Fantastic experience: I have worked with David, Jennine and the team at Secure One for a couple of years now and would highly recommend them to anyone. I now live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I needed help renting out my house in Westlake VIllage. They did a good job preparing the house to rent, helped us find a landscaper to maintain the yard etc. They found us a good tenant and managed the rental process well. After the renters moved out, we decided to sell and Jennine helped us get contractors to install new windows and upgrade the house to get the best price. They got us multiple bids and worked with the contractors to make sure the work was done well. David managed to get us multiple buyers, and we sold the property for well above the listing price. Fantastic experience: I was a tenant for one of Secure One's properties in Oak Park, CA from June 15, 2018 until yesterday. Secure One was the best property management company I have ever dealt with as either a tenant or landlord. Over my 50 years, I have been a tenant and landlord many times. I have never experienced such professionalism in a property manager as I experienced with Secure One. They understand that the relationship between the landlord and tenant works best when it is not adversarial. They communicated clearly. They were responsive. Whenever there was a problem with the property, they got it fixed asap. The move in and move out instructions were fair and clear. And Britt Kidd specifically was a joy to work with. I could not have been happier.

Fantastic experience: I cannot speak more highly of Secure One. They managed our property in Thousand Oaks for over 6-years. We found them after a terrible 2-year experience with another property management company who practiced poor bookkeeping, never sent payments, and charged us much more monthly for fewer services (and they were family members of ours no less!). Secure One was a breath of fresh air. With Secure One we always had tenants, and never went a month without one. We only changed tenants once, but never went a month without rent payment. Secure One is always in constant communication, alerting us immediately for any fixes or upkeep that need doing. They send out a monthly newsletter that provides excellent information for landlords and real estate trends. They are always timely with end of month information and have thorough bookkeeping. They have online access to documents. They are consummate professionals. You can always get a hold of any one of the team members in this well-run family business. Unfortunately the time came for us to sell our property which meant the end of our relationship with Secure One. David Kidd (owner) saved us blood, sweat, tears, and money by helping us offer the home to the current tenants and helping us sell to them. This meant our realtor fees were greatly reduced and we had no one better than the Secure One owner representing us in a home he knew well. He did this sale for us after-hours, and because of his stellar work ethic we closed escrow early and without a hitch. I wish more companies were like Service One. We are forever grateful and indebted to them for their years of service to us and our tenants.

They made being a landlord a very pleasant experience, by handling everything for us, including arranging for any repairs or maintenance required, doing periodic inspections and collecting the rent. Negative experience: Worst customer service. I called to view a property in the area and was asked 20 questions before the person even said hello. After answering all the questions I was told I would be given a call back- I waited patiently and after 30 mins I call again to follow up and Susan informed me that I didn't answer one question to their standard, so I can't see the the house. It would've been nice to call me instead of me waiting around the neighborhood. I insisted that I still would like to see the house- even saying If the house is perfect for my family I can pay 1 year up front- she declined and said they don't do that as a company. I have been a license real estate agent since 2009 with Rodeo Realty, and one thing I have learned is everything is negotiable and every owner would LOVE a full year rent upfront. The customer service I received was rude, inconsiderate and I felt very "brushed off". I would never hire this company for my own personal investment properties.

Positive experience: This was my first time renting a home and I must say they did a fantastic job. I didn't even live in the area but they took care of everything. They took care of my property for 11 years and in the end when I sold it they took care of that too. They are a great team

Fantastic experience: For seven years, Secure One did an outstanding job managing our rental property in Thousand Oaks. We worked mostly with Maryam. She acted quickly on any issues and maintained excellent communication with tenants and with us (the owners in Oregon). Secure One was very professional and pleasant in every way. Recently, being retired and remaining in Oregon, we decided to sell the property and engaged Secure One as our seller’s agent. Now, we would work with David. We did not have to go onto the open market because our tenants wanted to buy the home and readily agreed also to appoint Secure One as their buyer’s agent. (This joint appointment by both seller and buyer saved significant dollars.) David was terrific in working with both parties, plus all the intermediaries – inspectors, repair people, escrow officers et al – to accomplish the transaction. So, both as property manager and as real estate agent, Secure One has served us with distinction. In both capacities, we recommend them highly.

Fantastic experience: We chose Secure One to manage all 6 of our single family rental homes, and they honestly did a fantastic job. We recently sold the properties, but for the several years prior, they were always extremely professional and promptly handled any unexpected issues that came up. Jennine and the rest of the Secure One staff are very reliable and friendly. All of the financial statements were organized and sent via email. All of the tenants that they found were high quality and well-screened. When it came time to sell the properties, David did a great job and made the entire process extremely easy. We highly recommend Secure One as a management company. They really did make everything run smoothly.

Negative experience: Called Susan about a property rental that I was interested in. Long story short it seems she did everything possible to avoid showing the house to me. At the end of the conversation, she asked for pictures of our pet to let the homeowner approve it. No response to email and no call back after six days! Very unprofessional and it just seems so counter productive to leave more than qualified tenants hanging. Find someone else that appreciates your business.

Fantastic experience: As long time renters Secure One has been the best company we've ever rented from! Every time we had a problem (even on the weekends) they responded promptly and had the problems fixed asap. They were kind, professional, and prompt on every occasion which surprisingly enough is hard to find when as a renter you pretty much only call the landlord/management company when there are problems. We just bought a house and they even worked with us on the 10 days of overlap that we needed to extend beyond our lease in order to move into our new home.
