Negative experience: Where do I start! This realtor sold my previous house and helped me buy my new house! Those transactions were great and I was very happy. So when it came time to sell my present house. It was night and day in comparison. Firstly he assumed my business and came in and told me I needed to fix and paint several parts of my house. I wasn’t unhappy with his advice. Then the wheels came off. He never once walked me through the process and what would happen. I will say I’m from a different country in Europe and am not familiar with the process. This was my first solo selling in the USA. He never gave me a contract until the week before I listed. His lack of communication was so unprofessional. I had to keep asking what do I do. He then tells me it was 6% commission. 3% for him and 3% for the buyer agent. He told me it just that’s the rate, that’s the rate, which I’ve since found out that is not true! It’s negotiable! He organized an open house, and that one weekend that showed interest and I asked about follow up! He said wait! He doesn’t do that! He wanted to immediately offer floor credits of $3,000 of the price saying this is all negotiable, but I always felt he was always about giving discounts! He’s then organized a second open house some weeks later. Then forgot he had a birthday party to go to, so canceled one day! Just before the open house! I had one couple turn up on the cancelled day! Then I wanted to up date the 1960’s kitchen cabinets. He said no! Said he could give a kitchen update credit! More discounts. Anyway! I just felt the communication from him was extremely poor, his effort to discount my house I felt was not good! I will say I was moving out of state, my new realtor tried to help and support him offering any help which then I found out he wouldn’t answer his phone calls. Which is unprofessional. All in all this was a bad experience. My house was listed at $496,000 so it cost me over $45,000 in commission. He then tried to manipulate the sale price so he would get more commission. I was glad when the process was over and I didn’t have to deal with him anymore and he once told me that when I said I wanted to go with someone else! Legally I couldn’t! He didn’t even say congratulations when I sold which bugged me! I wrote this review just so people know the bad experience I had this time! I felt he was all about his commission in these hard times not helping me as a seller. Always telling me the market is bad all the time, not what we could do! Just negative all the time! If you want a realtor with a lack of communication, if you want to discount your house, with several credits for buyers! And someone who seems like he’s working for the buyer and not you the seller, this is the guy to go to!
