Positive experience: I lived in the Colfax units, I loved being downtown. I had just graduated, had no car or furniture so I appreciated the furnished Unit. Molly was always very attentive, and the work orders submitted were very promptly fixed! I did complain a bit about the trash but that was mostly because the other tenants didn’t take it out! I also didn’t like that my lease ended before the month ended , a prorated amount I feel would’ve been more appropriate since I did pay for an entire month. I would also suggest the team to give a bit more details on the work being done, sometimes I’d be surprised to come home and see things had been moved, like once I complained about the wifi (I was in the basement unit) and until days later I realized someone had installed a WiFi extender, I was surprised to see it since no one told me that was the service that was completed. I only found out because I moved some furniture. This means facilities comes and goes into the units, so I really hope Irish gold does the appropriate background checks. Other than the team was nice and attentive! I’d definitely recommend them :)

Negative experience: This property still owed me a $500 deposit. These guys are property scammers and rent fraudsters. First they named the place Notre Dame Apts to mislead unsuspecting tenants to believe its affiliated with the University. We ( family of four) moved into a 2-bed Basement Apartment 1A of 832 N Notre Dame Ave) at this complex on the 10th of August 2018, when my wife and I started our graduate degree programs at the University of Notre Dame. We leased there for 3 years till the 30th of July 2021. In line with the lease, the apartment was thoroughly cleaned and swept upon move-out. I notified the Property Manager on the 29th of July 2021 of my move-out details as advised. To my surprise, this property manager never paid back my $540 deposit or any notice in writing within the 45-day time frame. I received a text from the apartment on 09/16/2021 with the following charges: * $335 General cleaning * $200 Carpet cleaning * $300 Painting & patching * $50 Living room: vertical blind set * $25 Mini blind 1 @ 43" * $250 Kitchen: broken fridge parts - lower door bracket, right crisper, crisper shelf * $10 Kitchen: 1 stove Besides the bullet points above, I have never received any formal itemised list or pictures relating to the above charges (this is what other apartments in the area does). The figures also do not add up as my deposit was $540 as the net charge of $695 was what was billed to my account. Upon checking the tenant portal, I rebuffed most charges as illegal & unreasonable as they result from normal wear and tear. I sent the Manager my move-out photos (shared photos are on this drive). He said the photos were misleading and threatened to send my unpaid balance to collections. The Property Manager claimed the apartment was left in a way no US landlord will accept (a claim which I find totally false and baseless). He never provided photos to support his claim. Even when I sent them online links showing what their responsibility as a landlord is, he never acknowledges that. Rather, he stated he would never comment further on the matter. I regard the actions of the Property Manager as highly discriminatory as such treatment will never be meted out to Americans. Most residents in the apartments are international students. It seems to me that they have decided to capitalize on foreigners to charge dubious charges in the tag of move out fees even when they know it is wrong. I also would like to state that the property management never carried out any form of routine painting or carpet cleaning in this apartment for the 3-year duration during which we resided. In addition, there was a burnt portion of the carpet in the apartment prior to moving into the unit which was brought to the attention of both the previous and current Property Manager since 2018. I found out from at least 6 other tenants who moved out that they only treated international students or tenants relocating out of South Bend / Indiana or out of the country this way. We have decided to file a joint complaint with several stakeholder bodies including University of Notre Dame Residential & Housing Department. We have vowed to take this matter up to every extent in form of filing charges and complaints to several regulatory and investigative agencies including publishing this on various online media unless this wrong is corrected. The activities of Irish Gold Management should be thoroughly investigated for all past move-outs as I believe such practices have gone unnoticed because no one has taken the Property Management upon such unfair housing and business practices. I would also advise other former tenants to file a lawsuit against them for my deposit and compensatory damages for any actions by them to claim such illegal unpaid charges. Furthermore, we have had to cope with certain unsafe environmental conditions at the apartment. One such condition is that the bedrooms in the apartment started growing mold ( a complaint some other tenants had with their apartments).

Fantastic experience: I have arrived in South Bend from international, and the Irish Gold team has done an exceptional job of making my transition smooth and calming my mind with their warm hospitality. They returned my deposit as the contract. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I am living at The Bend Apartments with my spouse and two children since Sep 2025. The furnished apartments are well-equipped, and the staff handles maintenance requests promptly. The on-site gym is functional for routine workouts. There are also open spaces available; I live here with two children, and they have adequate room to play outdoors. The property is maintained regularly, providing a comfortable living environment. Management is efficient with necessary services like pest control and snow clearing. Overall, the positive aspects outweigh the negatives, making it a pleasant community to live in.

Anytime I had a question or a small maintenance thing, they were on it right away and followed up just to make sure it got handled. I’d absolutely recommend Irish Gold Management to anyone looking for a great place to live.

They are super responsive, kind, and genuinely care about their tenants. Anytime I had a question or maintenance issue, they handled it right away and always checked in to make sure things were running smoothly. The houses are clean and fully furnished, which made moving in so easy. It honestly felt like home from the start. I have had a stress-free living experience, so if you're looking for a reliable place to stay, Irish Gold Management is the way to go. Couldn’t recommend them more!

Positive experience: *This review relates to Irish Gold's houses only* If you are a Notre Dame parent, please read!!!!!!! There are two lease provisions that you should take note of with Irish Gold: (1) the owner retains the right, at any time, to enter the premises to show the property. If you're expecting privacy while you're living at the house, you should ask to negotiate that lease provision. (2) Irish Gold rents out a lot of very old houses built in the 1950s. If you're out of state like I was, you may not know that South Bend has a lead paint problem. When Irish Gold gives you the lead addendum, if it says that the seller has "no knowledge of lead paint" on the premises, that means Irish Gold did not test the home for lead paint, and you should ask if the home has been tested (the answer will be no). This was put into my lease, and when I tested for lead paint using a free kit from Notre Dame, it came back very positive for lead paint. While Irish Gold responded in a semi reasonable time period, they made us move to a new property for the week the house was being repainted. It's honestly pretty crazy they never bothered to test the house for lead paint in the years they've managed the property, and they haven't done so for any of the other properties. Irish Gold was also completely unwilling to test the water for lead, even after the lead paint was discovered and we received notification from the city of South Bend that our pipes might have been contaminated with lead. There should have been much more concern for our health on their end when it came to that issue. That being said, I still recommend Irish Gold. I think if you are renting one of their homes you should be aware of these issues. Our house had old carpet and they were willing to completely replace the carpet for free when we asked. Management was prompt to respond to our concerns in general, and they even replaced my blinds for free if they ever broke. Their rent is very, very affordable, and they perform a necessary service for the students at Notre Dame. You can tell that the people at Irish Gold do care and they are trying their best. No property management company is perfect and Irish Gold does a good job in general.

Negative experience: Don't let them fool you with cheap rent because it is not as cheap as they will charge you a lot for electricity. You will be paying over $200 or nearly the amount in electricity if you are responsible for paying. Mind you, your roommates will be paying the same amount. You are better off finding better apartments near campus. Btw, don't look at the good reviews because they were providing us with a gift card for making a review.

Positive experience: I moved into my apartment back in December. It was a bit of a shock with all the lake-effect snow, seeing that where I grew up, we never experienced that much. As for the apartments, they are clean and well-maintained, nestled into a quiet cult-di-sac vibe. I enjoy the firepit pit and having the ability to cook my food on the grills. The staff are very friendly and easy-going. They will certainly work with you if you have problems or need advice. They have been very beneficial in my growth within my community. I can't thank them enough for all they have done for me. I only pray God blesses them beyond their understanding.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I, as international students, lived for ten months in a Notre Dame apartment managed by Irish Gold Management, and our experience was amazing. The apartment came partially furnished, with laundry facilities available, and the rent included utilities and internet. Its location is excellent—you can walk to campus, and Trader Joe’s is just around the corner. Additionally, the entire team at Irish Gold Management was both friendly and professional, making our stay truly enjoyable. They made everything easy for us, and we never had any issues. It was a pleasure to live here during our time at Notre Dame, and I highly recommend it!

Positive experience: The place is great and has wonderful management. I have had issues with internet here and there but other than that they have done a great job helping with the problems we have and getting the job done quick and efficient!

They are also quick to respond to my emails. Other landlords in town do not even come close to being as responsible and caring as everyone in the office here.

Fantastic experience: I'm a student at Notre Dame, staying in the Bend apartments managed by Irish Gold Management. Till now, the experience is decent. The Bend is 1-2 miles from the university, but the main benefit is close to many grocery stores, food courts, and supermarkets. I usually walk to the campus, as I don't have a car, but you can use the shuttle by the Irish Gold Management called "The Lucky Bus." Also, you can take public transport after a 2-4-minute walk.

Fantastic experience: Living at the Notre Dame apartment managed by Irish Gold Management has been a wonderful experience. As an international student, the move-in process was incredibly smooth—there was no need to pay a deposit or other fees in advance, which made settling in stress-free. The monthly expenses are straightforward, covering only rent, renters’ insurance, and laundry fees, making it very affordable. The apartment itself is spacious and mostly furnished (you'll need to bring your own desk chair). The location is ideal, close to Trader Joe’s for convenient shopping, and only a few minutes' bike ride to campus. The management staff are exceptionally friendly and always willing to help with any issues. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Moved in a month ago and I must say I love the peace and calm environment it comes with. The management is really good at what they do and do get timely feedback incase of inquiries, their maintenance team is quick to respond to concerns and checking out the apartment in cases of repairs. Special appreciation to Carrie Pickens (the one I know from administration) for her love and dedication when working with us the tenants. She has a motherly love that you’ll not find everywhere more so when it comes to managers. I haven’t met the other team from administration but I must say they do a great job. It’s not the fancy kind of apartment but I mean it’s comfortable enough and worth the money. If they could only think about the EVS charging for the electric cars, then it will be a 10/10

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a resident at the Bend for almost two years now and honestly, I never want to leave!The Leasing/Marketing Coordinator Carrie has been helping me since I moved in and made the whole process so much easier and less stressful, I really appreciate that since I am a student and got really overwhelmed by the apartment search and process! I love the layout of The Bend, there’s an inclosed space to let your dogs run around, the apartments are just as nice if not nicer than any of the other nearby student or grad accommodations, and the bend is at a lower price point imo. Since we just changed ownership, I heard they’re gonna be making some exciting improvements to our facilities and outdoor area-and our amenities were already great so I can’t wait! One of the best parts is the location, the bend is like a three minute away from martins- as someone who didn’t have a car for so long, being able to walk to the grocery store or get some food on foot is important, and it’s a 10min walk to campus- not bad at all! I’m so grateful I found The Bend, I feel like I have a real home in South Bend now. I’d 10/10 recommend The Bend!

They have been extremely accommodating when we have had to sublease for the summer and their staff is readily available through email and phone call. He made sure someone can come in to fix it. After a little chat, he literally fixed the problem for us while on the phone. Positive experience: Well we lived here for 13 months. Don’t expect something fancy here , it’s the basic . Good thing is , your apartment is furnished & also very close to Notre Dame , 15 minutes walk to be specific. Public transportation is just next to your door, which is free for Notre Dame students. Traders joes & eddy street commons not so far from here . You will get a pleasant neighborhood, but don’t walk around at midnight, also your bathtub & sink might get clogged frequently. In winter your electricity bill might be even higher , which is high in summer too , compared to other places . Don’t get upset seeing old furnishings & fittings, this is what you are paying for . I heard they have started renovation, so finger crossed. During our stay they provided other utilities free of cost . The new management keeping things organized, which I appreciate. They refund our security deposits within 2 months since we left & the deduction amount satisfied us . If you want to minimize your cost during your Notre Dame time with a basic package , this is a good place to be .

Fantastic experience: I've lived with IrishGold for over two years, all during graduate school at ND. The properties are all located close to ND and have been recently renovated. I've lived in two of their houses, and they were both nicer than most of the off-campus options for students. I want to particularly shout-out the maintenance staff, Terry (and his son, Joe), for taking such good care of these properties, and for being nice people. The admin staff (Amber, Rachel, Becky) are responsive and helpful, as well as accommodating. I recommend IrishGold for undergrads who want a good off-campus experience, or for graduate students who want to remain close to campus.
