Homes that were readily available We're flying off the map. Amy Hustled every single day to quickly find us a living situation .(We were basically homeless)...we agreed on a new build that would be finished in six months. If that wasn't enough ...she secured us the most beautiful rental home with the nicest landlord ever. After all the chaos...we could unwind and get our thoughts together for that six months. Both were exceptional at communication and genuinely cared about keeping me a happy tenant. In the situation that my homeowner was returning and I was asked to vacate the property, both ladies stayed in touch with me about new properties that were about to hit the market so that I had first dibs. Their maintenance staff was very responsive and handled all issues accordingly. I would definitely use MCL again in the future and recommend them to any owners who are seeking to use a property management company in the area as they truly took great care of this property for the homeowner.

Jaime is amazing... always available... knows what's going on, when it's going on and how it's going on... who you are and the property you're in along with the ins and outs. Wayne is also incredible. Any maintenance issues we had were always taken care of right away. Wayne always went out of his way to help us with any questions or concerns. They explained everything in depth and always managed our expectations... from us moving in to us moving out. I highly recommend them to any renter.

Experiencia negativa: MCL allowed the owner of the house I rented give half of my security deposit to a neighbor who unknowingly to me had come over to cut the grass bc he wasn’t happy with the frequency with which I cut it. I was never reached out to by MCL, the owner, or the neighbor regarding the yard. It wasn’t until I moved out and collected what was left of my deposit that I was informed that anyone had been unhappy with how often I cut the grass. Not to mention the period in which this apparently occurred was during a month in which my roommate and I were sent to Europe for a month by the Army.

Not only did Amy and her staff help me, but they were compassionate about my situation. Amy, Jaime, Wayne, everyone that I had contact with at MCL, was always so helpful and quick in responding to my questions and concerns (the AC needed repair) during my 1 year of renting. They were so nice and kind in fact, I decided to stay another year until I found a home to purchase. During my second year, I was traveling constantly with work. I recall Jaime offering to have someone from MCL check on the property while I was deployed to ensure it’s safe keeping. My moveout inspection was seamless and the entire security deposit was returned. I would highly recommend MCL to anyone and if I should ever need a rental again, I will always come back to MCL! Experiencia fantástica: We purchased a home using Amy as our realtor. We were living overseas and were extremely pleased with the response time and communication Amy provided from the initial inquiry to the closing. Fast forward 3 years. After being unsuccessful at renting our home ourselves, we hired Amy and MCL as our property managers. They had a tenant placed within weeks. We received calls personally from Amy with the potential tenants requests prior to move-in. We have referred several friends to Amy for home buying and property management needs.

The staff has made all the difference and we couldn’t have done it without them. Super accommodating, professional, and easy to work with.

From the time I inquired about the property with the agent to the very last correspondence we had with maintenance has been nothing but exceptional. She helped us find a place that is managed by Moore County Living. Our experience with them has been nothing short of wonderful. I transitioned one of my homes to a rental property that Amy's company manages and the property management side of her company is just as great as the real estate side. We also briefly rented a place within Aberdeen from MCL and the experience as a tenant was just as good as the experience as a landlord. All the people at MCL are fair and honest people and will always be on the ethical side of any issues that arise between tenants/landlord. If you're looking to purchase/rent a home, or looking for a company to manage your property, you won't find a better person within the Moore county area than Amy and her team.

Experiencia negativa: I would like to start off with that I have never had a bad enough experience with anyone to write a review about them on google. Ever. Not until MCL. We rented through Moore County Living and had a TERRIBLE experience. First there was Bridget who always seemed to have an attitude anytime I contacted her. One time I brought my rent payment in cash and she SIGHED and got short with me because she was having to count money. I made it a point to pay in smaller bills after that just because of her stunt. We were late a few times but never overlapped with payments. We always paid the extra fee. Any time we needed something with maintenance done, it took FOREVER to get someone out there. No matter what it was, we would have to call multiple times before getting a response. Waiting weeks for it to be fixed. (But you better believe if we were a couple days late on a payment or our grass was too high, we heard about it from Amy or someone else within days. Another reason why they were paid in small bills.) We can skip ahead to where they give us 2 months notice that the owners of the home don’t want to renew our contract and had “decided to put the house on the market” and offered us the house. We of course said no because of events. The weekend we are to be moving out of the house, HURRICANE MATTHEW HIT. We lived in Lobelia off of 690. It flooded. The woodlake dam broke. The road collapsed. The back roads were flooded. We couldn’t get out to the house and had to stay in West End. They called us every day asking us why we weren’t moved out yet. I told them we couldn’t get out to the house due to the roads being blocked, damaged, or flooded. This woman’s response was “well how is it that our maintenance man made it out there (day before Matthew hit) and you can’t?” I said “because Matthew didn’t come through until the next day and we planned to move everything that weekend.” (When the contract was due) And she got an attitude with me and told me to call the guy who would inspect and talk to him. So I call him. And he says “we need you to get your stuff because new renters are moving in.” Excuse me, what? “I thought the owners of the home were selling the house and that’s why they didn’t want to renew our contract.” He says, “uh. What does it matter? You need to move out. Your contract is up.” Fine. Let me take a boat out there. So we take my husbands truck and drive through the flooded back roads to get to the house and load up as much as we can. Come to find some things in the garage are ruined from the water. We got as much as we could in the pod. We left some things out by the garbage that we couldn’t take or were damaged. Swept and mopped the house. Cleaned inside every cabinet and on top of every counter. Wiped down the walls and window sills. Cleaned the bathrooms. Vacuumed the carpets. Cleaned the fridge and freezer. Then we left. They kept our $900 deposit and gave me only $700 in receipts. Two of which were a carpet cleaner and a “professional cleaning service” that they hired. Among other things like replacing a few blinds I think. Because that adds up to $700? By that time I had enough. They lied. They screwed us over. They took my money. I was done and ready to not be dealing with them anymore. They then contacted me and told me to pay my last water bill because they couldn’t switch it over until I did. I refused. Use $50 of that $200 you pocketed to pay for it. I will NEVER go through them again. I won’t even look at houses with their name on it. If anyone asks about them, I tell them my story. If anyone asks for a realty company, I tell them to NOT go to Moore County Living. I am a young mother married to a police officer from a good local family. They took complete advantage of us and have done so with other people. Please do not go to this business for anything. You will end up stressed and cheated.

It is so nice to have them local to our home, I know if there are any problems the team will be right there to take care of it. The staff is always friendly when we speak to them and communication has been great. Highly recommend Moore County Living if you are looking to list your home or if you are looking to rent a home in Moore County.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience. Will never rent from them again. Let's see how I can sum this up after 2 years of issues. I NEVER post about places, but for this I just had to. First off, I'm sure Amy is a great Real Estate agent, but she is THE WORST property manager. Why? Because she was in charge of our rental, and I could literally never get ahold of her. Which, there was only a few occasions I needed her, and she would not call me back. One Issue: First, at my year check in (which my place looked the same as when we moved in..) she insisted that we use her new app and have something repaired. There was a small leak under the sink, so I said why not? Told her if she needed anything from me to let me know. Went to work, only to return home to my door open, with no one there. She didn't even have the time to make sure the plumber locked up!! Are you kidding? I have a spare.. I could have worked with her. When I called upset, she didn't answer or call back. Had someone else call me, which honestly pissed me off... maybe act like a human and own up to it. Accidents happen, but in this case, she made the issue. Side note, that month, my neighbors got broken into, along with a slew of other houses around me, and my husband was away on work...and she wouldn't call me back. GREAT! Another issue: move out was terrible. I sent in maintenance requests to get a few things fixed. Nothing major, just some time ups before we moved. Took a while for them to send someone over, so we went to them. During this visit we asked about what we needed to move out successfully, and they all shrugged and said they didn't know. Amy was unreachable, per usual. So maintenance guy Fianlly shows and does small fixes, so we ask him, what should we do for move out? He pointed to some spots I could touch up with paint, and that's it... two days before move out, we get a call from the maintenance guy, who was apparently now our property manager? Asking if we wanted the move out checklist. TWO DAYS BEFORE MOVE OUT?! I'd been hounding them for a month and they had nothing for me... not when we are shoulder deep in boxes, they give us a list? Also, we shut the power off, like it said to on the lease, and got scolded for that!!! They asked why we didn't transfer it to the owners name, whose full name I don't know( and will the power company even let me do that)?!! You gotta be joking.. the last week of move out was hell. I was pregnant, and they had nothing but issues for us. Also, thanks for letting me know the maintenance man is now our pfolio manager... it would have been nice if someone told us!! This is just a few situations that made us feel like we we weren't at home. It's crazy because we were good, quiet tenants, that always paid. I know at least three other couples that have had similar experiences with them... just ridiculous. So if you like issues, go with MCL lol!

Experiencia negativa: I used Amy and her company to manage my rental, and she does not know what she is doing. When I brought things to her attention that the renters was doing or the lack of doing, she would ignore my request. When the renters finally moved out, they, the renter, destroyed my house. When I asked for the payment of repairs, she didn't even advise or even did it herself the letter why the security deposit will not be returned. She has changed her company names so many times... Buyer beware when you are using Amy. I have more information if you are interested. I have documented & recorded everything.
