Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience. I decided not to move forward with my lease well before move-in; I never received keys or took possession of the apartment. The unit was re-rented for the same move-in date and the same rent, yet management still attempted to keep my first month's rent. It felt like they were more interested in holding onto my money than resolving the situation fairly. Debbie Rubin was especially rude and unprofessional throughout the process. Although I ultimately received a refund, it only happened after significant research/effort on my part. I would encourage prospective tenants to carefully review all lease terms and keep thorough records of every communication.

Fantastic experience: Two weeks into searching an apartment. I was ready to move everything into storage and become a nomad on the streets of NYC. With the current housing market, the outbidding and the rental wars of clicking request a tour on street easy in the middle of the night faster then your neighbor is not for the faint of heart However, with that being said working with Israel from ERNY realty was hands down the best choice. Not only did he respond quickly. His follow up and execution is 10 out of 10. I placed a lot of trust into this realty and it paid off ! . Thank you Israel for being awesome, transparent and honest!

She is kind, responsive, and made sure that all of our questions were answered. We were in contact with several agents throughout this process but she was the only one that really had some urgency about herself and didn’t leave us waiting days for help. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that is looking to be handled with care.

Negative experience: I had a creepy and violating experience with their agent, Levi Cohen, who hit on me and kept pressuring me for physical contact. As soon as I met him outside of our first listing in Brooklyn, he approached me for a hug. I was confused and overwhelmed. My priority was to find my next home, and sure, this was a rather "friendly" realtor, I thought, at the beginning. He repeated this behavior at each of the 3 listings we saw, repeatedly initiating hugs and joking around asking me why I didn't enthusiastically respond to his bids for physical touch. At some point, we were in conversation, and he put his hand directly on my chest to tell me "I can tell you're a good person." By the time we got to the third listing, I told him that I did not feel comfortable with the way he had put his hand on my chest at the second listing. He apologized. Someone who has been trusted to help you find a new home should take their position of authority and experience seriously. It's a professional interaction and this interaction was HIGHLY inappropriate, unprofessional to the highest degree, and sloppy. I felt pressured into a deposit on the last place, which I later was able to get refunded. I called and spoke with Jake Potash at Evergreen, who agreed to refund me the deposit immediately, but was reluctant to share Levi's professional license number. It was, to say the least, traumatizing, gross, and a reflection of the kind of realtors that Evergreen Realty is okay with not only hiring, but also retaining -- as I see that more than a year after this behavior was reported, he is still on the team. Red flag all around. I wouldn't be surprised if these reviews were incentivized by the agency or fake. My experience was in June 2024. I'm looking to move again, and felt like I should share my experience for the benefit of other people considering Evergreen Realty, especially young women.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, smooth, and quick rental process! Israel found us the perfect apartment on Tuesday, and we signed the lease Wednesday. I really really appreciate their promptness! Apartments looked great and everyone I've spoken to at Evergreen has been very sweet and helpful. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: ok so I was like....a couple weeks deep into my apartment search after moving back here from LA. It sucked, I was over it. Israel happened to call me and he asked if I still wanted to see an apt I had contacted him about. I immeditately started bitching about the process here and how it's so frustrating and how I was over it I wasn't doing it anymoreeeeee. He was like "NICCOLE NICCOLE NICCOLE STOP STOP STOP." THEN the man proceeded to: 1. Talk me down from the ledge. I was going to cancel all showings and take a break. The system was beating me down! Then! he: 2. Help me apply, making sure it was polished and thorough so I could have a had a strong application. THEN! the next day! He: 3. Showed me a different unit. When we had talked on the phone I told him what I was looking for. So when I walked into this unit I was like "wait this one is different but GREAT" SO ANYWAY I'm moving into a great place soon Thank you Israel for pushing me to apply! Sending everyone to you lol THANK UUUUUU

Fantastic experience: I’m hoping google doesn’t have a character limit because I have a lot to say about my experience renting an apartment with Haley Sinopoli. I have spent the past month working with a dozen realtors/brokers trying to find an apartment and the process could only be described as hellish. Between unanswered requests to view units, being sent apartments exceedingly out of budget in locations we weren’t interested in, to scammy requests for various deposits and pressure tactics, this move was most discouraging in my 3 years of living in NYC. From the jump, Haley was responsive and transparent - I’ve never waited longer than 15 minutes for a response from her regardless of the time of day. She was incredibly accommodating - providing measurements, negotiating lease duration, and an early move in date. Most of all, she was incredibly patient and helpful - coordinating an application between 4 people plus guarantors is no simple feat and she navigated it like a pro. I’m telling you as someone who has spent thousands of dollars on brokers fees, I’ve never worked with someone as receptive to our needs/concerns as Haley. Give this girl a raise now!!!

Negative experience: Review of Agent Chris – Discriminatory, Dishonest, and Unprofessional I had an extremely disappointing and disturbing experience with an agent named Chris, who showed me a unit at 880 Dekalb Ave. From the very beginning, he was rude, aggressive, and made me feel uncomfortable. At one point, he even said to me, “I treat people like you,”—a deeply offensive and discriminatory remark that came off as both racist and xenophobic. He told me a specific unit was available, charged me a $20 application fee, and then later informed me that the unit was no longer on the market. Instead of taking responsibility, he tried to push a completely different unit that I never wanted in the first place. When I asked for a refund, he refused and made it clear he had no intention of helping me. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and he simply brushed it off and continued trying to get me to rent something I didn’t want. The entire experience felt like a scam—completely irrational, dishonest, and disrespectful. If you’re considering working with this company or visiting 880 Dekalb Ave, I strongly suggest you stay away from this agent. People like Chris should not be dealing with the public. I’m posting this review to warn others and to demand accountability for the way I was treated.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best agency I’ve worked with over 15 years of renting apartments in ny. A special shout out to Israel who is genuine, down to earth, and honest. Super communicative and responded quickly. He put a lot of effort into negotiating parts of the lease as well. I even received a new video of the apartment the day after I signed the lease just to show how the light looked at a different time of day. It was honestly a great experience and I highly recommend!

Negative experience: Don’t know if these reviews on here are fake or what but terrible service. Particularly tried to get an apartment with Levi Cohen. He and this realty are discriminating against persons with government vouchers. How do you sleep at night knowing there are homeless people trying to find an apartment and you are adding to the problem? I will be taking legal action against you.
