Fantastic experience: Designation Property Management (DPM) provided us with top-notch service while we vacated our home for 15 months to travel and visit family. Neena and Olivia at DPM handled every aspect of the rental of our home: finding tenants, inspecting and overseeing the preparation of our property, processing required documentation, arranging repairs as necessary, and providing detailed statements tracking every dollar received and disbursed. We recommend DPM enthusiastically and without hesitation, and we would be delighted to contract with them again under similar circumstances. Both Neena and Olivia are knowledgeable and thorough. They have a stable of excellent service professionals that enabled them to handle issues that came up as seamlessly as possible, never bothering us with minor issues. We had one major issue with our heat-pump system that did necessitate interaction, and they worked patiently and efficiently with both us and the tenants to get the system repaired. In most cases, the repairs and maintenance that they arranged were higher quality and less costly than if we had undertaken them ourselves. Overall, we are very grateful that Neena and Olivia made it possible for us to travel carefree, with our home in even better shape when we returned than when we left.

Update 2025: Just to add to my review above, old tenants left and house and landscaping needed some repairs, their contractor Joe, came out to help with the project and they seriously did an amazing job... great work, at a very fair price, with full transparency (invoice for all materials, etc) while I was mostly remote during the renovations. I highly recommend Designation Property for any reno work you may have. You won't be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: DPM does a wonderful job making sure I have everything I need AND want to make me feel like my apartment is a home. They’re excellent with annual safety checks, very responsive, and are always willing to work with me. My apartment was newly renovated when I moved in, so they take initiative to keep the place looking super nice. They even put in a screen door to let in natural light and more airflow when I requested it. Love that it’s women-owned and everyone is so kind, respectful and reasonable!

Fantastic experience: One of the best management companies I’ve ever come across. You typically hear about horror stories about the lack of care from a management company when you’re a tenant but not here. From Ben, Neena, Olivia and the rest of the team each person I’ve dealt with listen to the requests made and immediately act upon it to ensure tenants are comfortable and secure within their living quarters. I’ve had experiences with other management companies that won’t care to follow up with requests or issues but rather blame individuals or make them live with the inconvenience and just collect their monthly rent. Great to work but even better people!!

Fantastic experience: We rented a home in Altadena through DPM and they were wonderful, always responsive and helpful. Sadly, that property burned down in the Eaton Fire but Olivia was so extremely helpful as we were experiencing that loss. She communicated with the homeowner and with us about the status of the home and when it was confirmed a total loss quickly got us out deposit and month’s rent back so we could have access to those funds immediately. Not only that but they sent us several open listings in area, one of which was a perfect fit for us and we were able to transfer and update our old paperwork and quickly secure a new lease. We moved into our new home on February 1st! We are so grateful that Olivia and Neena worked with us through such a terrible and challenging time and helped us to find a new, safe home so quickly. They also helped us get all the materials to the insurance company quickly. As stories of price gouging and predatory landlords came out in the weeks following the Eaton fire we know that we’ve have been especially lucky to have such kind, honest and helpful property managers on our side. I cannot recommend them enough. Hopefully you won’t experience natural disasters with the home you rent through DPM, but if you do, know you will be taken care of.

We have usually rented from corporate/large apartment rental businesses in the past, and this is the most responsive and effective management company we have had the pleasure of renting from. They usually respond to requests for maintenance within hours and somehow have technicians and plumbers reach out the same day for maintenance scheduling. Everything (uploading documents, application, rental agreement, etc.) is done through a secure and easy-to-use online portal. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

Fantastic experience: I've been living in a DPM home for over two years now, and I got to say, I feel lucky. While I'm constantly hearing coworkers complain about their sketchy landlords, I live in a home managed by truly good and kind people. Neena as well as Ben Keller have been so amazing whenever we've run into a problem in our home -- I am constantly shocked by the fast response and solutions they provide. We recently had an influx of bad luck in terms of appliances (no fault of DPMs, of course -- just the natural wear and tear of things that just happened to all happen at one), and Neena, Olivia, and Ben, were super fast to respond and either repair or replace the items. In a world full of disreputable and greedy landlords, Designation Property Management is a wonderful outlier, and I am constantly grateful I randomly stumbled across one of their properties and made it my home.

The handover experience was very smooth, and the online management system they use is very efficient and easy to use. The gardeners, the handyman Joe, everyone is very helpful and kind. I've been living here for four months now, and so far it has been a great experience!

Fantastic experience: Great group of guys that came by to fix a leaking pipe above my kitchen sink. Joe the handyman was very responsive and showed up on Christmas to repair the pipe until the plumbers were able to get here after the holiday. Cleaned up after themselves and just nice people!

It is a small team of incredibly dedicated, hardworking, and friendly folk. They were efficient at getting repairs done if needed. Sent monthly statements on time and cleaned the unit and had it looking just like the day it went on the rental market. From touring the apartment, applying, and moving in - Olivia was extremely communicative and quick during the entire process. As soon as I moved in, Joe and Ernie came in the next day to perform some quick and small repairs. Joe is a funny guy, and extremely friendly as well. Highly recommend hiring this company as your property manager if you're searching for one!

Neena is very responsive and you can tell she really cares about the vendors she chooses and the quality of work completed. Fantastic experience: The move in process was very fast and efficient. All members of this establishment was very kind and looking out for my roommates and I's best interest. Joe, our handy man! He has been very kind and always interested in accommodating our little needs every now and then. The place is beautiful and welcoming. Closets could use just a tad bit more shelving options. Overall, a very welcoming community and lots of communication through our group chat we have between other tenants when a service is being done!

Fantastic experience: I've lived in my rental unit in West Hollywood for 25 years now and have always been impressed with Neena and her team of contractors - specifically Joe Marino and Ernie as well. Recently there was water damage to the walls in the kitchen from leaking pipes (it's a 64 year old building). Neena's team had to replace much of the original Kitchen and worked with me to get Kitchen upgrades that I preferred instead of the minimum that they were required to do. The Kitchen came out great and I appreciate that it was upgraged to my liking and within my budget. I like the fact they will allow you to make improvements (with their approval) in the rental units. Fantastic experience: We have had the pleasure of working with Neena and her team on my mothers condo in Glendale, CA. The condo is old (built in the 60's) and was in need of several repairs before we could get it rented to a quality tenant. I scoured the internet trying to find a reputable property management company. There are several options out there, but it is difficult to find a company with a reputation for being experienced, honest, trustworthy, and reliable. Neena and her team have literally checked ALL of the boxes. She really does take the time to get to know her clients situation, what their specific needs are, and how she can put her expertise to work for them. From day 1, she has been in constant communication with us, keeping us informed of project timelines, providing specific input on needed repairs, and managing the day-to-day communication with all of the contractors. She even took the time to add her own personal touches with some of the interior details in the house (which was very much needed)! Once the repairs were completed, she wasted no time in getting it listed and put on the market for rent and within days she had it rented to a quality tenant. We are very grateful to Neena and her team for such a positive experience. It is indeed a wonderful feeling knowing that my mother and her property are in good hands. I've had a few normal issues over the course of my tenancy and she has always made me feel like I was in good safe hands. Everything has been dealt with promptly and with superb professionalism. Fantastic experience: I have rented many apartments/houses in various cities in my life—it has never been as easy or seamless of a process with Neena at Designation. From coordinating the viewing, meeting me for the showing, and making the application process quick and efficient, I can’t say enough good things about Neena! Joe is the handyman who coordinated with me for a few quick fixes as I moved in—he’s very friendly and easy to work with. I couldn’t believe how attentive he was to the place, as I’m used to property management companies not responding to you for weeks for simple repairs. This is not the case here—5/5 experience, happy to be renting from this company.
