Realty ONE Group Mountain Desert - Prescott

Negative experience: Our experience with Realty ONE while selling our home was very disappointing. At the time, our property was being used as an Airbnb, with guests staying in the units. During the listing, our first agent gave the buyer’s agent the access code to the property on more than three occasions, allowing the buyer’s agent to enter the units while our Airbnb guests were staying there. This created significant problems for us and our guests and was a serious concern throughout the process. When I brought this up the agent became angry and disinterested in helping us sell. Because of these issues, we decided to change agents within the same company. We then worked with Chris Pratt. Unfortunately, our experience with Chris was also disappointing. Communication was very limited, and when we reached the most important part of the transaction—when we received an offer and needed to negotiate through several counteroffers—I felt that we were left on our own. I directly asked Chris for his professional advice and asked what he would do if he were in our position, but he never gave us a clear answer or meaningful guidance. I also felt, based on our text conversations, that he was more focused on the buyers’ concerns than advocating for us as his clients. The home ultimately sold, but I we did not receive the level of representation, communication, negotiation, and guidance we expected from our listing agent. It's really important to have someone who is knowledgeable, on your side and looking for your best interest. This was not what we received from Chris.

Negative experience: It's such a shame to get on Facebook and see one of your agents trying to incite hate and threatening violence against another resident of Prescott. Simply for their political views. Jeff Martin has shown himself to be unprofessional ,ignorant and hateful. After hundreds of comments he took the post down. I have a screenshot in case anyone is interested. Everyone should boycott this agency and go find a local realtor who cares about the town, it's residents and the constitution.

Fantastic experience: Tim Hassler was an incredible realtor throughout our first home buying experience, and we truly could not have asked for someone more patient, knowledgeable, and dedicated. The process felt overwhelming at times, especially with changes in financing and all the moving parts that come with closing on a home, but Tim stayed committed to helping us every step of the way. He showed us countless homes all over the Verde Valley and never once made us feel rushed or pressured. He was always willing to answer questions, explain things thoroughly, and fight for what was best for us. We really appreciated how he stood by his word and genuinely cared about helping us get into the right home. There were definitely stressful moments during the process, but Tim stayed patient and continued pushing things forward. Even when things got complicated, we always felt like he truly wanted the best outcome for us. Now that we officially closed on our first home, we’re incredibly grateful we had Tim guiding us through such a huge milestone. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to buy a home in the Verde Valley area. Thank you again, Tim, for helping make this dream possible for us!

Fantastic experience: Heidi Marshall was professional and very patient in helping us find our dream retirement home earlier this year. In addition to arranging the closing company for us while living in another state, she went above-and-beyond in providing useful information regarding utility setup and suggested the Best Mr. Fix-It ever!!

Negative experience: Trash

Fantastic experience: The Danley team was so helpful from start to finish. Their guidance about which areas to focus on (things like Prescott vs. Prescott Valley) got us headed in the right direction. They were very flexible about meeting with us when we came to select a house and worked around our travel schedule. During the discussions with the seller they worked to help us get the house that we wanted and provided lots of guidance about which house options would be best for our needs. While the house was under construction they often went by and took videos to keep us updated on progress. Prior to closing they participated with us during the walk-through to point out things that needed to be taken care of prior to closing. It was a great experience to work with them and they made things simple for us.

Fantastic experience: Finding the right house is difficult but finding that without a great agent is near impossible. We are considering moving to Prescott or Chino Valley AZ. Since this will most likely will be our final home we are pretty set in our specifications. This makes it more challenging especially for an agent that might have limited time they can devote. Enter Tim Hassler from Realty ONE Group Mountain Desert Prescott 100 E Sheldon. Tim came highly recommended by a Broker/Realtor we trust. Tim Hassler was everything we were told. He was professional, detailed and a very hard worker. We started working through emails since we live out of state and he followed our instructions carefully. Some Agents don't seem to listen. They want to sell you any house and move on. This leads to hit and miss reviews and more people that settle for the wrong reason. Tim asked for our specifications and to rate them by importance. He knew we were serious but not in a hurry. He carefully screened each property and we came up with 6 possibles but none were hitting the mark but worth viewing. We drove to AZ to look at the properties and one by one shot then down. Some were close than others but left something that could not be overlooked. It was time well spent because we were able to target things. Not once did we feel Tim was annoyed because we had shared with him our wish list and items we might be flexible with. He really seemed to support our concerns and even stated it was more important to buy the right house than to be sorry later on. This is what makes Tim Hassler in our eyes a 5 Star Agent. It also means Realty ONE Group Mountain Desert Prescott is a great realty. Our friend who bought a house in Prescott Valley had also recommended Realty ONE so they must be doing something right. We will continue looking for our final house and Tim will be our agent because he cares about my wife and I finding something we will not regret. If you want a great agent that listens and cares about you buying a house you won't regret picking Tim Hassler Realty ONE Group Mountain Desert. I write a lot of reviews for Google because I feel it is extremely important to share with other what you find. While I have not included photos this time ( maybe next time) I have almost 750,000 hits on Google. So I am serious about my reviews and always give you my true opinion. Walter Dean

Fantastic experience: Listed our home with “ Chris Bratt.” As out of state sellers, we needed a Realtor we could really rely on to handle everything required to take good care of our home and get it sold. Communication with Chris was always easy. We found Chris Bratt to be honest, reliable, and trustworthy.

Fantastic experience: Having experienced several significant life changes in close succession and already feeling completely overwhelmed, I had to sell my house to get a loan for an out-of-state house. I had a very short time frame to accomplish this. Kathi Rafters jumped right in, guided me beautifully, and priced my house right. She actually recruited her family to clean out my barn while I was out of state for my mother’s funeral. They also pitched in when I had to pack up the contents of my house, barn, and connex box (and even did dump runs). Even though I was in a hurry to sell, she wisely suggested we slow down and make the house show-ready before we opened it up to realtors and potential buyers because first impressions go a long way, and she wanted me to get the most profit from the sale. She listed the house as Coming Soon to get the ball rolling. During this time, I was traveling back and forth from AZ to CA, and the house itself presented several challenges. Kathi contacted all the vendors, coordinated their visits, and oversaw repairs. She arranged a deep cleaning and had a beautiful video produced showing off the house and property. Several vendors informed me that they had chosen Kathi to sell their properties because they saw how wonderfully she cared for their clients. When the house was ready to be seen, I got a full-price offer within hours of going live on the MLS. We accepted the first offer, and it was smooth sailing from there. Thirty days later, we closed, and the money was wired to my bank. Just as crucial as Kathi’s knowledge, resourcefulness, and professionalism was her ability to keep me calm. I had never taken on such a massive endeavor on my own, and with her, I never felt alone. She patiently explained everything to me along the way. She was easy to reach and communicated with me at every turn. I truly felt taken care of. I could not have created a better realtor to help me sell my house if I tried. After my experience, I don’t see why anyone would use anyone else!

Negative experience: Here is my review from the buyer’s perspective of a property in which Cheryl Henderson is the listing agent for through Realty One Group. My wife and I had submitted an offer and had asked our realtor to check on its status so we could arrange time off for inspections in the event our offer was accepted during the Covid19 pandemic. My wife worked at a hospital out of state at the time so getting time off was difficult. We were told that our offer was in the top consideration but since we only had our realtor and local friends view the home and send us videos, Cheryl added that our offer would be pulled if we did not see the home in person by Saturday at 2 pm when offers were being presented as there were multiple offers. Despite having just returned from Prescott earlier that week previewing property, my wife and I dropped everything and drove 6 hours each way to meet this added condition that was not in the listing and should have been the seller’s choice versus Cheryl’s choice over a concern that she did not want to do a lot of paperwork and that we may change our minds. We made the drive only to be told later Saturday that we were second after seeing the home. I will say she was thorough, as she called during our viewing to see if we were there, which I found odd and others were viewing the home despite the fact that it was pretty much sold already and wasting their time as well. Later I was told by our realtor that our offer had not been accepted and that our 12 hour commute was summed up by Cheryl “As it is just business.” Oddly I cannot understand how Zillow had it marked pending that same Saturday within about 2 hours of our showing as the house we eventually bought took Zillow days to reflect it was pending. Well I will sum up that callous attitude and share it as a review for future consideration of others. If our offer was second or even presented to the seller, I simply would have told the buyer, you are in second so if the first offer falls out why don’t you drive out and make sure this is for you. A simple resolution that was a courteous consideration that would have resulted in a better review of your conduct and would have left us considering being a backup offer. The first buyer fell out within 10 days but Cheryl never reached out to our agent to pursue the same full price offer as the first buyer as one would expect from a good agent but she had already ruined any chance of us considering working with her. While we moved to the same area, I would never consider using Cheryl Henderson for the sale of my home as this behavior would cost the seller any back up bids if she treats others like this. In fact, as we remodel our home with plans to retire out of state in a few more years she is not even welcome to view the house with a potential buyer.

Fantastic experience: This isn't about a home sale or purchase. I was traveling in Dewey/ Humboldt in my 25 ft RV and came up to the flooded section on Prescott road trying to reach my overnight stay. The water was moving fast. I wasn't going to chance it. My RV is very low. Heather was 2 vehicles behind me. She offered to show me the route around. Wow! That is someone who goes above and beyond!! Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful realty company! The associate brokers, Trish Purcell and Corey Johannsen were courteous, professional and had excellent communication skills in showing me a beautiful rental today. I hope to do further business with them. Michelle Arnold

Negative experience: Jeff from Realty one went on a fishing expedition and sent a text message to my widowed mother and me. He started the text with Hello Charles, This is Jeff with Realty One in Prescott. I saw that you were interested in selling a home. I would love to talk to you some more about it. When is a good time to chat? If you are looking to sell, I can help. My business partner and I sell about 300 homes per year! Charles is my dead dad. My mom politely informed Jeff that he was dead. Jeff then said well are you interested in selling the land? In the future when you are cold messaging and fishing for people, train your team to know that in these situations it’s better to offer condolences and leave it at that than showing that they are mental deficit in human emotion. On the bright side, it is nice seeing a company hire someone who is a member of the Down’s syndrome community.

Fantastic experience: I really like the care Joanie Timmerman is giving my condo for sale. She is terrific at communicating about the process and giving me advice on pricing and when to put the unit on the market. She swiftly got the sign up and key box to the unit. I just need to sit back and wait for the offers to roll in.

Negative experience: I would NEVER do business with Trish Miller!!! My son called to list his lot and then use her to purchase a home. She made an appointment with him and then not only did she not show, she didn't even call or apologize for not showing. I don't care if your commission is $3,000 or $30,000 you don't treat people or do business this way. We will never do business with her or this company and plan to tell EVERYONE to stear clear and don't ever go here unless you don't mind being treated disrespectfully. Wish I could give you all a zero. How do you stay in business? I wouldn't want employees like Trish Miller working for me.

Fantastic experience: Beyond a shadow of a doubt, we simply believe there is no better agent than Jennifer Fanchin! She is a powerfully positive and loving person wrapped and a dynamic and tenacious realtor. She maintains a consistent strong focus for her client’s best interest, holding their hand and guiding them with positivity every step of the way. She is fearless and focused and ever serving! We’ve never met anyone who can do this job as beautifully and thoroughly as she does it! She oversees all elements of the transaction with the care and attention of a mama bear for her cubs, yet a consummate professional at every turn. We are so very grateful for her!

Positive experience: We have our home listed For Sale By Owner and have asked that realtors refrain from soliciting our business. An agent at Realty One Group Mountain Desert located in Prescott, AZ has called our home three times this week! My wife spoke to the agent two of the three times (Keira Gannon) and even after my wife stated, "we don't want a realtor" Keira continued to question her. Why would anyone hire a realtor that doesn't understand what NO means? I shouldn't judge the entire group due to one bad apple! I have edited my review since the owner took the time to listen to my issues with this agent.
