Experiencia fantástica: A friend referred us to Deb and Jon Meek as we were initiating our search for our new home in Maine. We have been renting in the area for close to 8 months and decided it was time to buy as the market is getting more and more competitive. Deb was extremely friendly and welcoming, as well as forthcoming with all required information. Whenever we saw a house that piqued our interest, we would email or text and Deb would immediately respond. When touring houses, Deb was excellent at pointing out negatives and positives on properties. It was clear to us that she was not just in this for her commission but was genuinely invested in finding us the appropriate home based on what we had told her we were looking for. Once we did find our dream home, she was quick to initiate the offer and to work with the Realtor representing the sellers. It was clear to us that, after 17 years in the business in the Portland area, Deb knew all of the players. With her recommendations, we made an offer on the home which ended up NOT being the highest bid but was accepted by the sellers nonetheless. We came to find out that there was another offer for significantly more but the sellers accepted our offer and actually accepted our offer at a lower price than we had offered. With an escalation clause in place, they easily could have bumped our offer much higher. I can't help but think this accommodation was made based on some of the tips and tricks that Deb suggested. We just closed this past Friday and are elated. During this whole process, Jon was in constant contact and acted as a liaison between us and Deb - guiding us through multiple steps in the process. Our home purchase proved to be quite complicated with challenge after challenge right down to the wire (title issues, septic issues, heating issues, etc. ) and the only thing that kept us sane was knowing they were right there in it with us. Deb and her team are incredibly knowledgeable and made countless trips to the town on our behalf (and frankly on the sellers' behalf) to research and resolve issues that kept arising; without those efforts, I suspect the sale would never have gone through.
