Property manager Robert Barbuto is a great guy to work with and does everything he can to keep his tenants satisfied. I’ve leased with them for 3 years, and any time an issue comes up, they are very quick to resolve it. I will continue leasing with Derosa properties for as long as i’m leasing in Lowell.

Experiencia negativa: Can't really say I've had code enforcement on the previous owners for 2 years and DeRosa hasn't made any changes since they took over but they are new so we will see... this is just a few of the violations, the whole foundation is sliding off and the basement is condemned.

Experiencia fantástica: I lived with my cat at 820 Merrimack this past year as a sophomore at UML, it was great. It's close to the university, well cared for and safely positioned next to the police. Common issues like bugs and washer/dryer stuff were addressed before I'd even notice they were a problem, and every issue I brought up was immediately acknowledged and tended to. This was my first time living alone and the landlord made it very easy for me. Despite the schooling, I lived very peacefully this year- If I weren't transferring, I would've renewed my lease.

Experiencia negativa: Awful to deal with in general, but the icing on the cake was making the security deposit checks out to both tenants of our unit rather than the person whose name and SSN were tied to the escrow account for the funds. In the time we lived there, we had a sewage flood that ruined a decent amount of our belongings, no luck getting practically anything fixed in the apartment, and finally this issue with the deposit return. They also forgot to send out lease renewals to multiple tenants this year. Genuinely abysmal, stay very far away if you can.

Experiencia negativa: Great value living arrangements and "polite" staff. Will lie and give you the runaround about everything. Will not repair units. Will tell you one thing just to shut you up for the rest of the day, only to repeat the cycle endlessly instead of just being up front with you about timeframes. Frustrating to work with.

Experiencia negativa: They take advantage of all college kids. Basically running a monopoly against UML students. Driveway and sidewalks were never shoveled or salted. Had to beg and call multiple times to get repairs. This place certainly is not up to inspection.

If you want a second floor with one egress instead of the MANDATORY 2 (google it) this is the place for you! You want something fixed but the only way to do it is to call the Board of Health, this is the place for you! C'mon down!

Experiencia fantástica: I moved into an apartment owned and maintained by DeRosa Properites about 2 years ago. We signed 2 12 month leases with them. If we had any issue or problem we contacted Robert from DeRosa Properties, and he took care of the problem immediately. I can’t say enough good things about DeRosa Properties, Robby in particular. The rent can sometimes be a little higher than that of other student apartment rentals, but you do get what you’re paying for. DeRosa apartments are significantly nicer, coming with new appliances, hardwood floors, and full size bathrooms. If there is any issue with your unit, it’ll be taken care of immediately. I would certainly rent from them again if I wasn’t moving out of the Lowell area.

Experiencia fantástica: During a three year stay in a DeRosa Properties residence, my roommates and I had very few problems. The small minor things, such as a sink leaking, were handled promptly and without hassle. We were handed the residence in “like-new” good condition, clean and undamaged. The residence was quite large for the rent we paid, had a front and back porch, small yard, and even a shed, which was very useful for bike storage. The hardwood floors were some of the most level in Lowell. The house had central air, well insulated windows and doors, and energy efficient fixtures. As for the employees that we came in contact with, we were always treated fairly, professionally, and with respect. I would highly recommend DeRosa for a Lowell apartment or home rental!

Experiencia negativa: I've been renting through DeRosa for about a year now. The landlord never responds to any of my calls or texts unless he's looking for money. The house I'm living in is newly renovated but all the corners they cut renovating it really show. The ceilings are literally a different height in every room (not on purpose). My roommate's room is at such a slant that his stuff is rolling "downhill". When I first moved in there were no city garbage cans, human sewage (feces) all over the basement, the AC didn't work, rampant water damage in the ceiling (to the point where it was dripping on the floor), none of the windows had screens (and still don't), the windows didn't lock (and still don't), and our doorknobs are constantly breaking. The Super will walk into my house unannounced and without permission (this is illegal). They don't always shovel when there is snow. I have to admit the location couldn't be better but the outrageous price tag isn't worth it, especially with the endless list of problems and headache of dealing with the landlord. Would most definitely NOT recommend renting from DeRosa.

I was lied to about approximate utility bill amounts and as soon as we paid our First, Last, and Security... its like we didnt exist. Horrible horrible landlord. Do not rent from these people.

Property manager never answers texts or calls, our apartment is "newly renovated" but there is not a single screen in any window, cardboard was used as weather stripping. No windows lock, showers were not properly caulked, pipes exploded within a week of living there and were not fixed until a month after (sewage all over the basement for 2 weeks), the list of problems is endless. If you're looking to rent a semi-permanent residence in Lowell, look elsewhere.
