One of the things I appreciated the most, is that she’s not a yes man. During walk through she pointed out things that could be an issue, or would need replacing soon. And pointed out that it’s important you don’t go into home-buying with rose colored glasses, they end up with buyers remorse. She also really made sure to go over all the paperwork with us, making sure we knew what we were signing and what everything meant. Fantastic experience: Most reviews start with how great Jess is to work with for months in a crazy housing market when it’s normal to make 10-11 offers before one is actually accepted. That’s not our story. My wife and I were working with a different realtor who was not able to meet our expectations in terms of responsiveness. We knew how crazy the Ventura market was and we knew that we needed to see houses and make offers fast. Instead of waiting for our realtor to set things up, we ended up just going to open houses ourselves. It was at one of these open houses where we met Jess who was representing the seller of the home. Jess respected that we were already working with another agent, but we really enjoyed the brief interaction with her and exchanged contact information. Fast forward a couple weeks and we finally made the decision to break away from our previous realtor and try to go at it alone. We walk into another open house and immediately knew it was the perfect house for us. We didn’t know what to do next so we left the open house, drove down the street, and called Jess. She immediately answered, told us she would represent us, and walked us through all the steps needed to make an offer the next day. Fantastic experience: I found Jessica via Zillow when I was in the market for my first home and I am ever grateful I did. Jessica immediately contacted me and I described to her what I was looking for in a home. She promptly compiled a list of homes in the area matching my wishes and needs. I met with Jessica and we viewed several homes in the Ventura County area. This being my first time purchasing a home, I’m glad I had Jessica by my side. She knew all the right questions to ask sales personnel and new construction project managers. These were often questions and information that was very pertinent, but would’ve never thought to ask. Jessica showed me around the area and even took the time to show me the areas she knew I would have interests in based on what I told her about myself- hiking trails/beach spots/nightlife etc; making it feel like a very personalized experience. I did not live in the area throughout the process and Jessica did most of the leg work. Jessica provided suggestions for lenders and walked me through the preapproval process. When I decided on a home, I was often busy with work including late hours into the night. But Jessica reviewed all of my paperwork and contracts from her home and would send me keynotes and consolidated versions of the legal documents in plain English. Jessica was very involved from start to finish- answering all my questions about the escrow process and including taking time to pick up the keys when I closed on my house- even though I couldn’t be there. Jessica made sure I was getting settled in and even introduced me to her friends in the area- including a dog sitter for my puppy! Fantastic experience: We just recently bought and sold with Jessica as our agent. It was not an easy deal but any means. Adversarial divorce where one side (me) gets zero of the proceeds but is left to sell the house. Deal killing issues coming up, both emotional and house infrastructure. Each one of them became non-issues very quickly due to Jessica's acumen. Broken sewer lateral? Bang! Her plumber shows up and fixes it. Other side on the divorce is being completely unreasonable, bang! fixed. Jessica has her hand on the pulse of real estate in this area. She knows who is just looking and who is serious. She knows how to close the deal. She knows how to actually market your home. I can honestly say that her commision is the last thing on her mind. Your satisfaction with her is at her foremost. She takes one of the most stressful things most people ever do, buy a house. And makes it a lot lot better, quickly. She got us extra time to move, she made three (count em 3) transactions close at the same time. After we moved in we found there was a deal killing issue on our dream home that Jessica turned into a non-issue. It was transparent to us. The only thing negative I can say about Jessica is that after you close with her, you will realize just how bad of service you received on your last home sale.
