Negative experience: I can tell you this: starting over has to be the absolute hardest thing. But this denial pushed me to go ahead and accept a pre-approval for a home purchase. The interest rate is INSANE, but what choice do I have? These property management companies are collecting application fees. They aren't truly looking for tenants. I made over $100K last year. I have over $30K in savings. I just got a call saying my credit was good. But my paperwork? I pay myself a salary on record with the Michigan Department of Treasury. Because I’m self-employed, though, it was “too much work” for them to figure out what I actually make. I even gave them my 2025 tax returns. I was ready to pay for months in advance. I can't even get them to do the work. I knew something was off with the way the pre-qualification process over the phone went for just to view the property. I could tell I was being racially profiled—like there’s no way a Black woman could be making that kind of money. (I believe this was the actual property manager, the leasing agent was a different person) Just watch yourselves, y’all. Look at the reviews. Look at how they respond to their tenants or potential tenants. And most of all, look at how they respond to this one. Because they will. And based off of how they've treated others in review responses, it's a tell. Or a sign from the lord I shouldn't be renting from them. Use your discernment. Ask yourself how badly you need a place to live. Thankfully for me, it’s not urgent. But if it were, you’d be out $65. Y’all take care. It’s ROUGH out here. To be fair he leasing agent was very nice. She collected what was asked for. They simply didn't want to do the work, look at my documents, tax returns, to see if I qualify. I was automatically denied based off self-employment per the phone call. I am considering reaching out to the Fair Housing Center to file a formal complaint or contacting the attorney general. Yes, $65 may sound petty, but sometimes you have to show companies that actively decide they don’t feel like doing the work (you paid for) who they are dealing with. That denial (which is recorded oer the phone) was absolutely discriminatory.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience working with Jazmin at Propel Property Management. She was always clear and professional in her communication, making sure all of my questions were answered thoroughly and promptly. She was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful throughout the entire process, which made everything much less stressful!

The process was very smooth, both properties were nice, clean and very welcoming as you walk through the door! I would definitely recommend them as a resourceful and the settings are suitable for long term stay as your home!

Negative experience: Propel property Management is unprofessional. Every other month my heat and hot water goes out. The problem never seems to be resolved. I've lived here 20 years I never had a problem until propel brought the property. It has gone downhill since then. My maintenance concerns are never corrected or looked into. I'm thinking about moving or putting my rent into escrow. Until things get fixed properly. I would avoid this company at all cost!!

Positive experience: I live in one of their properties currently! I work with Carrie whenever I have any property maintenance issues she's thorough. She's quick and easy to communicate with and she's really wonderful to work with. I really enjoy living at my property.

Fantastic experience: Carrie, the maintenance supervisor, is the best! I submitted a request for repair during the evening and by 8:15am she called me back. I thought I did a good DIY repair & said services weren’t needed. Next day, I had to resubmit because clearly I didn’t remedy anything. She called me in 20 mins & had a tech to my house in 45 mins! He fixed everything back to working conditions within no time. Great service all around
