Fantastic experience: The MG helped us purchase our first home at the end of 2017. John Strock, our realtor, helped guide us through the whole process which was extremely helpful to newbies like us. He pointed out things we should pay attention to while we toured houses, advised us on prices and additional fees about certain homes and was always accessible and prompt during communication. He provided us great recommendations for other professionals i.e lender, inspector, etc. which made the process much easier than we could have imagined. While being novices we had no doubt we were in great hands. Fantastic experience: We recently worked with Virginia Gergoff of the Menkiti Group on selling our condominium in DC, and we could not be happier with the results. Virginia is truly a professional--customer-oriented, responsive, courteous, and honest. We were working on a tight timeline with many variables--renters, renovations, etc--and she navigated us safely through the entire process despite these complications. She made herself available at a moment's notice for just about all of our needs: visiting the property, allaying our concerns, explaining next steps, etc. She was both knowledgeable and insightful on DC real estate laws, and she helped us with our decisions on a number of matters concerning our sale--always with *our* best interests in mind and speaking honestly about all of our options without pressuring us in one direction or another. Fantastic experience: Menkiti Group helped us buy and sell a home in spring 2016. Our agent, Jen Frewer, was a steady and guiding force for us through both processes. We met with Jen and Mary Hodges for our listing appointment and immediately knew we were in good hands - they know the market and knew exactly what we needed to do to position our home properly. And we had a full-price offer just days after we listed! The sales team hub made the contract-to-close process absolutely seamless. Great experience! At the same time, we were actively looking for our new home. Jen accompanied us to many listings and provided insight whenever questions arose. We ultimately found a pre-market listing and Jen worked hard to get our offer in and ratified. In fact, the seller (who was represented by another company) commented on what a phenomenal job Jen did throughout the whole transaction - absolutely true. Highly recommend MG Residential for buying and selling a home. They're a top team in the U.S. for very good reason!

Positive experience: I used Menkiti Group as my buying agent. More specifically, Anthony was my agent. He helped me buy a property in Columbia heights. At first, he was friendly and somewhat helpful. The problems right before closing. As we did the final walk through, we find an issue with the microwave. I sent the information he needed to file it with the title company. Long story short, 9 months later I still don't know if he ever did. After closing, he slowly stopped replying to emails calls and texts. I then decided to contact one of his supervisors, Martin. Martin seemed a lot more professional at first, but then went I sent him the invoice he needed, he kept making excuses for why he didn't get it. Needless to say I have given up on this issue and won't use them or recommend them in the future. - Quick Update:Quick update. Menkiti finally resolved this issue.

Fantastic experience: I worked with the Menkiti Group to buy my first condo and also to buy a house. The team provided excellent service on both transactions. They know the DC Real Estate market extremely well and were able to negotiate great deals for me. They really walked me through the process on the first transaction and made sure the loan process went smoothly. I purchased a foreclosed home on the second purchase and was up against 17 other investors. They helped me win the contract and were a fantastic resource as we went through the renovation. This team is highly professional, extremely knowledgable both with first time buyers and investors, and truly cares for their clients. they have remained a great resource to me years after both purchases. I highly reccommend their services.

Negative experience: Buying a home is complicated enough, but working with The Menkiti Group makes it even harder. I highly recommend NOT buying any homes from their real estate team. Here's a taste of what you may be in for: (1) The POC repeatedly changed throughout the process, and the staff at the Menkiti Group were extremely slow in responding to us. Woefully non-responsive. We had to send multiple emails before we heard back from them -- response times took more than a week at times, which made it difficult for us to move the process forward. Luckily, we had a 60-day contract of sale. (2) A title issue came up with our parking space, and Menkiti Group totally fumbled it. Even with a 60-day contract of sale, due to their lack of responsiveness and their lack of focus on the issue, the parking space title issue was not resolved until the week of closing. (3) They never cleaned up from the open house—they left their trash throughout the unit. We found it when we were moving in. They left flyers form the open house on the kitchen counter top, paperwork with details about other nearby properties, a handful of business cards from people who attended the open house, and a large Open House lawn sign in the closet. (4) As icing on the cake, the Menkiti Group provided NO KEYS at our settlement and then they LIED about not having keys. They said that the seller left the keys at the front desk at our new building, which was NOT TRUE. Our settlement agent somehow got the seller's mom on the phone — and she promised to Express Mail the next day. We've owned the place for four days and we still haven't received our keys. (5) They also gave the seller a credit out of our buyer's agent's commission without reducing their own commission, which was not made transparent until the week of closing. Simply awful experience. Hesitate before entering into a business relationship with this group.
