Negative experience: Incredibly hard to get a hold of. Some maintenance items they completely outright denied, Changing parking rules seems like every four or five months and when you have a question, they always conveniently have a meeting or something to get to in the next 10 minutes so they cut you off and leave you hanging. An incredibly short borderline rude to my wife every time she calls with a question.

Negative experience: When I checked out of the apartment Ironhorse charged me for items that they had not told me needed to be cleaned. This is in violation of Montana code annotated, landlord/tenant law. They charged me over $250 for these items. When I attempted to bring this to their attention, they ignored my emails. When I called them, they sent me to voicemail. I have just called back and they have now blocked my number. They have resisted every attempt of mine to get in touch with them and their blocking of my number is by far the worst event I have ever experienced from any landlord, ever.

Positive experience: Good communication, boilerplate leases at properties I have rented. Everything is online, not sure if I like the software used to perform the initial move in inspection but you only need to do it once. Sometimes a slow response on maintenance but issues have not been critical

Negative experience: Nope Nope Nope. Bozeman has its fair share of bad rental agencies, but this was my worst experience. Pretty sure the owner is trying to run this place into the ground.

Fantastic experience: Ironhorse was overall great to work with. They were responsive with requests, sure some things could have been a bit faster but everything we brought up was addressed in a reasonable amount of time. Like any contract can have, we did have some disagreements but things worked out. I’d rent from them again. I’d recommend they do add some clarity to their rental agreement in some areas. This could have been 4 stars but adjusting to 5 due to the overwhelming number of truly awful property managers out there in the world. Ironhorse is one of the good ones.

Negative experience: My fiancé and I applied and he got denied due to his credit report. There was an incorrect mark on his history so he contacted his bank and they issued a letter explaining the mark and to disregard it because it was incorrect. After sending iron horse this letter both my fiancé and I got an error message when attempting to call their office. We thought maybe there was an issue with our phones but after calling from a friends phone it was clarified that they must have blocked us. This came as a surprise to us as we were just trying to send over information to clarify the situation. This seemed very unprofessional as instead of talking to us about the situation at hand they decided to block us to resolve the problem. We were in a crunch to find a new place so stress was already very high and part of the reason for inquiring about one of their properties was due to their great reviews. I am very disappointed if they did indeed block us.

Fantastic experience: As a current tenant with IronHorse, I am so pleased to say that I have had nothing but great experiences with this company. Any time I’ve asked for assistance in maintenance or general inquiries, I have gotten fast and helpful responses from their very friendly staff. They have gone above and beyond to get me an apartment within my price range and right in the middle of town. I would absolutely recommend renting with IronHorse Management! - Edit: The checkout process with them was so fast and easy! My dryer had problems when I first moved in and they were quick to replace it with a brand new one. Any issue with closet doors etc. were also quickly resolved! Negative experience: The worst experience I have ever had with property management in my life. I am a college kid and my mom was on the phone with them during the time I was about to sign my lease and they legitimately yelled at my mother. In terms of communication I do not think I have gone through worse communication in general with any company not just a property company. To add on to that in terms of any customer service they are the worst I have every had in my life, that is not exaggeration, legitimately the worst. They are disrespectful, not just in terms of customer service but just in general they are bad people. I feel genuinely bullied whenever I talk to them. They are about as helpful with problems as sloth would be when trying to do a fast 100m dash. They're solution when you ask them to fix something is always "we can not do anything, you can leave when your lease is up." If you have options stray as far as possible from these people. Not just bad customer service but bad human beings in general.

I practice real estate and own my own brokerage here in the Bozeman area and often cringe when I have to deal with property management companies, but Ironhorse ABSOLUTELY ROCKED!! So responsive, incredibly professional, prompt and an absolute pleasure to work with!

I would rent from them and have them manage my properties, because they have fostered a culture of respect and fairness in their organization.

Ironhorse was professional, responsive, and communicated with me through the entire process. Being a first time renter and a college student, Ironhorse was an excellent company to rent from. Fantastic experience: We lived in unit for 7 years, I honestly expected to get a lot of our deposit withheld when we moved out. I did a my best at thoroughly cleaning and worked to fix things that we had broken after being there(with a baby when we moved in to a 7 year old boy when we moved out, he was not gentle on the walls etc). I appreciate them taking into account that we were there for such an extended time, and they only charged us for carpet cleaning which was part of the rental agreement anyway. Would recommend them over other rental companies in Bozeman!

Fantastic experience: Ironhorse has to be hands down the best rental company in Bozeman. For all the years I lived in Bozeman people constantly told, and still complain about, how all the rental companies in Bozeman are atrocious. Ironhorse seems to be the one exception to the rule. They are always quick to respond to maintenance requests and get the work orders done within a day or so. They work with you to get your lease signed, always explaining everything to you, and help in every way to make sure you're set when you're leaving the apartment. The rent itself is fair, if not below average for the going rate in Bozeman. I recommend them to everyone.

Negative experience: I applied for a property and shared the application with my roommate. The property was closed to additional applications before my counterpart could submit an application less than 24 hours later and despite the fact that I had already submitted my application. I called the company and asked if I could have a refund because my application wouldn't be considered because they would not accept an application from my roommate. They denied my refund although I would not be considered for the property I applied for. I feel like I threw $40 in the trash. While this isn't much money, it can certainly add up between numerous applications in a competitive housing climate. Poor business practice.

Fantastic experience: One of the property managers is mean and overly strict but everything else about this management company is fine. Everyone else that I’ve dealt with has been really nice and helpful or at least tries. Affordable rent which is hard to find in Bozeman. Work orders are usually responded too and taken care of in a timely manner but have slowed and taken much longer to get a tech out which they have mentioned is because of COVID-19. Overall would recommend and would rent again. Only management company to ever give me my whole deposit back

Fantastic experience: We have been renting from Ironhorse Management for two years now. The staff has been helpful and friendly from day one. Talking with them feels like chatting with a neighboring rather than reporting to a managing institution. The only problem that we have had with them was handled superbly. During a software transition, they missed an automatic payment the could have resulted in a fine for us; instead they took responsibility for the mistake and waved the fee. They are just honest, hard-working, approachable people who I would recommend to anyone. In fact, I already have. One of our friends moved in down the road just last month.

They are kind and understanding, quick to repair and maintenance issues (or communicate with you about it), and they are actually affordable! All interactions my husband and I have had with the office have been very courteous and professional, and I know that if we send an email or call I can trust whoever is on the other end to have our back. We had extenuating circumstances concerning the unit we were living in and they were gracious enough to let us out of our lease to seek different housing. They were so wonderful we continue to rent with them, just at a different location. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone!
