Experiencia fantástica: They are the opposite of slumlords. They are totally fair. If something breaks, they fix it immediately. I am so grateful for renting one of their homes for 5 years
Experiencia negativa: Avoid a this real state agency at all costs, they won’t honor the contract or use loopholes to charge you whatever they want. (Update) the contract itself stipulates ways to end your lease earlier, and yet you refuse to agree to it. By telling the owner not to honor the verbal agreement and by adding terms that weren’t in the contract, such as charging 2 month rent worth penalty, explain it to me, where in the contract is that?? I expect an answer other than your sour early response.
Experiencia fantástica: I rented a 1 bedroom duplex in Archdale from Fowler and Fowler for about 4 years after they purchased the building from the previous owner. They were VERY attentive in fixing things such as the toilet a few times, the rent was reasonably priced for what i needed. The building itself was clean with ample parking, i had NO issues with them during the time i was there, i just ended up moving out of State. I would consider myself a good and responsible tenant as my rent was always paid and i caused NO damage there, again my experience with them is 100% positive.

Experiencia negativa: Awful communication, actually they have ZERO communication. Don’t pay an application fee because you’ll never know if they even ran the application. Scammy. Since your team finally replied on google. I called your office multiple times without a response. The automated email could not answer my question as there was an issue with YOUR website. Seeing your rating I’m glad I’ve gone with a well rated rental agency.
Experiencia negativa: I been live in cloverdale drive archdale after 2 years suddenly they send the notice for move cause in the apartment building some old lady live and she told the realtor that we put furniture stuff out on road by mail box but we not it's just somebody else put it who already moving....... but they thought it's as for sure... don't be renter from this realty, benjamin james realty best ever!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: Ive been renting from fowler & fowler for almost 4 years. In the first year, the roof needed to be replaced. Instead of hiring real roofers to have it replaced, they had un-insured landscapers do the job instead. The people who did the work damaged my car by throwing shingles and nails at it, also one of the employees half fell through the ceiling in my closet and damaged more items (which I didn't even bring up to fowler and fowler). I told Fowler and Fowler my car had been damaged, and they did eveything in their power to deny all accusations and ignored my insurance company for months when they tried to make them make it right. Fast foward to end of 2023, my ceiling started leaking again, water ruined ceiling tiles in the living room and soaked my $600 TV. My TV now has lines going through it from the water, they didn't try to do anything to make that up to me.. They brought the same uninsured landscapers back to fix it in january 2024, and how? They put a tarp on the roof and over the chimney!! Which have now been there for over EIGHT MONTHS!!! FROM JANUARY TO AUGUST. BY THE WAY WHEN ARE YOU GUYS COMING TO CHECK FOR MOLD? I have called numerous times and put in numerous work orders and I keep getting ignored by this company and their unexperienced maintenence workers. If you want to live in a nightmare, you came to the right renters.
Experiencia negativa: Moved into one of their properties where the shelves in the refrigerator were being held together by duct tape. We asked them to either find new shelves or replace the fridge and was told that the shelves being broken were not deemed a livability issue. But then when we moved out, they charged us for a whole new fridge and then won’t return our phone calls to rectify the issue. Do not recommend.

You’ll have to pay to have it removed. They denied every request from tree services. They will make you vacate with NO reason given. You’ve been warned.

I've NEVER heard of a company doing this!! Why would I submit an application for a property I've NEVER seen??? Doesn't make any sense at all!! Smh, sounds scammy to me!!

Experiencia negativa: Response to my wife's post. I had an 11 a:m appointment with Melissa. Melissa who? No last name. Very unprofessional. Melissa spoke with my wife and I on 8 21 2020. We didn't exchange money orders, bank account information anything. We scheduled another appointment on 8 25 2020. Today. We was told to come up with a certain amount. Did that. I asked questions about things, Melissa kept putting me on hold to find an answer. Unprofessional. I asked if I could purchase my own screen door. Out of pocket. And even said if we decide to vacate, next person can have that. Melissa asked me why do I want the screen doors. My reasons , we're bugs.she puts me in hold again. Now she wants me to pay September full rent. 695. I just left her place of business With 1173.00 Dollars. Now you saying an additional 695. THAT'S 1868.00. Before we even have the keys, utitilitues. And if I was so beligerent. Why did you guys took my money OREDRS, I do have them back. But if I'm coming to your door beligerent. Shouldn't you have called the law? Instead. Short lady with glasses questions me about do I have the money orders. I sat in my car across the street. Called Melissa. Unprofessional. I wasn't beligerent. Was I beligerent the first time you met me Melissa? My wife and I?
Experiencia negativa: I'm not going to even give it one star. Me and my Husband was approved for an apartment. It was stated that the only thing we needed to move in was the rest of August rent which didn't seem fair because August is almost over even though it was prorated. But we were still willing to pay it. Why not just let us pay deposit which was 895 and then move in September 1. These are hard times we are living in and they were not understanding at all. BEWARE
Experiencia negativa: Applied via online application for a rental property. Filled out all of the information. I then got several emails stating to send in additional information. I did as requested. The last information was sent in on 5-27-20. I waited a week never heard anything. So I called they stated my application was still being processed and they would call if they needed anything. Never heard anything else. Today on 6-8-20 I called to check the status since I hadn't heard anything. Rental applications usually only take a few days. The rep states "I haven't got anywhere with your application" and that she couldn't reach any of my previous rental properties. Its been almost 2 weeks and I had to call them yet again to get an update. They never reached out to me to try and get help with reaching out to previous renters. I wonder If l didn't call how long I would have been waiting. Glad things happened this way so I can see upfront what I would be dealing with!
Experiencia negativa: Awful. They treat their tenants poorly and unfairly. They DO NOT properly maintain their properties. In fact, my neighbor next door leases their house from Fowler and Fowler. The pictures I am posting speak for themselves. These are photos are the windows in their children's room. Not only do they not open properly in the case of an emergency, but the jagged glass and deteriorated wood could easily hurt them. Tell me, just how are they to keep warm in the winter and keep the cool in during the summer?

Experiencia negativa: Was not treated with respect when applying. Was told they will except multiple applications, nonrefundable, and they will not reach out to you unless your the person who was approved. After not being notified of the status of my application, I called a little frustrated. Was told my application did not get processed by the first woman I spoke with, after getting more upset due to the lack of professionalism, I was then transfered to an even more disrespectful woman who was quickly able to tell me all of the negatives against my application but I was told it was not processed. The home I applied for had been rented days prior to this but they still charged me for my application. Bad business. They make money off of the poor souls hoping to rent a home by allowing as many applications as they can get against a property dont call to tell you then when they notice they have done wrong, quickly deny your application. Go to CJP. They have ethics and morals. This company does not. And have been approved with every rental company except Fowler and Fowler. Only because I called them on their BS!!!!

I will not recommend them, they are very nasty on the phone, i was looking at a property, but not there the way you talk to people you won’t get my money at all. Leave your personal business at home. Fowler and Fowler need to go to a professional class and customer service class they need it.
Experiencia negativa: I was 30 minutes late for my appointment to sign my lease. I called them to let them know I could be there in an hour and they said they cancelled my application. No warning. I wasn’t informed that if I was late my application would be cancelled and all they had to say was it wasn’t their problem. Do not waste your time with these people. They are hateful. I dont have anywhere else to go and all they could say was it wasn’t their problem. Thanks Fowler and Fowler.

Experiencia negativa: Only giving two stars because the place I viewed was very nice.. went to see a property and asked specifically what I needed to do after viewing it if I was approved. They raised the security deposit by 200$!!!! And told me no matter when I move in I’m still going to pay from the time they approved my application? What type of foolery is that? Told me I had to pay 1,190$ within 3 days JUST TO EVEN GET THE KEY& then still have to pay the regular rent on the 1st...or they’d have to go to the next applicant!? I asked if I could sign the lease atleast a day that I’m off so I wouldn’t have to miss work and the lady even said no to that!! Waste of time. Inconsiderate people.. really wish I would’ve rented with these guys / just money hungry people.
Experiencia negativa: I lived in this building for almost 2 years and never had one single issue. I sign a lease with new owners Fowler and attempt to pay my rent and they called saying they refused to accept it. I asked why and she said because we have already filed court papers and I explained once again that I told them when signing the lease 2 weeks prior the reason when I was paying. She said if I did not pay court cost and late fees and rent we had to go to court. Basically they just wanted to kick me and 2 children out to get 200 more a month for a coat of paint. Nasty people. Low low low. Also never considered I had to mail the rent verses walk it over which would add another day or 2. Just VERY unprofessional as most of the reviews say. Fox8 will be covering this story!!!

Experiencia negativa: We are property owners and have a local free and clear rental home. We contacted them to handle the management of this home. WOW, let me tell you these folks are a total disaster. Steer clear of Amy at Fowler & Fowler for property management. Our experience: At first they were polite. It was Wednesday before Thanksgiving and she said we may not be out until Friday to see it and get things going. I said no problem. She didn't return my call that Friday nor email nor do so over the weekend. Then no courtesy return email or call Monday. Tuesday I followed up and again no email...so I called and spoke to her and she said I have just been busy....NO RESPECT FOR PROPERTY OWNERS TIME, NO PROFESSIONAL COURTESY AT ALL. We obviously did not contact anyone else because we exercised professional courtesy and thus she wasted a week of our time.

Experiencia negativa: Recently just placed an application for a home with my mom. Right now we are in desperate need to find a new home as her landlord now is stealing from her. Long story short this company cares little for clients and their situations. I have 5 younger siblings who i want to help my mom with this year because she cant do it alone right now. Especially After learning her "slumlord" has been taking advantage of her.my mom is from Haiti and her english isn't the strongest and people try to take advantage of that. Fowler and Fowler really didn't do anything to help us or recommend any of their other homes. Its sad companies like this exist when they care so little for actually finding homes for families.

Experiencia negativa: Do not use this company to rent your home. I rented a furnished home with Fowler and Fowler and they put the first heathens they could find in my home. The tenanants stopped paying rent, destroyed the furniture and the inside of my home. Fowler and Fowler took zero liability for any of the actions and was zero help to me through the process. Very unprofessional, poorly run operation. Do not use.

Experiencia negativa: The way they talk to customers is unprofessional, any small task requested seems like a chore to these people, they have some GREAT listings for houses but keep in mind you have to deal with this agency everytime you have a home related request or problem. One star is too generous of a rating.
Experiencia negativa: Dishonest and Greedy. We lived in a property for four years, they never had any problems or complaints from us. In December 2016, they say they are putting the house on the market and demanded a lot of extras from us; we decided it was time to look for a more peaceful place. It was a serious invasion of privacy. Lisa Duke broke the lease on many occasions by not giving us 24 hours notice to show the house; and it was all terribly inconvenient as my husband and both work long hours. We are finally moved and she says we won't get our deposit back because we did not notify her 30 days before moving. Thankfully, the landlord is a kind man, I notified him of the problem and I hope he defends us. I also plan to contact Legal Aid and Realtor associations to see if she has broken any rules. We paid $19,600 to live there and left it in good shape, we don't deserve the hateful treatment bestowed upon us. UPDATE:. I left this same review on their Facebook page, Amy Hedgecock said she looked forward to hearing an equitable solution. I left messages, she did not call back.7.21.2017.
Experiencia negativa: This company was pretty bad when it was ran by Bob Fowler, and it is probably even worse now, that it is being run by Amy Hedgecock. As others mentioned they are rude (for lack of better words), and most unprofessional. It is also true, that once they get your money, you only hear from them when it is time to collect more. Other than that, their assistance is literally non existent. Too busy running their Facebook page, I guess.... Editing this review to note that Fowler and Fowler removed this same review from their Facebook page within 48 hours of posting, and within the same time period a 5 star review had appeared instead.....

Knowing that people looking for a apartment have been doing a lot of driving around. They said and I quote We don't have a public restrooms. Took my application fee and denied me. You figure it out.
