Fantastic experience: How do you go about selling the house you've lived in for 23 years in a way that respects the emotional ties you have to the property, but also identifies practical upgrades that need to be made before it's put on the market? Simple answer: hire Liz and Mike. That's what we did, and would do it again. Not only did they have a solid grasp of what was a mercurial real estate market, but they knew where to spend the least amount of money to attract the target buyer. Liz's initial walk-through formed the basis for the areas that needed attention. Her assessment was based on a keen understanding of what buyers were looking for and what we needed to do to get the property in shape. As it turned out, that assessment proved accurate based on the offers we got. However, it's one thing to identify improvements that need to be made, but what may have been the most helpful contribution to selling the house was Mike and Liz's list of honest and reliable contractors who got the job done within our timeframe at a reasonable price. When other realtors were telling us how difficult it would be to get the work done, Liz and Mike were making phone calls so we could line up estimates.
