Lacks professionalism, integrity, care and fails to act swiftly regarding pressing matters: such as inside smoking, tenant-to-tenant harassment, leaking roof and general repairs: bathroom, kitchen and general use areas. Furthermore, matters not handled properly nor in a timely manner that makes the property I reside at unsafe and inhabitable. Managers will lie to cover their failure to follow up or execute legitimate repairs or grievances. They will forget to follow up and simply not do the required work, nor answer emails timely (if at all). The principal operator of this company fails to share serious matters with ownership. This issue is relevant at least at my property. I can’t speak for others, but one could only assume if they cannot properly keep clean, maintain and manage one property: it is likely they cannot manage others well either. I think when moving into a building, always research the management company first before making a decision. I certainly could’ve been living in a beautiful building and not dealing with a leaking roof (for the second time) for a month and through hurricane-like conditions. Due to hurricane Ida (a storm known to be coming for weeks), our basement became flooded and a majority of my items damaged/ruined. Instead of having a team ready, the super and primary manager were on vacation. The “full-in” manager never gave anyone his number whatsoever. So, we had nobody to call. The “emergency” line calls the super and management company — which did nothing to remedy the matter in the first place. Whilst my internet provider and water delivery company noted how prepared they are for the storm (and how serious the storm would be); Finger Management didn’t notify us at all that there is a possibility the basement could flood or to remove items in advance and/or that the basement was flooding in real time; even though an alarm was sounding for hours; and the elevator ceased to work. The company failed to notify all tenants, period. For a company that says they have been doing this for 30 years — how would a warning email or note on a serious matter be any different than a storm/matter from 10 years ago or even 100 years ago? It is common sense. The Simple answer: they do not care and lack integrity. Absolutely, the worst experience I have ever had. I cannot recommend by any means.

Experiencia fantástica: I don't know what the previous review is talking about. Finger Mgmt is nothing but responsive when I've needed and I've dealt with Greg and his assistant on a consistent basis and have had my needs met and my issues resolved in a professional manner.

Experiencia negativa: Literally my worst nightmare, I stayed at their 167 w 129th location. The worst service ever, the management is rude, selfish and VERY discriminatory. The only thing they care about is collecting rent from you that’s it! In the one year I lived there, there have been problems with hot wayer and many related issues. As I mentioned before, this was my worst nightmare, worst Appartment I have rented all my life. Pleaae keep away while you can!

Experiencia negativa: Very rude staff, especially the management can't even ask them a question without them going off. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone they're beyond unprofessional. If you see a 5 star rating for this company, it is their employees disguised as other people rating themselves at that level.

Experiencia fantástica: Finger manages assets in a good fashion. They have always been good with the buildings we have collaborated on and have protected my interests as a landlord. I would recommend them as a 3rd party manager.

Experiencia negativa: After many things being stolen from infront of my door... dangerous incidents occurring in the halls/stairs asking for cameras THAT WORK must be too much... as a landlord isn’t protecting your PROPERTY and TENANTS priority?? Oo no, according to the property manager that’s not his job because he isn’t authority. Authority hasn’t done anything because when they come back for recordings there aren’t any, Yes we do have cameras but they’re just for show.

Experiencia fantástica: I have lived for two years in an HDFC apartment in Harlem managed by Finger management. I find them responsive and professional. My suspicion is that those who on this thread have found them and the staff to be rude are themselves unreasonable and have unrealistic demands. I appreciate their professionalism.
