We approached selling our home like a research project — using AI to dig into local agents' sales volume, references, team depth, and average list-to-close times — before inviting six agents in for structured, hour-long interviews. Liz was the first agent to call us back, and not by a little — by a lot. In fact, right out of the gate, when she went to reach me, she realized I'd accidentally transposed two digits in the phone number I'd given her. Instead of giving up or waiting for me to notice, she sleuthed it out and tracked down the correct number herself. That first offer got cold feet once the buyers saw the crowd Liz's strategy had generated, and we returned from the weekend to seven offers, ranging up to the low $900s, all with appraisal gap waivers and as-is terms. Liz also navigated a dual agency situation with real skill and fairness to both sides once the eventual buyers — who found us purely through her marketing — came in without their own representation. Although I don't plan on purchasing a new home soon, I will be contacting them again when the time comes and sending recommendations to everyone that needs a realtor.

Fantastic experience: Worked with the Leslie McDonnell Team, and it was an amazing experience. They ensured to stay on top of the timeline and check-in to make sure we were doing everything to have the smoothest and on-time closing of the property. We worked with Sheryl Engle when we were buying our property and she was responsive and extremely knowledgeable about aspects of houses we should look out for and details of the villages and communities. Sheryl was also very attentive and responsive to meet with some of the last minute requests we had for a few showings.

Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service!

Negative experience: Our experience was a negative one. Of course, the difficult old, moody, and picky owners, esp. a lady-spouse with British accent who tried to follow and boss us at our inspection and sell us her old furniture (incl. a coach with broken leg), and the old interior (rotten wood windows, etc.), cracked garage door, old huge ugly pine trees clogging the gutters with piles of needles, etc. was not Leslie's fault, but her communication was very sloppy and delayed. She delegated her cust. service manager, Jasmine Taylor, who seemed very lost. She was always late to respond and missed important communication, e.g. never confirmed our agent's e-mails about inspection and then asked to confirm the very inspection our agent e-mailed about twice. But the reason I even bothered to post a review about her at all was her unprofessional response to our Inspection Report findings and related request for credit. She called it "nit-picking" (probably quoted the lady owner). If nothing else, the agent should remain neutral and professional in her communication and refrain from the moody owners' labels and metaphors. Then they held our Earnest Money for some 10 days or so. Anybody can list a property and collect a commision check, but a true professional is more than that. But, perhaps, she can care less; I see her name on many For Sale signs, so all Vernon Hills and Lake County is in her pocket, so why worry about one bad review? Very bad impression...
