Negative experience: If I could give zero stars, I would. The woman up front is sweet. However, Michelle is rude. I applied and I was excited about it. I called to check on my application and she got an attitude with me and basically told me she would get to it in a week. It’s been two weeks and I’ve gotten no call back. Which is fine, I made up my mind in that moment that I did NOT want her as a landlord. I applied to a newer, nicer apartment complex and got approved and put my deposit down within one day. Do not rent from here. And to Michelle, if you want someone to rent your property, you should be nice. No one wants to rent from a rude snooty landlord.

Negative experience: I applied a few weeks ago. I felt the staff was rude and snooty, fake. When I asked why she said income requirements. I felt like they discriminated against me because I work door dash and Walmart spark. I bring home 4000.00 per month and I have other income I didn't list from SSA because I felt like the 4000 was enough. When I asked if I could resubmit with all my income she said no pretty much. It was a blessing because I found a beautiful 3/2 home for me and my 2 girls. So thank u for denying me.

Fantastic experience: I came down to Phenix City in the middle of 2021. I couldn't find any place to rent. I also went back to B-ham. After five months of searching, I was offered an one bedroom apartment. I was shocked on the size, but being one person, this was PERFECT for me. I didn't realize how much I disliked those huge complexes that were owned by even larger corporations and they ran it like that! Not here, don't misunderstand me, this is a Large Family's Operations Company. The family atmosphere is what was missing from the rest. I could call in a request and within two days, it would be taking care of. I had an emergency one night. My water heater started to release water onto my floor. I was sweeping water out the front door and panicking. The owner and his son rushed over from Columbus and they took care of everything (the first thing the owner did was turn off the water supply) That never crossed my mind. He didn't even make me feel like the idiot I was! Thanks Mr Thompson . The three of us, mostly them two, had my apartment back to normal, very quickly. I had a brand new waterheater the very next day. They didn't try troubleshoot the malfunctioning one or even fix it, and it was brand new when I moved in. I was given another brand new one, along with a piece of mind. I miss that kind of care and service. I was one tiny apartment out of many 2 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms and hundreds of homes throughout Phenix City and Columbus. That was not even a consideration. The owners came out around 11 pm, not on call emergency maintenance personnel but the owners. Thompson Rental is one A-1 Class Act Business! (If you remember what A-1 stood for, back in the day, then this is the place for your family!)

Negative experience: Do not rent from this People they are very rude. Me and my husband got denied for no reason they didn’t do a background check on us and didn’t run our credit. All they wanted was to see was how much money we made and my husband makes well enough on his own to have that place by herself, and when I asked why we got denied the girl that answers the phone could not tell us all she could say was “I didn’t asked why” and when I asked her, if she could go find out, she told me no. any further questions after that, all she could Say was OK and kept saying OK OK OK over the phone instead of talking to me and letting me know why. She didn’t wanna go ask anybody else why we got denied.

Fantastic experience: Good clean properties with lawns maintained and work orders maintained and completed quickly

Negative experience: Unprofessional and Liars. All of a sudden denied my application because I accidently gave the wrong contact info, I did call and correct with Abby but they said it was a red flag. I have great credit, more than the income and perfect renter history. Such a shame.

Negative experience: Very picky about who they will and will not rent to. I find this incredibly insulting seeing as how majority of the people that are living in the units are running the place down and disturbing and walking around like some kids that need a belt whipping. But a regular family with decent income is turned away. Hmm.

Negative experience: Thompson Properties located in Phenix City, Alabama is by far one of the most unprofessional businesses I've ever worked with it. Brad the rude wanna be middle manager was extremely rude, unprofessional, and lucky we were on the phone and not in person. I later called back and spoke with Michelle who came with a much nicer facad however, she was full of lies. Michelle instead of saying they couldn't assist instead gave me the run around for weeks asking for more and more additional information only to default on her word in the end! I highly recommend not using this business.

Negative experience: I make about 2,000 every two weeks but I was denied and I have good credit so I don't know why I was denied. This was after he bought the apartments I was living in and kicked everyone out after saying he was gonna renovate them THEY ARE LIARS and pick and choose who they want to move in don't waste your time.

Negative experience: I've done put in 2 application and both time got denied me and my boyfriend both makes good money to pay they just pick who they want to stay there and I think its a races thing

Negative experience: We waited a week for an answer after being promised a day or two turnaround time. I had to call twice ! We were denied and they were not able to tell us why. We have good rental history and make the income. They pick and choose the people they approve.

Negative experience: I went in to apply to rent a house and the lady at the desk had her lunch all across the desk. When I finished with the application, she told me it would be a day turn around and that I would get a call the next day. Well the next day came and I never got a call. On the second day I decided to call them. It took me 6 calls plus two more from a friend to finally reach them. I got denied because I had no rental history. This review is not because I got denied, it's due to the terrible customer service provided. I had to wait two days until I called several times after I was promised a one day turn around just to get denied.
