Negative experience: As an approved guarantor, and a professional myself, I have to say I am appalled by the actions of Eric Eliyahu. He has been unprofessional, unethical and down right rude. The application process has been a nightmare with him. The unanswered phone calls, the “read” messages ignored and/or no response for days, and the personal information that has NO bearing on renting an apartment !! In a world that is so hard for most as it is, this person decided to string these young adults along for his own satisfaction. Only to deny them because “his feelings were hurt”! Comical ! He’s on a power trip. I can only assume that this guy was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and never had to WORK for things in life. These were young adults, doing the right thing. They work hard AND steadily. They have an impeccable rental history as well as, employment history. As a guarantor, I had no problem assisting with this due to the faith I have in them. Mr. Eliyahu has seemed to have forgotten when he was their age. I’m confident someone gave him a chance at some point, as most people do. You have to start somewhere in order to advance in life altogether. He should be ashamed of himself for his actions and more so for his judgement of people. In closing, we’re so very pleased with the choice we made ! So very grateful for the opportunity we were given. Mr. Eliyahu, you desperately need a lesson in humanity. Make it a great day !

Negative experience: Eric Eliyahu is the worst realtor we have ever dealt with. Unresponsive, rude, and all around unprofessional. The company seems like a scam. They collect as much info from all the applications they get, take MULTIPLE good faith deposits at the same time for the same unit whilst listing and delisting it every other day to gather as much information from clients as possible, and string you along for weeks. And when you call the main office for help, they are just as rude and unprofessional. Will be reporting this company to Streeteasy and the state of NYC

Fantastic experience: I recently used Unit 5 NY to secure my new apartment, and the experience was fantastic. I had the pleasure of working with Jason, and he was absolutely wonderful. He is incredibly knowledgeable, super responsive, and made sure everything was taken care of in a timely manner. He made the whole process stress-free. I highly recommend Jason and Unit 5 NY!

Negative experience: Unresponsive, called this place, the person barely speaks English and don’t really understand how to work with a client lol Do not recommend, stay away!

Negative experience: If you want the worst experience in New York City for finding an apartment you got the right place!!! Eric was truly the most unprofessional real estate broker imaginable! Like a caricature of an evil business man: rude, inattentive and disrespectful. I think his own personal prejudices played a huge part in why we weren’t approved for an apartment considering our credit admittedly wasn’t the best but we had a guarantor and 3 people making more than enough income. He was invasive and strung us along for weeks, despicable business practices, even worse person. In a world where things are already hard, Eric you toyed with us for your own enjoyment to watch us scrap and scrape all to know at the end you would say no to something that is a basic human right, having a roof over our heads.

Negative experience: Where to even begin with this experience that would sum up how awful it was? Coming out empty handed after a two week battle to even get a reliable and attentive response from leasing agent, Eric Eliyahu. Not only does Eric not answer the phone, he also has his read receipts on so you can see exactly when he decided to ignore you. This process began on 4/13 when myself and my two roommates applied for an apartment, put down $1000 fora good faith deposit and got together all of the EXTENSIVE documents Unit 5 asks you for, which is no issue as I do prefer a management company who dots their i's and crosses their t's. The issue began right after this when we would try establish communication between ourselves & Unit 5's management through Eric, who would never answer his phone during business hours and then would reply in vague texts asking for more and more and more information, despite having all information for the three individuals AND OUR GUARANTOR besides our blood types. This has all come to a head today (4/22; 9 days after we applied mind you) when management came back with even more questions despite the fact that, though we are not the most well off applicants, we put in our deposit, paid our application fees and had a guarantor that makes more than enough money to have been a non-issue for a management company with any sense, we were denied because in Eric's own words via a text message (because he did call me to discuss but hang up after only a few rings, likely to not have to have an adult conversation on the phone) "Management will not be pressured into making a decision," AND "they were on the fence about you all and this pushed them to deny you." "This" meaning a disgruntled and frustrated applicant wanting an answer to a yes or no question after MORE THAN A WEEK OF NO PROGRESS BEING MADE. Dangling an apartment in front of three hard working individuals and then trying to berate them for needing answers in regards to housing is incredibly unprofessional and I am glad they denied (the official reasoning Eric gave was 'bad credit' but the truth is they were toying with us the whole time and they know it) We will give our hard earned money to realtors who do not act as though peoples livelihood's are play things. Find alternative real estate brokers. I'd give y'all zero stars but at least you gave our money back without playing games so one star for you.

Negative experience: Scheduled a 10 am appointment at 99 weirfield with Eric. No one showed up or answered our emails/text. Called out of work for nothing.
