Experiencia fantástica: I used to think that all real estate agents were interchangeable until I met Andrew Ulmer from The Gunderman Group. After getting Andrew's information at an open house, we had a zoom call to get to know each other better where he learned a bit about where I am in life and what I was looking for in the housing market and I got to learn more about him and the way he worked. At the end of the call, he told me there was no pressure to work with him and even recommended I meet with other agents to ensure I found the right fit for me. From that moment on, making sure we found the right fit for my family became the overarching theme of our working relationship. During our first tour of a prospective home together, Andrew didn't say much and just wanted to follow us around and hear what we were thinking and how we processed the home. Early in his representation, he met us at various open houses, walking behind us, asking to hear our stream of consciousness and back and forth banter, as he took copious notes. With that in mind, each subsequent house visit, resulted in a more focused approach where Andrew could call out what the property offered vis a vis what he had learned about us. We were able to purchase the home of our choice with very few barriers. Graeme and the Gunderman Group work very closely with Chicago Title who also were assets in the process-especially Teresa. We began renovating our 100 yr old home and can't believe how lucky we are. But we still had to sell the loft in Oakland which was much more difficult than the purchase in Alameda. Graeme and Gunderman Group repaired, staged, and marketed the property meticulously. It was not an easy task due to the holidays and the condo market in Oakland. I am happy to report that the property sold and we were able to avoid multiple relocations and other uncomfortable scenarios. We moved one time from the loft to the new home and Graeme took care of the rest. Buying prior to selling may not be the ideal scenario for many but it worked out for us due to the professionals we have in place. We preserved a short commute-didn't have to compromise on weather-and remained close to our family. We have dealt with very few individuals or companies as skilled. These are life changing and scary decisions but we feel we had the right people in place to accomplish the desired outcome. We wouldn't think about using an individual other than Graeme Parinello for all things real estate related. While we were under rather extreme time pressure to find a place and close within a month, Graeme’s steady, seasoned approach encouraged us to slow down, become familiar with the neighborhoods, and make a more informed decision about where we wanted to land. Once we found the desired property, Graeme helped us seal the deal with his deep understanding of the market and excellent negotiating skills. Out of 19 offers, ours was accepted. Graeme had our best interests in mind and even raised concerns regarding inspections and impending construction that I (a lawyer) had not flagged. You could tell they were really looking out for your best interests in trying to get you the best deal that would make you happy and keep you sane. Experiencia fantástica: Bottom line, I'm recommending Hans and Kristin to anyone I know that wants to buy in the East Bay.  Hans and Kristin were absolutely phenomenal to work with during our search.  As first time home buyers entering into a frenzied market, the prospect of buying a house when so many variables were moving regularly was incredibly daunting.  However, Hans and Kristin were there the entire way to provide us with the knowledge and confidence we needed to make the right decision on a property for us, and on our own timeline. Throughout our search we asked a ton of questions and they took them all in stride, answering quickly and displaying deep knowledge of both the real estate industry and local trends.  Whether we asked about broad market trends or nuanced questions about a particular property, they were quick to provide a substantive, clear, and honest answer.  Contrast that to the brief experience we had with a broker we found through an popular online realty service, where we were effectively told to either do our own research or go back to the site because it had a "lot of great data on real estate trends."  The value proposition of having a competent, highly knowledgeable realtor was immediately apparent, and in comparing experiences with our friends and family members, it was evident that we got two of the best. At no point did we ever feel pressured to buy a house - we were provided with objective information and enabled to make the decisions that were right for us.  We were, however, advised when there were strong reasons *not* to buy a particular property, which was incredibly helpful.  Both Hans and Kristin were able to point to hidden costs, things that were done improperly and weren't fixable, areas where we might not recoup investments in improvements, and market trends that might depress future appreciation in a property.  Additionally, where we had further questions, we were put in contact with reliable contractors (which Hans and Kristin themselves used) to discuss additional costs of improvements or repairs so that we could have as clear a picture of the total costs in a house as possible. When it finally came to purchasing, Hans and Kristin were engaged throughout the entire process, with constant contact and to-the-minute updates as needed.  We ended up with a house that we love, at a price point we were incredibly satisfied with, and far quicker than we imagined.  End to end, our search was around three weeks, where we were expecting six months or more. Overall, I couldn't have imagined a more informed, supportive experience.  Hans and Kristin aren't pushers that are going to tell you that everything is fine and just try to get you into whatever house you're looking at - they're going to educate you so that you can make that decision for yourself and feel confident in doing so.  Easy five stars - we'll be using them for any real estate needs we have in the future, and will be recommending them to any friends and family that need a realtor in the East Bay.

Struggling to relocate to CA and looking for a home remotely, we were pretty discouraged with the process, losing bids after bids. What became quickly clear to us was Eric was not simply looking to close a deal and move on but rather emphasized the importance of walking us through the process, initially in an exploratory mode - helping us think about what were "must have's" and what may be "nice to haves" as we were looking at places, and then in offer submission mode, acknowledging some of the peculiarities and competitiveness of the Bay Area and East bay market.
