Experiencia fantástica: We recently renewed our lease for a second year with Barnes and Phillips and we are beyond happy . I read many reviews about them not renewing peoples leases or skyrocketing rent . We had the exact opposite experience. Our rent stayed the same and they renewed it with a simple process. The front office lady Michelle is the absolute sweetest and always answers the phone kindly and has tackled any problem or question I had. Jim who showed us the home in the beginning is the kindest. He always kept us updated on the process and was happy to help and he's also quite funny ! John the maintenance guy has handled any issues promptly and professionally. They have never entered the home without asking like some reviews stated. We are beyond happy with our experience, highly recommend them and will happily renew as long as they let us . Great down home call mpany that takes good care of their tenants!

Experiencia negativa: We always paid on time and paid all increases! But this property management is terribly bad communication or care of property! After hurricane Ian they had no responsibility for property and we tenants did of clean up. I even shoveled the pool of debris before the pool company would even touch it! Renters be very aware of renting from this agency. The maintenance guy John is very rude and unfriendly! Front desk Michelle is very rude when paying rent like you are an inconvenience for her! Thank goodness we moved away from their bad business practices and helped keep new renters from getting involved with them! The deep creek house on Rosamond owner and property management horrible rented it over 2 yrs while forever home was being built rent went from $2500 to $3200 per month and now they want to charge $3400 good luck getting that! Due to not finding anyone to rent from them they are ddropping rent this is their karma for treating us so horrible

Experiencia negativa: Called to get some information about a rental and the lady (I believe Michelle was her name) was very rude and wanted no part of speaking to me or answering any questions I had. She was extremely unprofessional and I’m shocked that a business would have someone like that answering their phones. I’ve managed several businesses and would never employee someone who spoke to my customers like that!!

Since we live out of town, Wayne had to do extra work to make this all happen and he did it gladly, without complaining. I definitely would recommend him and the agency for their hard, honest work.

Experiencia negativa: This place is very unprofessional, called them while we where still in Illinois and talked to A guy named Bryce about some property we were interested in and gave him all of our information and he never called us back so I called him again and he finally answered and told us to fill out an application for a rental property (that he already knew was rented) and after we sent him the application and tried to call him back we did not receive an answer or a phone call back, so we decided to drive down to Florida to look at places and stopped at Barnes and Phillips to talk to Bryce and they said he wasn't there (He was in the back), so another gentlemen came out and spoke with us and took some information from us and said he would call us back on Monday and we never heard a word from him or Barnes and Phillips ever again but thats ok because I'm leaving this review here to let people know not to work with these people as unprofessional as they are, I have also left a couple reviews elsewhere and told the realtor that was able to help us that they are hands down the worst realtor company in Charlotte County!!

Experiencia negativa: Stay away from Barnes and Phillips in Port Charlotte. These people raise rents often, and will lie to keep your security deposit. I talked with multiple people and sent emails. They are unethical. Do not do business with them unless you want to be screwed over. Beware!

Experiencia negativa: They rarely get back to you. Website is not user friendly. The market here in Charlotte County/ Sarasota County is booming, yet I'm still waiting (3 months and counting).

Experiencia negativa: This establishment should have been brought up on criminal charges three years ago when I discovered that they stole money from my dear lady friend. I fired them over the phone. I called this sociopath who stated he was the boss, but later turned out to be only a handyman. We argued heatedly and then he screamed at me...and then hung up. He was a gatekeeper and refused to let me speak to the owner. This guy representing B&P said I couldn't fire them because my name wasn't on the contract; but they did indeed cancel our contract after I put the fear of God in him on an immediate follow up phone call to the alleged principal owner. This company has been in business with my friend since she bought the house in 1989. The old management were wonderful, but not their replacement. If someone represents himself as an agent of a business and then wrongs you, his employer is liable because he acted as an agent of said business. They, as a company are liable. B and P owes my friend a lot of money for non-payment of rents, security deposits collected by them, as well as the fraudulent repair deductions from money held in trust by them. We had to hire an attorney to evict the people B and P placed in this home due to nonpayment of rent for more than six months and damage to property. My friend was too distraught to go after Barnes and Phillip's. She lives in New York and has many pressing concerns besides this one, like taking care of her family as a single mother. Companies like Barnes and Phillip's victimize others like this every day. They repeatedly asked her for more money or the house would fall into disrepair. Then I stepped in. [ IMPORTANT NOTE*****Our problems are ONLY with the new management that was in place then... three years ago*****. ] I demanded a line item accounting of their expenses. I was informed I would need to pay them to send us the documents. They never sent the itemized statements nor the large volume of papers we should pay for. We just needed the line items yet they attempted to extort more money. They knew we were going after them legally. When confronted, their response was stonewalling and lame excuses and then screaming at me by this so called "handyman" in their employ. I may add it to this review once it is found. Barnes and Phillip's are listed in the 2019 Community Guide and Business Directory under Real Estate. Let the Chamber know what you think of this company if you have been victimized by them as well as any government agencies in Florida who regulate Property Managers. Contact the District Attorney if the offense was especially heinous. If I cheated someone like they cheated this single Mom, I would go into hiding. They had no shame nor fear. Hopefully the company has cleaned up their act. **** This review is kinder than they deserve. I let them stay in business. They cannot delete your comments here, so exercise your right to free speech if you need to. I defended that same free speech by serving in the military for you and I defend it still.****

Experiencia fantástica: They are a good rental company. They do a good job taking care of the properties and have a 24 hour emergency line. The rental houses give you the freedom of renting but the privacy of owning a home.

Everyone we have worked with at BP has always been very professional and helpful. We also appreciate the quick response time from their staff, even after hours and on weekends!

Experiencia negativa: Absolute terrible experience leasing from these people. Would give 0 stars if possible. Everyone you deal with is rude or incompetent... Or in my experience, both! 1yr in they would not renew the lease and forced me to move with no more than a 30 day notice and no other reason than "they are not renewing your lease". Even had the audacity to try and show the property while I was still in it! Also be aware of the excessive fees they come up with to short your security deposit! $200 "cleaning fee", when I left the place spotless and far cleaner than when I took tenancy. This place is an absolute joke, do yourself a favor and save money and headaches by dealing with anyone else. Don't do ANY business with Barnes and Phillips or you'll be sorry you did! I sure was...

Experiencia negativa: Don't give these people any money. The true victims are the homeowners of the properties B&P manages ... and they have no idea. Try renting from B&P once and see if you would want them managing your property. It's very simple... or better yet call JON at B&P, check out his bright and cheery attitude...:) I'm sure everyone will be beating down his door for service in no time!

Experiencia negativa: If I could give a negative 5, I would. I used this company to manage my home. They did not check on the tenants regularly in the year that it was rented. As far as I know, they only went once at my insistence. I was left with a roach infested, filthy, smelly home with damaged appliances and dog urine soaked flooring. They hired a company to do a “deep clean “. That took almost half the deposit money and the cleaners ruined the carpet. I had to replace two rooms of flooring. I specifically said no smoking in the house - walls were yellowed from heavy smokers. Things I pointed out as damage were attributed to normal wear and tear. Sure, doesn’t everyone pull off closet doors and ceramic tiles?!? It took months to get rid of the roaches. Now that I am living in the house once again, I find a new surprise of damage every day. I lost over $15,000 by having them “manage” my property. I get nightmares every time I think of them!

We made a phone call to Wayne Rose at Barnes and Phillips Real Estate and have been more than taken care of through the whole process. Being first time home buyers, we knew we would need help. Wayne showed us the market, reviewed our "budget" and helped us pick out our dream home! We found a home, made an offer, closed and moved-in within 3 months! What a whirlwind, but we couldn't have felt confident without Barnes and Phillips Real Estate and their connections within the community!

Experiencia negativa: Worst than living on the street, would never rent from or even think about sending anybody to this "company" had a lease and lived in one of the properties "managed" by them for 3 years never missed a payment left said property in better condition then when I moved in. I moved out of state for work get a certified letter that says not only are they gonna keep my deposit but that I owe them money for cleaning of the floors that I stated needed to be done when I moved in. Always read the fine print.
