Experiencia negativa: WORST MANAGEMENT I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. If you’re looking at one of their locations, run from it. They get you by having the apartment updated but the renovation are poorly done. When I moved in I had so many issues from tools still being laid around to hot water heater not working, to not being able to fully open the refrigerator cause it was built to close to the wall limiting the access to open it and to get these issues fixed it took months. In addition the flooring in my apartment was extremely uneven. I moved out of their apartment after a year and gave my 30 days notice but I already had paid rent for the next month. THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED THE DAYS OF RENT OWED TO ME but had the audacity to charge me a cleaning fee (when I left the place spotless) and damage to a wall their maintenance team did when they replaced my water heater. When I call to discuss, no one ever answers, I call 3 times a day for 2 weeks straight! This is the worst property management company I have ever dealt with and to be frank, they should be run out of business.

Experiencia negativa: I have now left 3 messages for Coastline regarding the poor management of my rental period and move out in Torrance. No return call, and only 1/2 of my deposit has been returned. I let the property manager (who is literally the worst person I have ever met) into my apartment earlier than I need to, and she failed to let me know of anything that needed to be taken care of. It's illegal to take $ out of your security deposit without giving the tenant time to fix it, if the apartment has not yet been surrendered. I have called my attorney, and if the remainder of my deposit is not returned small claims court is in your future, which will clearly be more than you returning my full deposit. It's telling that other properties managed by Coastline have terrible things to say about this property manager. Stay away from 21107 Amie. **RESPONDING TO THE BUSINESS RESPONSE** I have called 5 times with no response, you obviously do not take ANYTHING seriously. You can get my number from my many messages. I have already started the small claims court proceedings.

Experiencia negativa: I lived in 4006 Emerald St. It has been two months since I moved out and building managers have not returned my security deposit of amount $2678.90. I mailed them a demand letter on June 20. They were not present during their work hours, and they still have not rescheduled its redelivery. I have photos and videos from pre and post move-out inspection and am ready to go to the court unless I get my money back.

Required repairs have been delayed, and no reasonable relocation plan has been provided, even after involvement from local authorities. Conditions remain unresolved, creating ongoing safety and health concerns for my household. I have incurred significant out-of-pocket expenses as a result of their inaction. There has still been no resolution as of today February 20th 2026 3 months since the initial habitability issue.

Experiencia negativa: Apartment is nice enough but if you need m maintainance forget it. Waited a month for the garage door to get fixed and 2 cars were broken into while we waited. I moved in August and still waiting to get the deposit back. They don't answer the phone.

Experiencia negativa: Coastline Real Estate Advisors, a property management company that has failed to return my security deposit within the 21-day period mandated by California law. It has now been over two months since my tenancy ended, and despite repeated attempts to contact the company, I have still not received the deposit. Coastline Real Estate Advisors initially claimed that the check was sent, but when I followed up after not receiving it, their communication became inconsistent and unprofessional. At one point, they promised to reissue the check, but that also has not occurred. Since then, the company has become increasingly unresponsive, ignoring my emails and phone calls. This kind of behavior is not only unethical, but appears to be a deliberate effort to take advantage of tenants—particularly college students who may not have the resources to pursue legal action. I believe this practice reflects a pattern of negligence and exploitation that should be formally investigated. Coastline Real Estate Advisors needs to be held accountable for: Failing to return the full security deposit within the legal 21-day timeline Providing misleading or false information regarding the status of the deposit Demonstrating a consistent lack of professionalism and communication

Communication was fast, every service request was handled promptly and professionally, and the entire process was seamless. We’re grateful for such a smooth and positive tenancy.

Experiencia negativa: Our experience with the leasing agent for the property on Amethyst St. in Redondo Beach was frustrating. Communication was extremely poor - we received either very slow or no response or follow-through to several of our questions. If this was the level of service during the application process, I can only imagine how much worse it would have been after signing a lease. To make matters worse, it became clear that we were just a backup option when applying for the unit we were interested in. The property was removed from listings a day after we applied, indicating they already had applicants in place. A week has passed since we applied and the leasing agent never bothered to inform us that the unit is taken despite knowing we were interested. She didn’t offer alternatives - like the available four-bedroom units, which we would have considered. As a result, we wasted not only time but also money on an application fee for a unit we were never going to get. I wouldn’t recommend Coastline Real Estate Advisors to anyone looking for a responsive and professional leasing experience.

Experiencia negativa: Coastline had mistakenly withheld $100 of my rent money. I had paid rent to Coastline in December of 2021. Coastline sold the property to another property manager, and was supposed to transfer that rent money to the new property manager. They did so, but managed to be $100 short. I had been seeking to get my new property manager the full rent for months. One of Coastline's managers, Christina Castro, who was responsible for such matters, informed me that she wouldn't help me resolve this at all. After sending a preliminary email to their accounting team about my intentions to file a claim in small claims court, Christian Cabrera promptly replied and handled the issue. Though I am glad that this issue resolved, I am disappointed that some response arrived only after I brought up legal action. I continue to warn future tenants about conducting business with Coastline because their sloppiness in accounting will become your literal expense, or at the very least, your lingering inconvenience. This post has been edited from its original complaint in consideration of the issue's resolution.

Experiencia negativa: Don’t move here they are very unprofessional. They have an after hour emergency line and they just hang up on you without making your emergency matter. They don’t call you back and the employees are rude and think there better than you. Operator 13 has very bad attitude. She request all your information just to hang up on you and doesn’t provide you with NO status. They turn your water off consistently throughout the week. And EMERGENCY ARE NOT MET WHEN THE EMERGENCY IS OCCURRING. They waste your time. I would GIVE 0 stars.

(Like me) I found an apartment in LA county that I really like but if this is how they treat the tenants, it’s a hard pass for me. I’m coming from a poorly managed apartment complex and the management/corporate is incompetent and does not care. Landlords, management, corporate need to step up. Making money off of people who are promised and reassured something that clearly becomes untrue after move in should be a crime. Fortunately, that just seems to be how LA is. I just felt compelled to state that they won’t be getting any money from me.

Completely unresponsive to emergency maintenance issues (including water damage, gas leak, and electric issues) on multiple occasions. surface level upgraded finishes in units to mask outdated and problematic buildings that they neglect actual maintenance/repair on. After having to move out of our unit due to roof issues, no sooner were we back in and the drywall dust cleaned up than we began having random power outages. Cannot wait until this lease is up, will warn anyone renting in the LA County area to avoid their properties. I've been renting for 15 years and have never had a worse experience with a management company.

(5008 hazeltine ave) I've had nothing but issues since i've moved in. From gas leaks to plumbing issues. I wasn't able to park in my parking space i pay for, for 8 out of the 10 months I've been here due to managements lack of organization and them not caring about their tenants. We've had four different managers since living here and I haven"t even been here for a year. No one ever knows what"s actually going on. Most of the time management is almost impossible to get a hold of and when you do they say oh I'll get back to you and never do! Avoid this company ! I wish i would have!

Experiencia negativa: 2106 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Redondo Beach. The worst management ever that can run the property. They dont care about their customers and never resolve the issues. Their security level is the worst. The did not want to help to resolve the thieves that are happening on regular basis, they dont want to check their cameras that they have everywhere to identify the thief. They never clean the property and the trash can sits months before it will be removed.

Experiencia negativa: PLEASE HELP! Trying to get this resolved without legal action. I just moved out and trying to contact someone from corporate to get my security deposit back. I have sent multiple emails with no response. It's been well past the 21 days required to pay back a security deposit.

Experiencia negativa: I rented out a unit and could not have been happier with the maintenance repair guy Glen. Yet then Covid hit... I was forced to relocate due to work in March, and decided to do the nice thing and went above and beyond to pay my rent till November even though I already moved out. Erika was supposed to be there for the walkout yet failed to show. I did the walk through with the maintenance manager and he said I left the apartment in perfect condition. I emailed for 3 weeks asking for my security deposit and Erika never answered. She only returned an email once I emailed and called corporate. Erika finally responded saying "The apartment had to be cleaned as the floors needed to be swept and moped". I find that extremely frugal and felt very nickel and dimed. I am sorry that she had to be so stingy and not be a proper manager, really disappointed that Coastiline would employ someone who has not been doing any work for the tenants.

Experiencia negativa: I requested an appointment to view an apartment. I received numerous emails confirming the appointment and received a reminder email 2 hours before the appointment. I arrived on time and no one showed up. I called and emailed and received no response.

Experiencia negativa: I wish I could give less than 1 star. Their building at 1635 S Beverly Glen is 1. Not ada compliant. 2. Does not have proper insulation in the walls or floors, which allows for tenants to hear people in the units above or next to them when whispering. The units are either too hot or too cold in the winter - there is no in between. The leasing agent, Rosa Hernandez, does not reply to any sort of messages when you need answers in timely matters. They just returned our security deposit almost 2 months late, well out of the 21 day CALIFORNIA STATE LAW. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS BUILDING AND COMPANY!!

Online shows 4 available units in the building. How do you expect to rent the vacant units if you never respond or show them? reading other reviews it seems this lack of responsiveness is not an isolated incident, and would only get worse if there was an actual issue that needed assistance to repair.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!! we had a clogged sink that would fill with water every time someone used the shower or if our upstairs neighbors used their sink or shower. We initially requested the maintenance request a week and a half ago. we have been calling everyday to get someone out there. on the 3 day of calling the plumber calls me to let me know that he doesn't want to drive to my side of town because it was too late already. Next day, same guy calls to say that he has family issues at home and cant make it. Its ridiculous!!!! if you cant make it send someone else! I honestly don't care about your personal issues, you get paid by the company to take care of emergencies!! A WEEK AND A HALF OF CALLING!! and the lady that answered today had an attitude with my husband when he called to get a specific time someone would be out there. DON'T GET UPSET FOR NOT DOING YOUR JOB LADY!! IF SOMEONE WOULD HAVE BEEN SENT OUT THE FIRST DAY I CALLED THEN I WOULDN'T HAVE A REASON TO BE UPSET!!

Experiencia negativa: I didn't think it was possible to have worse property management than my building's previous company, Miller and DeSatnik. Coastline Real Estate far exceeds them in complete lack of communication and no attention to their properties. I've been reaching out constantly for six months about the large piles of termite droppings and mold that they won't tend to. They won't even respond any more when I email them multiple times. On top of that, they don't even know who is renting from them. We have proof of our lease and who is on it (I've been living in this unit for over six years), we even have their scanned copy of the contract that they sent to us. But they send emails to previous tenants regarding our unit and offering buyout ("relocation") opportunities. I know this because I have contact with the previous tenants and they send me the emails. The ONLY time we were able to talk to someone was when we went to the address on google, and they wouldn't let us inside. We had to pay rent through a crack in the doorway which is really weird. When they asked for our names for the payment, they didn't even have our names in their system! There HAS to be something illegal there, some sort of violating our rights, but nothing I'm aware of as I type this. The worst part is I have no way to talk to upper management about this. Their contact is nowhere to be found, only the maintenance girl Angie and Kala. Based on other reviews I've seen online about Coastline, it probably wouldn't even matter since they yell at their tenants and ignore all requests.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT RENT! DO NOT RENT! DO NOT RENT! DO NOT RENT! DO NOT RENT! We rented a unit 2 years ago, the owners sold the building and this company took over. Not only the maintenance is extremely poor, remodeling to them means painting over granite counters and other appliances, neighbors who believe taking the trash out means in front of the unit until the morning, dirty pool, cockroaches infested units. Above all, these peoples are THIEVES!!! Do to our financial status at the time we were required to put down a double deposit. We gave a 45+ day notice on April 12, advising we would be moving out on July 1st and inquired about our deposit. They told us our deposit was $1600, this is when we knew we were going to have problems. We submitted all the paperwork, original lease agreement and receipts proving our deposit was in fact $2400. The building maintenance guy Juan told us he gave the paperwork to the people in the office and they would be honoring our $2400, great! Comes June 1st we move out and hand the keys over to Juan and he tells us the unit will be completely remodeled, we won't be charged a penny for repairs and that it usually takes 21 days but as a courtesy all our deposit was going to be refunded by Tuesday (this was on a Thursday). 2 weeks go by, we contact Juan about it and he promises to get back to us but never does. Later that second week we were able to get a phone number from him leading us to a branch office and a contact Alexis, who is an extremely miserable, unprofessional women who will dodge your calls all day long, never respond to texts and have her receptionist stall you, I am truly disgusted by this nasty women's personality. We finally get in touch with her on June 22nd, she says our deposit was submitted for a refund and it would take a couple days to mail it out. Today on June 27th we called again and now the story is, the building was sold twice while we were living there, and our paperwork was submitted to corporate for investigation before they can refund our deposit. What kind of #%@$ is that? a 10 year old child can look at this original lease agreement and see it written in bold "$2400" deposit. Number 2, if truly needed, why wasn't this investigation conducted 45 days before we moved out when we initially gave notice, before we were told "your deposit will be honored". At this point, 27 days after our move out date we have no choice but to send a letter of demand by certified mail, which upon receipt will be followed by a lawsuit. Nearly 24 months, never one single late rent payment. If they want to play games, we will play it by the law. We're smart, educated law students, we're young not stupid, and we will get our deposit back one way or another. Thank you for your time.
