Fantastic experience: Jon was fantastic to work with. I was a first-time homebuyer without a feel for what the market had to offer, so Jon was an indispensable resource on my journey. He was extremely responsive and always had a plan. We walked through 10+ listed homes before I had confidence in what I was looking for. He kept me engaged while browsing listings, touring homes, and ultimately negotiating a purchase agreement. He did a fantastic job negotiating, far better than I ever could have. He saved me a great deal of money and helped cater the agreement to my own financial planning. To anyone shy about working with a real estate agent: this is the most cut-and-dry example of "added value" provided to the process, because that final number ends up printed in black and white and signed in ink. After I signed the dotted line, Jon even continued to help coordinate contractors on short notice before I moved in. Overall, Jon performs at an extremely high level and is capable of filling in blanks when needed. He was always offering to do more, even if it was something outside of his direct responsibility. Fantastic experience: Jon was awesome right from the start. We were totally lost with where to start buying a home and he met us with all of the information ready to go. He had it all in a packet for each step of the process and up front pricing even before we delved into it. Once we started looking at properties it got even better. Jon lent us his years of experience on location effects on pricing, condition of the property, and all sorts of tid bits we hadn't even thought of. I greatly appreciated how he did not sugar coat anything or pressure us in any way to buy a place. Somehow he was able to get a good sense of what we were looking for and steered us to a property we couldn't be happier with. One thing that really stood out for me was one of the first properties we looked at. Looking at it online we were very excited about it......until we arrived in person. Jon never discouraged us in the sense that if we wanted it that it would be our choice, but he pointed out lots of work that needed to be done. The windows weren't sealed, the roof didn't have good ventilation that was causing visible moisture issues, and some DIY projects in the home that could be a problem. He just pointed it out and said they could be negotiating tools for an offer or things the association may be responsible to fix. Either way he picked up on it pretty quickly that we wanted something a little more move in ready. Moving on in the process looking at homes we never felt rushed in making a decision. Jon always promptly picked us up to go look at the next list of properties we had picked to go visit. He told us as we were looking that we would "know this felt like coming home" when we walked into a place. I sort of shrugged that off as we were looking, and we had a few strong candidates we were formulating a plan to put in an offer. All up until we toured a spot in cottage grove and boy, was he ever right. We walked out of that home and me, and my wife, just looked at each other and said we want it. Jon then worked with us all night on different approaches we could take with putting an offer in based on our needs, budget, time the home was on the market, and a whole bunch of factors. Jon also worked with us on all of the disclosures and the details of the HOA documents since those were a little hard to navigate on our own (we bought a townhome). We landed on negotiating to get the sellers to pay for closing costs while we would pay asking price as an offer and they accepted the next day! Jon's services didn't end there. All throughout he interfaced with our mortgage loan officer, answering all of our frequent questions (always promptly that same day which I greatly appreciated). He worked with us on things we had never even thought of like buy down rates on our mortgage. We got a home warranty lined up, title insurance, and all the little I's to dot and T's to cross. On the final walkthrough he made sure to keep our wishes at heart that the home was the way we wanted it for the big purchase. He was very detailed making sure that anything they left behind that we were 100% ok with (they left some spare lightbulbs and the like behind which was cool with us). The cherry on top was when Jon met us with the key at the title office! He was excited for us, and we are still in contact for questions even after the purchase. The seller's realtor left their lockbox for a house key on the door for a week which I thought was odd, but he kept in contact with me to work that out too. The overall experience was like having a super knowledgeable and connected older brother who was looking out for us through the whole process. I truly can't speak highly enough about our experience!

Fantastic experience: When we met Jon the first time, we weren't quite ready to buy Jon did not push us at all. When we found out we were pregnant a few months later, we called Jon and he took us to 12 houses that weekend. He talked us through every house and the pros/cons of each. Fantastic experience: I’ve known Jon for years but I never like to mix business with friends. I had Jon over to our house early last winter to give us an idea of what our house was worth and how much work would be needed to get what we wanted out of it monetarily. Jon was very blunt and honest with us that our expectations were a bit too high and helped to bring us back to earth which was a much needed reality check. After talking with Jon we rolled up our sleeves and got to work on the house based on his advice on inexpensive improvements and paint colors. Before listing I painted the exterior of the house with friends and I texted Jon a picture of the new color and out of nowhere he showed up 15 minutes later to inspect our progress. We had a short conversation but that’s when he told me what we had done was a game changer. We had a great conversation and he added a few more items to my list of things to do and we arranged time for later that week to lock him up as our realtor. He had done multiple hours of time with us having much needed conversations all while not even officially being our realtor and I think this speaks to the character of Jon. When a person is spending valuable time with you and no promise of a contract in the hottest real-estate market in 15 years you know you have a good realtor and someone that cares not just about making the sale but making sure you get the most out of your time and effort. Jon and his team had worked with us hand in hand on the timing of the sale and the amazingly beautiful staging job his team did. After all was said and done and the strategy we devised the home went up for sale Friday morning at 11:00am and was sold by Sunday at 7:00pm for a total of $20,000 over asking price. If I can say one thing about Jon and the Lopez team it’s that they are truly the best in the business!

Fantastic experience: The Lopez Team made our dreams their own, and got us our forever house! When we started working with Jon and Chelsie, I didn't know anything about house valuations and real estate (I still don't), but they spent hours educating us on the marketplace, the prospects for selling our former home (as well as my father's house), and the challenges with buying our new house. This is exactly what I needed out of a real estate agent- a passionate, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic expert who gave us frank talk and didn't sugarcoat anything. Jon laid out a number of scenarios for what we could expect with selling/buying, and prepared us for a number of outcomes so that there would be no surprises, and I'm so thankful that he did; at the time we sold our house, the marketplace was INCREDIBLY competitive, and there were a couple times where we thought we had our 'forever home' but it got snatched up by another buyer. This is where Jon's foresight really paid dividends- he positioned us to remain motivated and positive throughout this experience, and our patience paid off. Fantastic experience: My girlfriend, Genni, and I had a goal to buy a house 1 year after we moved back home to Minnesota from Chicago last Spring. We accomplished that goal, and it would not have been possible without Jon Lopez. We began looking seriously at houses in Jan. 2018 and solicited the help of Jon. He explained the housing market was a "Sellers Market" but we were ready to plant roots regardless of the challenges ahead of us. Jon was invaluable in helping us navigate those challenges. For starters, he made himself available to us on several occasions for showings well outside of "business hours" (evenings and weekends), because that is when Genni and I were available. Jon was extremely knowledgeable, not just of the housing market, but of the houses themselves, providing insight and advice at every turn. When it came time to put in our first offer, we learned exactly how competitive this market was going to be. We didn't win our first 3 offers, but that didn't detour Jon at all. He worked tirelessly to find us the right house. Once we had an accepted offer, and after the inspection, Jon knew what gave us leverage to allow for seller paid closing costs; which in turn, allowed us to put down enough to get rid of mortgage insurance! This knocked $200 off our monthly mortgage for the home!!! Jon also helped us negotiate some yard equipment into the deal that we didn't need to go purchase after moving in. He has gone above and beyond for my wife and I. Running all over the city and creating video walkthroughs of homes we weren't able to make it to while house hunting. He's the best! Very grateful we get to work with him.

Negative experience: This realtor helped me buy my first house which was a great experience for a first time home buyer. We then decided to work with him to sell our current home and build a new one. In the beginning, he misled us, gave us poor advice and blamed us when we questioned his ability to continue and finish. Throughout the process of building, he misunderstood what the builder needed to close, and then relayed the misinformation, causing us a great deal of unnecessary stress. He didn't know what to list our house for and wanted to test the market out with a pre-list and we got one offer...we might be the only people in this market to only get one offer at exactly what it appraised at. With 2 weeks left to close on our house and 2 more weeks left to close on the new build, he backs out because he feels hurt that we shared our feelings and experience with how he's been towards us. If this is what you what to deal with, this is your realtor! I wish I would have went with a more experienced and confident realtor.

Fantastic experience: There were many times Jon went above and beyond for us. We were looking in a very specific area and weren’t able to setup more than 1 showing at a time. Jon accommodated us at every turn which was awesome. Jon added a great deal of value to our negotiations, from giving great advice to being willing to ask for and get extra items added to the deal that were helpful to us. Jon kept our best interest in mind during our home buying process from location, to size, how it fit our budget and what foreseen things he saw in a property or what possible unforeseen things he has seen in similar properties. As well as fighting to get the closing date we needed to avoid being in the middle of the move when our children had to start school. I would highly recommend Jon to any and everyone looking to purchase a home. I would tell them that everything that is in Jon’s control, keeping clients informed and comfortable with each step in the process he did for us and does amazingly well at. I would add that he is also able to answer any and every question you may have. We feel like we gained a friend in the process also, which helped make the experience enjoyable.
