Fantastic experience: Choosing Shelly Hardy as a real estate agent was one of the best moves I have ever made. She worked with me to both sell my cottage in Northampton, MA (co-owned by my parents) and buy a new house in Florence with my partner. And, we successfully managed to do both in just a few months! From start to finish, Shelly impressed me. She was able to work well across generations supporting different personalities and needs, and lovingly and generously fielding questions from my father (a retired lawyer with meticulous attention to detail). She was so patient, kind and non-judgmental. Shelly was extremely knowledgeable about the local market, and always responsive (remarkably quickly!) and well-connected in the area. Anything we needed done – a good lawyer, floors refinishing, fire alarm installation – Shelly had someone who we could call to do it. And, when I told them who we were working with, they all exclaimed “I love Shelly!” and somehow found time to fit us in, no matter how busy they were. Shelly was not afraid to get her hands dirty – my partner and I both were amazed when at the first house she showed us, she leapt over a table and crawled on the cobwebby floor of the basement to check for water in the corner. My favorite part of working with Shelly was her laugh – she laughed easily and often, and made a process that could be quite stressful feel joyful and fun. I live out of state and Shelly guided me through the process of finding property comps to help us determine the best sales price for the property, coordinate communications with the property manager, lawyers and support all the details of negotiations. She did an excellent job of marketing the property which resulted in two competitive and qualified bids from vetted buyers. In addition, she did an excellent job of commuting important information to me and my family member so that we always knew where we were in the process and what we had to do to ensure the property was sold for the target price.
