Negative experience: Updating to include: this is what will happen to your packages. Concierge gone with no warning. Families are waiting and there has been a sign up all day stating they'll arrive at 7:00pm. 7:00pm has came and went. Do not move here. We have had nothing but problems, inconsistency, and a general lack of communication. Concierge is not 24/7 and often not present for their supposed hours. The fire alarm in the building has gone off 7 times since we've moved in due to faulty equipment. Information only garnered from the fire department since there has been no communication. Nextgen Realty, the company that the Grid utilizes, lied multiple times about parking and other important details until we already were signed and stuck. There is no guest parking. The streets have been shut down multiple times. The 24/7 gym reeks to even walk by. There is constant trash in the front of the building. It is not worth it.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We take resident concerns seriously and will be reaching out to you directly to discuss your experience and address your concerns.

Negative experience: Never anyone at the desk. Called the number provided and you can hear the ring behind the desk

Negative experience: Do not recommend. There are many different things to consider before moving here. Parking is 150$ and they do not do a good job at salting or plowing so good luck getting out the lot on an inclined hill on Main. The central AC is not switched on until mid June and apartment temps will rise to 90 starting in May so be ready to invest into a portable AC which will cost over $300. No oven. No screens for your windows. Roaches as big as a pointer finger. Always issues with the water and the laundry room in 507 is disgusting.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been living at The Grid for about two years now. I’m 27 years old, and it’s in a perfect spot for people in their 20s especially. The Mexican Restaurant (Rio Viejo) attached to the main building is amazing, the Japanese restaurant next to The Grid (Chashu Ramen), boba tea, coffee shops everywhere, Mercantile restaurant, the library, multiple gyms, yoga studio, and more are all within a short walking distance. Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s is 10 minutes away, Target, TJ Maxx, Walmart also all within 10 minutes away. The staff at The Grid care about their tenants and will address any issues (maintenance needed, or anything else) promptly. If you ask for Sarah, she’ll get it done. I grew up in a quiet nice neighborhood, and the only thing that really bothers me about this area in Worcester is the homelessness. If you go to any city, that’s going to come up (I lived in Boston before this), and you just have to mind your business. I haven’t had any issues since being here.

Negative experience: RUN AWAY FAST! This place is disgusting and exhausting...If I had another option right now I would move. Its inexpensive for a reason. When I first moved in a lil over a year ago it was pretty good, 24hrs security and clean....Now, homeless people rush the doors to get in....They pee and vomit in the hallway. No more security....Unresponsive management, constant staff turnover...When I moved in I was told the patio at the restaurant downstairs could get a lil nosey in the summer, LIES! They have club nights Thursday through Sunday, loud music way past midnight. They don't turn off the music half the time. One night the music played on blast till 3:00 pm the next day. Oh and the cops don't even bother comingfor noise complaints here...the building fire alarm goes off at least twice a month in the middle of the night...The elevator has been broken for 6 Months, no Joke! NO EXAGGERATION. OUT SINCE 11/13/25! So good luck moving in or out i guess!...People do not pick up after their pets, dog crap and fur in the halls. The laundry marchines are covered in dog hair. Most days there's trash, discarded vapes, and random stuff in the stair wells and hall. Oh and now theres needles on the sidewalks everyday. Its honestly worse than a housing project because at least there you barely pay rent. Like I was not expecting luxury, I know theres alot of students and people just starting out on their own but this place is so poorly maintained its unbelievable. The only place kept in decent shape is the main buildings lobby at 50 Franklin, thats where the management/ rental office is, so basically they trick you into thinking its a decent place and raise rent every year, no matter what.

Fantastic experience: So far so good! I am moving into a unit now and so far, the process has been very smooth. Chris Perchard has been a delight to work with and has made this process easy peasy! I really appreciate his time and the other team members who have helped answer my questions so far. :)

Thank you for your kind review. We’re pleased to hear the process has been smooth. We hope you enjoy The Grid as much as we do!

Fantastic experience: I lived in building 517 and had a great experience living under Grid Management. From start to finish, everything was handled with professionalism, care, and clear communication. I am especially thankful for Sarah, who was absolutely amazing throughout my time there. She was always helpful, patient, and incredibly supportive, guiding me through every step of the process and making sure I felt comfortable and informed at all times. Her kindness, and willingness to help made such a positive difference and truly set this experience apart. I would highly recommend Grid Management to anyone looking for a place.

Fantastic experience: Management is very good and responsive. Be sure to document issues and report them because management will respond promptly and address the issue unlike other management companies I have had. I lived here for 4 years . You cannot hear your neighbors above you which is great. Great views of park, great location. I was very happy with my 4 years at the grid. Thanks for everything guys!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely a great place for almost anything!!!!

Gabby Perelmuter Published on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Have lived her for four years and am moving out this month. They got new management in March and it seems they’re even worse compared to the previous. The hallways consistently smell of marijuana (we all signed no smoking leases). There are no dumpsters behind the main building so people leave trash everywhere and so hallways constantly smell of trash and weed. Dogs relieve themselves on the side of the building so you are met with a hefty smell upon exit. The garage doors have been broken for three months and the finally “fixed it” and didn’t offer any compensation. The garage also floods every single time it rains so you have to dodge the puddles and sometimes it’s impossible and you get met with greasy water on the way to the parking spot you pay 200 dollars a month for. If you park in their parking lots there are people constantly getting their cars broken in to. They got rid of the 24/7 concierge. At lease one piece of gym equipment is always broken, there isn’t even much in there to begin with. The laundry room is consistently a mess, not one dryer will get your stuff dry in one load. I had a leak in August that resulted in mold damage and maintenance painted over it two times and all of the paint has since bubbled and chipped off so I have three bubbled walls with paint torn off at the moment. Ultimately, you would be better off moving anywhere else in Worcester for the money they are charging. There are truly no benefits to living here and I wouldn’t wish even my worst enemy to live in this apartment building. Run away as fast as you can.

Fantastic experience: BIG SHOUT OUT TO KYLIE (Who works in the main office of The Grid at 50 Franklin St.)!!!! She figured out my parking garage issue, she was able to hear me out when it wasn’t the easiest and still followed through with the necessary change to ensure I was happy….this girl rocks!

Negative experience: Management recently decided to get rid of the overnight concerige.since there is no more overnight concerige it’s harder to get packages and the lobby in the main building is less secure cause of that. I’ve literally seen random people climb over the front desk to get into the area where the apartments are located. 70% of the dryers don’t work and repeatedly asking magaement to get them fix has fallen on deaf ears. Management has also decided to take what was the study room and turn it into the office cause they needed more space. The roof leaks in my section of the building and they know that it does and haven’t replaced the roof. The rent is outrageous for what they want.

Fantastic experience: I like it here Maintenance requests have been filled pretty quickly The staff is always helpful if I have questions Amazon packages are kept indoors to protect them from the heat & cold _______________ Also, one day I was having some car trouble, and Kylie, Kristy, Katie, and Sarah were super helpful. They helped me with everything that I needed help with.

Negative experience: Lived here for 3 years. Raised the rent each year and nothing had ever been improved. Floors were slanted, staff was rude, packages got stolen. $200 heating bill for a studio apartment. Someone tried to break into my car in the parking garage. There were days in the winter that homeless people would be sleeping in the hallways and it didn't bother me because I knew they were less likely to steal from me than the scumbags that actually run this place. I've never felt happier that the day I moved out of this dump

S S Published on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: RUN!!!! SUMMARY: pictures says it all!! Run down, dirty, NO response from management ever and $$$$ for the poor quality you get!!! Roof fell on my car in garage. Their response was “we’re sorry but we’re not going to fix it”.Yet they charge you $200/mth extra for parking!!! Upstairs neighbor flooded my roof and I told them I was afraid roof May fall if not two day maybe next time. Their response was “not sure which house it is but we will be back”. Not only did they not come back, they did not touch or fix anything. Broken windows and maintainance guy came and replied “oh you don’t want to fix this it will take corporate too long and they have to put wood in the mean time etc” and I said yes please I would like to. They never gotten back to me to this day. They told me it’s ho to me to fix the window. 3 of my mails have gone missing despite amazon saying “signed by front concierge” but they refuse to investigate. Doors unlocked where public can enter. I’m afraid for my family’s safety. Gates break down all the time left unfixed. Cars broken into in gated garage. 3 RATS infestation later and problem not fixed. They told me they can give me sticky pads to catch the mice but want me to take out the dead mice by myself instead of fixing the issue. I smelled so many dead bodies for so long and kept calling them to help with finding some dead mouse somewhere but they told me it wasn’t urgent. 3 more times I called them at 3 different times of the year, they told me some “exterminator” came but could not provide me with a report of what they did. Found out later that two exterminator companies have gone MIA?! Good luck if you’re trying to find the leasing manager. This is their 20th time changing managers even they cannot keep up with their jobs. When you call corporate in Boston they’ll never get back to you. I even called the CEO but he pun it back to the manager.. who? To be honest I wouldn’t mind if they lower the rent. Right now their rent is comparable to a lot of neighboring apartments which are newer with a pool etc! Unacceptable living conditions.

Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of interacting with Mary while signing a lease for my new apartment, and I must say, her professionalism made the entire process a breeze. Mary’s reliability stood out from the very beginning; she was always available to answer any questions and address concerns promptly. Her focus on her job ensured that all paperwork was handled efficiently, and every detail was clearly explained, leaving no room for confusion. It's nice working with a self-managed building.

Fantastic experience: Great move in experience! David is very accommodating and helped expedite everything.

Alexa Silva Published on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Literally the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. The building itself is disgusting, and management only pays to have the lobby cleaned apparently. There are no ‘amenities’ as mentioned in other reviews (except a dirty gym and laundry room that is falling apart). The cost of rent is absurd, and you can get much nicer apartments in better condition downtown for the same cost. Even the leasing agents know they can’t rent out the units at these prices! If you do move in make sure you budget for electric costs, because it is cold in the winter and HOT in the summer due to old windows they refuse to update. Don’t even get me started on what a nightmare parking is…

Kyle P. Published on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Been here for two years and it has been a subpar experience the whole time. Trash rooms get filled to the point you can’t open the door. The elevator’s constantly smell like dog piss and you fear for your life the entire time you’re in them. In the laundry room about 60% of the dryers don’t dry your clothes, and good luck finding out which ones because the building removes any tenant-made notices telling others. The gym is basically a collection of different dumbbells and broken machines. The city tickets this block relentlessly, including a nonsense 2 AM - 6 AM “snow ban” during the winter, even on days when there is no snow in the forecast. I really could go on, and on, and on. The only thing that has been guaranteed since living here? Them raising their prices for absolutely no reason other than greed.

Negative experience: Do not move here. On 10/09/23 I had a package delivered to and signed by reception and they even sent me a picture of it. When I went to pick it up there was nothing. Again on 11/08/23 with a different package, signed for by reception and they sent a picture but there was nothing there. How are my packages missing from your mail room? I was told I could contact Amazon to say it never arrived. Really? They proved they delivered it. What is happening to my mail?

John Hasslene Published on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: DO NOT LIVE HERE. I had a rodent infection that lasted for over 6 months before they finally said they were going to "fix it the right way". I had to throw away hundreds of dollars worth of personal items because mice had built a nest. Once found human feces in the atrium that went over 2 weeks before it was cleaned. And when it came to my security deposit - it took them over 7 weeks to return it to me...which is illegal. Management does not care about anything and are never responsive. If I could give a negative 5 stars - I would.

Negative experience: The most unprofessional rental company I've ever worked with. They applied my last months rent 6 weeks AFTER it was due. Now I have a (false) late payment on my credit report and they refuse to answer any calls or emails to resolve this.

Sarah Richichi Published on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Do NOT sign a lease here. I know it’s a great location and the photos look nice, but that changes as soon as you move in. The heating bills in the winter are outrageous, over $400 for a studio apartment. No AC. The trash rooms are not well maintained, as they are always overflowing with trash. I had roaches in my apartment for months although I am a very sanitary person. I had to clear out EVERYTHING from my kitchen and bathroom and leave my apartment with my dog for multiple hours while they sprayed before they were finally eliminated. A friend of mine who also lived at the Grid and moved out found rat poop on items stored in her closet.

Kea Francis Published on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Typical bait and switch. Only a few hours after accepting my application for an apartment all of the rent prices were raised on the apartments. I attempted to contact management twice to find out what happened, but was unable to get a response. Will update review later assuming I'm able to get feedback.

Negative experience: Had photo proof that maintenance was in my apartment while I was not home. I have not put in a maintenance request since September 2022 and it was related to my kitchen sink. Left building a message looking for explanation, no response, put in a maintenance request advising only that I left a voicemail and inquired if someone could call me back. Woman in the office laughed when I brought up my concerns. Was told by an employee to email the “lead concierge” my concerns. Emailed her with photo proof and time stamps, no reply, sent follow up no reply. Confirmed by two employees that maintenance was in my apartment fixing my heat, which had absolutely nothing wrong with it. No maintenance request has been put in since September, no one called me or asked for permission to enter my apartment either way. “Management” is extremely unprofessional here.

Negative experience: Unprofessional staff. Buildings are not clean. Untreated mouse problem in my apartment for three months, getting their help is like pulling teeth.

Brie Marie Published on Google 3 years ago

Positive experience: I lived at The Grid on 507 Main Street. With living in a major city there is going to be some chaos however I am not sure why other people’s problems were not solved. My parking spot was always taken and they would tow people for me immediately, a man tried to follow me and my dog into the building and the security guard escorted me to my building, even with all of the chaos outside I always felt safe as soon as I was home. With being able to walk to bars it saved my partner and I a lot of money when they would come visit on parking and such. Overall the only things that were annoying was the noise, the parking lot always being a bit chaotic even though I paid for it and my lack of an oven. Overall a great place to live and be young and living on your own!

Negative experience: Poor property management. The Worcester Housing Authority has a better rating than this "community", look for yourself. Tons of reviews on how they don't fix anything or take a long time to get anyone to fix it. Sure it's a convenient location and looks good with a fresh coat of paint, but if something breaks.... good luck.

Heather Published on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Slum. Laundry room is garbage. Property manager ignores calls to fix literally anything. My light has been out for weeks, and my outlets have been out since a pipe burst months ago (PM actually came by after to tell me that the kitchen is "designed to be filled with water" and encouraged me to consume whatever leaks from the water boiler in the apartment above me) and my kitchen isn't suitable to store food. My rent was raised in the midst of this. The office staff are useless/absent

Negative experience: Non-responsive. Never sent me my lease for move-in and then put the unit back on the market and took my deposit. Horrible management.

Ada Cook Published on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: We’re fed up with this place. It’s hard enough trying to find an apartment in this economy, but when a potential place cancels on you for no reason, that’s just rude. The Grid owns multiple apartment buildings in multiple towns, so you’d expect them to be professional and deferential to potential renters. Nope. Both me and my S.O. have been cancelled on MULTIPLE times by their admin or leasing agent. They literally just messaged us to confirm two appointments to see places, then not even 5 mins later they cancelled with no explanation or apology. I’m honestly baffled that they’re so successful and in business if they cancel potential renters this often. We were really hopeful and this is just one time too many. Don’t contact them, it’s a waste of your time and patience.

Negative experience: 507 main street apartment complex is the worst place to live. the elevators are frequently down and if they are working only one of them works. the fire alarm also goes off randomly at the middle of the nights or early in the mornings. can never sleep and always go off for more than 30 minutes. the only perk to living here is that it’s location is in downtown. i would never recommend this place to anyone. the rent is way too high for a place like this.

Jenny Herman Published on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: Unable to talk to anyone via phone, I received a text that they only offer virtual visits. It is May 2022 and in person visits should be offered. I will not rent sight unseen and should not be expected to do so. Now they say I can visit in person but not on Fri, Sat or Sun and must be before 3:30pm on M - Th and need to complete full application before an appt is granted. I am ok to provide basic info in advance, maybe you need to see my 800+ credit score but full application is a bit much. I see there are many units available. Perhaps the process should be easier...

Ayo Published on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: The concierge are very friendly and do excellently in relating with the people who live at the Grid, while the management are kind people who have helped me a lot. I used to be seriously annoyed at pet-owners not picking up after their dogs but the Grid or the city installed pet trash cans on each block and have street cleaners regularly cleaning the street, which has allowed me to resume fall street running around the residence without stress. Even when I discontinued running outside the spacious, highly equipped, and well-machined gym was what I resorted to, since it is open 24/7. They have ample Purell wipe dispensers in each section of the gym for cleaning machines, mats, and equipment. The size of some of the apartments are small but you're paying for a centralized location with bus access, as bonus. I prize living alone rather than with acquaintances, antagonistic roommate(s), or strangers above the stress of marginally more space with roomies. I don't regret my decision to stay. For those without a car, the Gala market and restaurants are walking distance, the bus is down the corner (5 min from the apartment building) and there are multiple stops everywhere around here. Cons include, too loud music and shouting can be heard occasionally, depending on the neighbor assigned, but it's quiet for a city. "Hemp" sometimes odorizes the hallway on a floor or more, but one can walk fast to avoid it. It doesn't enter any apartment if you don't want to smell it. Overall, first class for my highly restricted budget. Maintenance always got back within the week and adhered to my request not to enter except I answer the door. I had about 4-7 maintenance calls with everything resolved, timely response and updates. No problem. I also loved that there was no mold in my apt. and they had someone come through the floor to test all the apartments for mold etc. In final period, they rapidly produced my security deposit and also management was extremely considerate in making recommendations when I was moving in and out.

Eileen Published on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: The major pro is location and the interior is visually appealing although all of the materials are of poor quality. Buildings are not well kept up or cleaned frequently enough. The water damage pictured below has been left at 26 Portland for almost a month and the ceilings leak every time it rains. Maintenance requests are not addressed in a timeline manner and have to be made several times and the customer service is always mediocre. Other apartment buildings nearby in similar price range seem nicer.

Zeyu Zhang Published on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: I really really enjoy living in this apartment. The apartment is clean and comfortable, I also like the decoration style of the apartment. In addition, the fitness center is free and open 24/7 so I can work out at any time.

Michael Miller Published on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: My car was broken into while renting a private parking garage space owned by the grid. Window smashed, personal possessions stolen only to have management revoke my spot because I complained about the garage door being stuck open for weeks on end and the “keypad locked” doors not closing fully. They didn’t do any repairs to any of the doors until my car was broken into and the worst part was they had the new parts ON HAND, meaning they could’ve resolved the problem beforehand. Told me I would have to cover the damages. On top of that, the building is so poorly maintained that there’s abundant black mold, terrible water pressure no matter the floor and leaks anytime there’s more than a drizzle outside. DO NOT RENT FROM THE GRID

Positive experience: Fairly decent spot that's local. A bit overpriced, but ideal location if you don't readily have transportation and must rely on public transportation. Elevators can be iffy, whatevs. And I owe them a big debt of gratitude for not rushing rent and giving me a little leeway when I lost my father. Biggest complaint [for me and many others] is the central air and heat schedule, man. One thing I learned is Worcester gets crazy cold during the winter months but hellishly hot during late spring/summer months. I certainly hope in the near future the dates can be reprogrammed to accommodate the needs of the tenants [and their children/pets] to prevent hypothermia/hyperthermia. *Get a portable a/c and bake goods during the cold months to keep your apartment regulated during inclimate weather conditions*

Valeria Rios Reyes Published on Google 5 years ago

Negative experience: Wouldn’t know how to begin, I was super anxious two months ago before moving in to my apartment at the grid, so far all I’ve had a terrible experience. Elevators are terrible, I live on the 6th floor and have a two year old most mornings I have to walk 6 flight of stairs because elevators Do Not function properly. I’ve called various times can’t ever get a hold of them. I changed my address to receive my mail and for some reason I haven’t been able to receive any of my packages or mail. Very disappointed !!

Roy Buchler Published on Google 5 years ago

Negative experience: There are many more places in Worcester that you can live. I suggest that you don't give your money to this company. If you have any issues with your apartment, it will be ignored. In fact, if you try to bring it up, you will get harassed by the manager. Most of the buildings are cheaply built and not well maintained. The walls are thin and you'll be able to hear other conversations. Lack of heating is a big issue in some of the buildings in the winter, and you will be lucky to find a washing machine working properly.

Fantastic experience: I have not moved in as of yet. I can not speak as a current Resident but I have signed a lease and will be living at the grid over the next year. The apartments are a little dated on the outside but very cute on the inside, the area is like a small version of boston commons. Location is 2 minutes off the highway. I wanted to comment on how awesome Francesca C. Has been through out the showing / signing process. She took us around showed us all the units we wanted to see plus more , Francesca has made this experience super easy, fast , and convenient. She is friendly and professional and upbeat. She has assisted me with all of the questions I have had , shes gone out of her way to provide me with information on the area to ease in my moving and set up process . I will come back to update my review as a tenant , but for now I just cant stress how great Francesca has been through out this process ! Thank you!!

Negative experience: I honestly would have giving a better review, because I didn’t mine the Grid apartments. But, after talking to this girl named “Bianca” or “Brianna”....I will not recommend this apartment building. My boyfriend and I broke up after living in our apartment, he wanted to take over the lease & we both agreed. But trying to set up a meeting to sign a new lease was like pulling teeth. “Bianca” or “Brianna” was so rude, gave me the wrong email for the property manager, and was talking down to me. I was already upset about this situation, but this girl dragged it out & made the process so much harder.

Positive experience: Extremely easy leasing process. My leasing agent was Francesca. She was a great resource for any questions I had and was very quick to respond to anything I needed.

Fantastic experience: So far so great, moved in recently and had the best experience. Francesca made the process so easy and she is on top of any concern or question I may have immediately with a positive attitude. I recommend using her as your agent if at all possible especially if this is your first place!

Fantastic experience: I just moved into Portland on the Grid, the leasing experience was easy and Francesca was amazing! She has continued to be great! Quick responses and so helpful with any questions I have or assistance I need. So far me and my pup absolutely love living here, our apartment is beautiful, the AC works amazing, and the hot water/water pressure has been reliable. I have been able to take a quick walk to dinner and had a variety of choices!

Positive experience: Alright I’ve lived here for about a year now and I can say personally there aren’t many complaints. Yes the elevator in the back goes out sometimes but there is 2 other elevators and it’s usually fixed pretty quick, yes the Ac in the lobby is not working. Sure the fire alarms go off once every month maybe. But all around it’s a solid place to live. Sure the price is higher but that’s the way Worcester is going. I don’t know where the problems with management and maintenance guys come from but it’s a very laid back environment and it’s never been a problem. The maintenance in the building is absolutely awesome from my experience I’ve never waited more than a day to get something fixed. My apartment has been in good order and everything works fine. Everyone I’ve dealt with has been helpful and friendly honestly.

Fantastic experience: Just moved into The Grid, my 1BR apartment is very nice, clean and inside parking is a plus. Francesca is wonderful to work with, she is very efficient, polite, works hard and is great at what she does. I would recommend this place for sure.

Fantastic experience: The best way to live downtown. They are very affordable(compared to most downtown living areas). They allow pets and are very accommodating to your needs as a tenant. Whenever we had a repair needed, maintenance was in the day I placed the ticket. The concierge is very friendly and accommodating as well. They'll lend you a dolly when moving stuff around. Give you a hand with the door when bringing in groceries. I needed a place within close proximity to the train station and this is the place we went with and couldnt have been more happier with our decision. Going to miss the downtown living but work has pulled us away again. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: My time at the Grid was collectively one of the worst experiences. Throughout the stint that I spent there, I continuously asked for the elevators to be evaluated, as they are dangerous and unreliable. Many nights they remained stuck on the 8th floor and would not return to the bottom, so I had to trek up the stairs to my residence. I felt as if the office staff is not fully equipped to handle all that is going on at the grid. If you ever call with a question, good luck. You are either getting a voicemail or the phone will continue to ring. In the event that they do answer, the concern will be sent to the property managers voicemail. Additionally, I decided to move out early and turned in my keys to the management team about a month before my lease end. In this event, they used my apartment for showings to a majority of prospective residents. How do I know? I got on average 10-15 emails a day saying "showing scheduled" or "showing canceled". I tried to stress this concern , but guess what? I got the property managers voicemail. However, when I called back to say I wanted to speak to someone actually there, I got the assistant property managers voicemail. Overall, I have lived in many apartment complexes through my time in college and starting my career. The grid was overall my worst experience and I wouldn't recommend staying there.

Fantastic experience: Great place with professional and friendly folks who are there to help 24/7. You don't get turned away with any questions or requests. Office, security and maintenance people are all there to make your day go better.

Positive experience: I had lived at The Bancroft for about two years, and one of the primary reasons was because the folks I worked with in the management office were very accommodating and were willing to work with me to make my time in the building as comfortable as possible. All members of the staff were great to work with and were always very friendly. It was also great to share the building with the players from the Mass Pirates. Going to miss living there, but I may be back. :)

Fantastic experience: My whole experience was awesome! Usually apartment hunting is a nightmare but working with Susannah it was a breeze. She was wicked patient with us with all of our questions and in checking (and rechecking) that we had everything in order to get me into my unit ASAP! I was extremely happy with the entire process and now in my beautiful apartment! Looking for a place pop into their leasing office & I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: The Grid is a great place to live. The location is right in the center of downtown Worcester which makes it very convenient for a lot of things. The staff is great and always so helpful whenever I have a problem with my apartment. Maintenance is great as they attend to my requests in a quick manor. The concierge/security is also an amazing plus to the building. They are very friendly and easy to approach and talk to. They put a lot of work into the building as it looks beautiful, free WiFi in the lobby which is extremely convenient. Pet friendly which is great for dog and cat lovers like myself. The free payments on trash and water also save myself some money monthly. It’s also nice that they have their own brand of restaurants Craft, Revolution, The Beer Garden, WooHaHa, which all residents have a discount at! Just a lively area on the weekends, it’s fantastic for people who like going out for a few drinks just to kick it back! Been here for a few years and just enjoy everything!

Negative experience: The worst maintenance and managment ever. It took them forever just to come and change the battery to my fire alarm, which makes a chirping sound until the battery is charged. The elevator has not been inspected since 2017, liscense expired 2018. Now instead of fixing it they just removed the expired certificate from the elevator. It took them a week after we moved in for them to paint over the scratches which they said would be done before we moved in. When we moved in, during winter, our heater didnt work and their solution was to give us a desk heater to warm our whole apartment. So we had to buy our own heater of course so we wouldn't freeze to death. The maintenance constantly has a attitude about having to actually do their jobs which they are already late to. Honestly not worth the $1200 to live here.

Negative experience: Management is terrible. Everything in apartment was broken. Nothing was ever fixed properly. Have contacted management numerous times. Communication is poor. No hospitality at all. Was supposed to get 2 months free rent, that never happened. Honestly, I feel stupid for ever living here. Not worth the money. Just terrible.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy living at the Grid apartments near the downtown area of Worcester. The out side veiw from my bedroom window is a gorgeous glance of how the bright lights is a glips of the historic scenery view of the park and many of the down-town shopping center(s)and restaurant(s) just minutes, walking distance from the residency. I've been living hear now at the Grid apartment for the past 4 months in a studio apartment. I absolutely love it! and find cozinesss of my apartment relaxing. The people are very friendly and admiring. If you are looking for a quiet and cozy place near the historic down-town area of Worcester The Grid is thumbs- ☝it's quiet and the Grid even has a workout room and a lounge where the residency are welcomed. to. If you just want gangout in the lounge and watch tv or read its a great place to live. ☺ Mr. Green

Fantastic experience: I moved to the Grid Park Plaza about a year ago and love the location and apartment. It's convenient, convenient, convenient... to work, City Hall and the downtown area with lots of dining and drinking establishments in the area. If I want to get a nice meal, there are ramen, sushi, Chinese, American, pizza, pub and farm to table restaurants and pubs all within walking distance. A beautiful beer garden is right around the corner! The Worcester common is right across the street and currently there's ice skating out there (not that I ice skate) During the warmer months they have bands, festivals and soon the Red Sox AAA farm club will be building a stadium right around the corner. I'm also about 100 steps from the Hanover theatre for plays, about 400 steps to Mechanics Hall for classical vocal and musical performances and the DCU center for more major concerts is also only a "stones throw" away. Recently , a new comedy club opened up in the 50 Franklin building plus a couple of new restaurants. Older residents have told me that this downtown area used to be very vibrant years ago, and the vibrancy is really coming back and quickly. Plus banking, small shops and night spots are all within walking distance. As for the apartments themselves, they are very affordable, comfortable and refreshingly below the high prices of Boston. In the entire time, I've lived here, I've had only one minor maintenance issue and it was fixed within an hour. The tenants in my building keep relatively to themselves and are quiet. I've previously lived in places where I had my own washer and dryer. The apartments in my building do not have washers and dryers in the apartments but have a common area for doing laundry in the building. It's a minor inconvenience, and the open hours are extremely generous (I'm not sure if the other buildings have washer/dryers in them). . The staff is very friendly and accommodating and security/concierge is available 24/7 if they are needed. I love shooting pool for a hobby, so literally the only thing I need to leave the area for is that... and there's a pool hall within 3.5 miles. If you like convenience, I'd highly recommend the Grid apartments if moving to the area. I haven't been in school for years, but it's really convenient to many of the colleges in Worcester. The ages of the residents vary, but It helps give a nice young vibe to the area.

Negative experience: So I moved here as a travel nurse and was expecting much worse being in the middle of downtown Worcester. The room was quiet, and clean. No a/c and the heat/electric was outrageous for such a small apt. I give a 1 star because they did not return my security deposit until 3 months later and a letter I sent stating I would take them to court. Suddenly I got my deposit back. It was so bad that when I called to ask once again about my deposit return I would just get sent to some random voice mail. The manager and staff were all very nice but I feel like they have shady business practices. So keep your paperwork, know the law, and dont let them take advantage of you!!

Matt Clarke Published on Google 7 years ago

Negative experience: If there was a way to leave 0 stars I would. Their staff is the most unprofessional band of folks I’ve ever dealt with. No communication, poorly managed properties. DONT LIVE HERE

Positive experience: Pros and cons are inherent with many apartment complexes. The Grid District is no different; however, Scott Johnson, the director of property management has been professional, responsive, and accommodating to our recent concerns. We are very satisfied with the level of service has provided us. Additionally, the leasing agent, Scarlette, was also helpful in showing us different apartmenrs based on our criteria.

Positive experience: I like to say the grid District has it's up and down like any other place but the one thing that is great here is the property manager Scott he's very professional and understanding and helping.im hoping the ownership group realize he's the glue keeping this place together

Fantastic experience: I've lived here since February (7 months) and really the only issue I've had is parking over the winter, which is just Worcester and could be avoided by getting a parking spot. I moved here because I had no time to find a place and they had apartments available immediately. At first I thought it was a mistake due to the reviews here, but I like my apartment! Having the gym and laundry right down stairs is great. The people at the front desk are always really nice, even to my grumpy over-tired self. I've never had an issue that maintenance didn't come fix the same day, and even that was just my hot water not being hot enough. Any other complaints I might think of are general ones that I would have in any downtown apartment building! :)

Negative experience: Worst apartment! Every thing is low quality. Even receptionist shows attitude in front of you if you have any complains regarding apartment. Answer to every problem is ‘we are not responsible for it’ . Staying in these apartments is the worst experience i ever had.

Fantastic experience: I really do not understand the mediocre and bad reviews. I moved from Seattle to MA and lived at the Bancroft Building for three months until I purchased a home. All the personnel were friendly and helpful. The residents are nice and considerate. The Grid hosts many fun events for its residents and has good amenities. The price for a furnished month-to-month rental is the best I found in the area for a suitable living accommodation. The personnel and residents make up a diverse group of ages, ethnic backgrounds and nationalities. This is the environment I want to live in I'm a city girl and love diversity. I highly recommend the Grid.

Positive experience: I guess the people who have problems go out of there way to review here. Everyone who [lives] here at the grid, have always seemed as if they are fine. Occasion they say hi, mind their own business, and / or get along. I only stayed here for a short time, but my short stay has no complaints. Gym(excellent), laundry (some dryers you need to use twice to get it dry), lobby(clean, nice), high rise(Good experience if you never have), price fair; little on the higher side.

Positive experience: Changing my 2 Star review to a 4 Star. I recently had problems with my heat and hot water, which was due to an electrical problem within my apartment. They were very accommodating and sincerely apologetic. One of the maintenance guys kept checking in on me to make sure I was comfortable and even gave me a chair to sit on since I don’t have much furniture (just moved in.) My impression was very upset because of all the reviews and I felt as if I made a mistake moving here, but after everything was fixed and because everyone was so nice to me, I feel much happier moving here now. I read a lot of the reviews and some people had similar issues, but if you address what you need to be fixed then I’m sure they’ll do it in a timely manner.

Harry Daniells Published on Google 8 years ago

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars, I would. It would seem appropriate because it’s almost like no one works there. their office hours clearly state that Monday-Wednesday they are open 9-6. I get there at 5:40 and there is nobody in the leasing office and nobody at the front desk. When the person running the front desk gets back, he has the nerve to be rude to me and everyone else waiting in line. Like, why would we be expecting someone to be working when it says they will be? Not to mention the concierge desk is “24/7”. Their prices are outrageous and their staff is rude and completely incompetent. I’m lucky to only rent a parking space with these people. Oh and I forgot to mention that they made a change to their parking policy and decided that everyone renting a space didn’t need to know. Not like it matters because people park in my spot constantly. If you could live literally anywhere else, I would recommend that you do. As would everyone else who left the one star reviews that are just piling up.

Negative experience: DO NOT MOVE HERE! The people from the leasing office are extremely unprofessional. They have no type of workflow, or customer service. They do not keep their word. We have not had A/C for a 1.5 months already, and all they keep saying is "I'm sorry, there is nothing I can do." We are actively looking for a new place because of their staff, which is unfortunate since we love the location. You do not want to deal with them.

Fantastic experience: Here is what most people do not understand about: "The Grid District;" The Grid is separated into a few different buildings. One of them is Portland on the Grid, and the other is Bancroft on the Grid. Through my time living on the grid, maintenance has been reliable, electric is cheaper than previous town house living, and laundry is convenient. The prices are high, yes, but they also offer different events for the residents and the location is a short 8 minute walk from Union Station for public transportation.
