Fantastic experience: We had the privilege of working with Monica TWICE. When we moved to IL in 2022 she was our realtor. She was so patient showing us many homes that fit our criteria until we narrowed down our choices to a few. Although we had purchased homes in the past, the IL process was different. She made it seamless keeping us updated at each step. It was a no brainer to call her when we wanted to sell the home three years later to move to our forever home in NC. This process was more detailed and complex. She walked through EVERY step, doing “walkthroughs” via FaceTime and in person, making suggestions, coming back to peel me off the ceiling when things got stressful, and I was ready to pull my hair out. The house sold in less time than we expected and at an amount we appreciated. She validated numbers over and over to make sure there were no errors and to make sure we were comfortable. Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a realtor in the Bloomington Normal area, Dan Weber is your man! I started my house selling journey, thinking I could sell it myself. I quickly realized it is a stressful endeavor. When Dan took over, his guidance, reassurance, and handling of the details was a HUGE relief. While on top of everything, Dan had an easy going, comfortable way about him. It felt like I was talking with a friend and he had my best interests in mind. Dan educated me on the whole selling process, and what was happening in the local market. Right away I felt like he knew his stuff and I could trust him. The market had slowed when I listed my house, so it took a little longer than expected to sell. Dan was good at suggesting and helping me think through strategies, options, and possibilities. He held an open house almost every weekend and afterwards called right away to provide feedback on how it went. Then he followed up with potential buyers during the week. He was persistent and kept me informed every step of the way. Once my house was under contract and cleared out, I moved out of state. Dan was still there, checking on the house and making sure it was ready for inspections, walkthroughs and anything I still needed done. Negative experience: I recently moved to Bloomington from San Diego to help care for my elderly Father. Over the Labor Day weekend I saw a 'for sale' sign in the yard of one of his neighbors' homes. I immediately contacted the realty company requesting to see the house. Their agent emailed me saying she had company and could not call me. I had originally informed her that I could see the house on any day, at any time. I made it as convenient for her as possible. Evidently my efforts were in vain. It was too much for her to deal with a person interested in a sub-prime mortgage. I discovered today that the house is now under contract. Imagine if the realtor, Sandy Schroeder, had done her job and contacted me as is her job? Perhaps I would have had a chance to buy the house, making caring for my Father much more convenient for both of us. I'm reasonably sure that if I had requested to see a house in one of the pricier neighborhoods of Bloomington I would have received a call from the realtor post haste. Unfortunately, the home I wanted was in a very modest subdivision on the East side of town. Do yourself a favor and find a realty company with employees who have a more well-developed work ethic than is evident at Coldwell Banker. I was treated very rudely and utterly ignored. Heck, I wasn't treated at all. I was summarily ignored and pushed aside. I'm pretty sure the lower price of the home was the cause behind it. Take your money elsewhere. Take your business to people who treat others with more equity than was shown me.

Negative experience: Go with someone else! Disrespectful and unprofessional! I was referred to Anne Bliss by my military institution. Upon meeting with Ms. Bliss on 6/20/2019, she immediately began interrogating why I am currently not working. When I explained that I am a disabled veteran, her response was, "You don't LOOK disabled!" She then proceeded to ask about my mother, the whereabouts of my father, asking if I had any brothers, even going so far as to asking the names of my pets. When I asked the reason behind asking so MANY personal questions that were unrelated to real estate, taxes, and home ownership, Ms. Bliss claimed (with a fake smile) that she wants to be friends with her customers and that she asks questions to "get to know" the clients. Affirming that I didn't have to work with her, I grabbed my stuff and walked out. Additionally, I telephoned my military institution to report the negative experience I had with Ms. Bliss and her nosy questions about my medical history and my relationship with relatives. Such questions are reserved for medical personnel / clinical psychologists / social workers / nurses to ask, not a real estate agent meeting a customer for the first time.
