Experiencia negativa: I toured a unit at Longview Apartments a few days ago. The unit itself was decent overall and seemed perfectly livable. Unfortunately, the experience with the broker, Jason, was very unprofessional. When we arrived for our scheduled showing, he told us he had forgotten the key and needed to drive 20 minutes back home to get it. I understood that mistakes happen and wasn’t irritated about it, so we waited patiently for him to return. However, it still wasn’t a great start to the appointment. During the tour, he wasn’t very communicative or informative. I had to lead the entire conversation and ask most of the questions myself rather than him explaining details about the unit. Before the showing, I had messaged him multiple times. The first couple of times, I introduced myself and clearly mentioned that I have a housing voucher and asked to see the unit, and I received no response. When I later sent a message without mentioning the voucher, he responded right away and scheduled a tour for the next day. That felt concerning. During the tour, when he asked about income and I reminded him that we use a voucher (which I had already shared in our previous messages), his demeanor noticeably changed and he seemed annoyed. The interaction felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. There was also an issue with the application refund being a few dollars short. It wasn’t a large amount, but it added to the overall lack of professionalism and attention to detail. Overall, the unit itself was fine, but the experience felt dismissive and potentially discriminatory toward voucher holders. I hope management improves communication and professionalism, because everyone deserves to be treated respectfully regardless of how they pay their rent.

Experiencia fantástica: We had gone through 3 different property management in the past. They were either not responsive enough, would have a high turnover of people in charge (so you would know know who to communicate with), never followed with the list of preventative maintenance requests, would do nothing on optimizing rental income, or would be way too expensive (sometimes, all of the above). Hiring Longview Properties lowered by stress, and increased my confidence in being a landlord. They own their own properties, so they understand what's important to both, the landlord, as well as a tenants. They are easy to communicate with, and they know the tenants by name (they are not just another unit number). Most impressive though is that they put themselves in your shoes, and do what you would want to have done - one example, when driving by the property on a weekend, of a fall afternoon, I saw Mike (the owner of Longview Properties) blowing leaves - when I asked him what he was doing, his response was that he would not spend $600 for 30 minutes of landscaping work, regardless of it was his property on mine. It's that level of customer service that it's extremely rare to find anywhere else.

Mike is a great landlord very helpful, takes care of everyone’s concerns, he is very knowledgeable and experienced with section 8 vouchers. If I can give advice to anyone it to not rent from anyone who doesn’t have knowledge or experience with section 8 vouchers it will be an huge headache. The staff are very nice as well. I highly recommend for renting I give the company 10 Stars….
