Experiencia fantástica: You're looking to buy or sell your house and need an agent? Stop your search. Call Caliber right now. My name is Polly, and I've worked with Carrie and Charisse for years. They've helped me purchase and sell homes, as well as helped family and friends. But that's not why you should use them. There are agents who will do the basics, but honestly, when does a purchase or sale ever go exactly the way you want it to? NEVER. That's why you need a team that doesn't shy away from hiccups or setbacks, they lean in. In my most recent experience with Caliber, the house I was selling fell out of escrow THREE times! Why? Forces outside of our control, namely my previous HOA and their inability to ensure required work in our community was completed on time. Long story short, my hands were tied because the work needed to be completed throughout the community in order for a buyer's lender to approve their loan. If I had been working with anyone other than Caliber, I probably would have been told to take my house off the market and wait until the work was done, mind you, I was contingent on another home during this entire process. But Carrie and Charisse didn't back down. Each time we fell out of escrow, they set up another open house, and we'd get new offers. And instead of relying on a buyer's lender, Caliber went out and found a diamond-in-the-rough bank that would approve a buyer's loan for my old place, even with the HOA work still in progress. Their hard work resulted in the sale of my previous house, the purchase of my new home, and an experience that was difficult, but manageable, because I knew Carrie and Charisse had my back. And they'll have your back, too. Oh, and they're funny, which is an added bonus. :)

Experiencia negativa: When a brokerage terminates an agent from a job is one thing, and it is totally acceptable. What is not acceptable is when an agent is terminated by their Broker when they have first deal already in escrow. This happened to my wife, Vijaya "Maddy". No explanation was given. Multiple attempts to find out why were ignored. If you choose to do business with this agency in any sort of way, beware because they lack ethics, transparency, and professionalism. Pursue at your own risk. To claim no knowledge of her is not a surprise, yet the whole experience has been documented. To make an outright lie that any explanation was given is also no surprise. Again, why do it in the middle of an escrow. This has been deemed unprofessional by us and many other agencies who have heard this story. I'm just here to share the story and help others make a better decision on who they choose for employment and real estate needs.

Experiencia fantástica: Let me start with a confession: I hate realtors !!!! Well, I guess I should say: I hated realtors until I met Charisse Okomato. To me realtors were fake, self-interested, dishonest, money grabbing, useless intermediaries (and I am restraining myself ). Charisse has been the complete opposite: She is genuine, honest, transparent, extremely useful and resourceful. She spent countless hours kindly answering the many (many !!!) questions we had from the most naïve to the most minute. Because we live in New York, she travelled all around Orange county and the Los Angeles area to show us houses on video. She was a key source of information and advice during our negotiations and during the escrow process (we are first time-clueless buyers). The cherry on top is that, after we closed on the house, when she no longer had any realtor commitment to us, Charisse graciously drove an hour during the weekend to help us fix the fence, bringing her own tool and ending up doing most of the work. Who does that? BTW, we bought a relatively inexpensive house by LA’s standards, so her commission was clearly not her prime motivation. All this to say that next time we buy/sell a house, I will beg her to take us as clients.… and so should you!!!

Experiencia positiva: Don't think I ever met Charisse... Was working with Laura Hamann Laura was very nice, responsive, young but knowledgeable and confident. Disappointed in their Home Inspector. He missed the fact that the HVAC units are too small for the house, finding out now that it's getting cold and heat doesn't reach the bedrooms. Contractor said we'll find the same in the summer with the heat; Looks like I'll be sleeping in the kitchen. He also missed the German Cockroaches. (well maybe not the kitchen after all) What a cluster! Moral of the story; get your own independent inspector.

When we started the search for our new home we new that the process was not going to be easy, my wife and I were very specific in what we were looking for, you know the perfect house in the perfect neighborhood at the perfect price. Jaclyn was able to find a great house in that perfect neighborhood on the best sized lot, but the seller was not budging on the price. We new that we had a good agent but really started to show when Jaclyn used the information on recent comps, condition of the home, and the inspection report to negotiate a price that was fair for everyone involved. Once the price was negotiated and escrow was closed you would think that your real-estate agent would say "keep me in mind if you know of anyone looking to buy or sell" and move on. Instead, Jaclyn went above and beyond, we had an issue with the previous owner, this issue had nothing to do with Jaclyn but she was very supportive and helped us though the resolution of the issue (this took months). Jaclyn would not have to ask us to recommend her to anyone looking to buy/sell a property she has earned the referrals that she gets and we definitely refer her to anyone that we can. We were sure to refer Jaclyn to our neighbors who are selling soon as well. She is the right choice!
