They listened to our opinions as we jointly chose our listing price and the kinds of advertising we thought would work best. During the entire process of preparing our condo for sale they were quick to respond to our questions and gave us a choice of referrals for handymen to take care of painting and other minor repairs. No one could doubt the effectiveness of Andrew's online description of our condo's highlights. Within an hour of going online, we had a visitor who made an offer the next day - for $15,000 more than our asking price. When Andrew phoned me that morning, I had to ask him to repeat the number because I wasn't sure I'd heard right! Throughout this process Andrew and Sabrina behaved with the highest integrity. They promised and donated in our name a portion of their fee to a local charity of our choice, the Bellingham Food Bank. Because the sale happened so quickly, there was no reason to send out the postcard mailing we'd agreed to. Without our even asking, Andrew made arrangements to make sure the cost of that unsent mailing was refunded to us in the final settlement. We've sold homes before, but never was the whole process so smooth and transparent.

He helped us with our home purchase in Bellingham, getting the house for $10K under appraisal, which really says a lot about his knowledge of the local market. He was always responsive, easy to talk to, and gave clear, honest advice throughout the process. Andrew also has a great local network, which made everything move smoothly. We felt well taken care of from start to finish and would absolutely recommend him to anyone buying in the area.

Experiencia negativa: I do NOT recommend Andrew Shelton because I had a very negative experience with him in Summer 2024. Long story short with the main facts, Andrew offered to pay for some repairs so I didn't push back on the sellers, he then put a $500 limit on those repairs over 30 days later, and after some months of back and forth without coming to an agreement, I took him to small claims for those repair costs. I won the judgement, at which point he appealed it to superior court, which then upheld the small claims judgement. After a year and a half, I finally have a resolution and received payment. My advice to anyone that does business with Andrew is to GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING! He likes to do everything over the phone verbally and not via email, so be careful on any promises he makes verbally. UPDATE (due to Andrew's response below): The $500 was not a gift, it was a limit placed on the original verbal offer to pay for the repairs totaling close to $4000. The reason the judges found in my favor in both small claims and superior courts was because Andrew wrote me via email “my verbal assurance to you that I’d cover $500 of the carpentry during the inspection window should’ve been entered into the written record right away.” This email indicated that there was a verbal promise made (promissory estoppel), therefore, the judge said that the $500 was obviously not a gift based on his own words. The court has transcripts of both cases which corroborate all this. The fact that Andrew now has a complaint pending with the WA State Judicial Conduct Commission against the judge who presided over our case just shows you what kind of person he is. He made close to $57K in commissions from me and then squabbled over his own verbal promise to pay $4000 in repairs. As stated previously, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. Don't be fooled by verbal promises and salesman tactics to close deals quickly.

He canvassed, coordinated, and communicated nonstop, somehow keeping me fully updated even while I was nowhere near the state. If you want an agent who works harder than a toddler trying to open a child-proof snack container, Andrew’s your guy.

He knows the Bellingham market intimately and goes so far above what any other realtor we’ve ever used has done. To give you an idea of what I mean, Andrew went into a crawl space under a house to inspect it for us! He even helped us move our things into the house. Most importantly, from a real estate standpoint, while countless other people were having to put in offers on multiple houses and losing deals, we literally got the first house we put an offer in on and in the exact neighborhood we wanted. This was an incredible feat in Bellingham’s hot market. I would recommend Andrew to literally anyone. He is the real deal.
