Fantastic experience: I was referred to Homegrown (Kathleen and Amanda) by a family member. These are the women you want to have as your Realtors. Their only passion is that you (their client) are happy and informed. They worked really hard to sell our home in the winter (my choice) and during a huge snow and ice event. It sold quickly which was absolutely due to them. Kathleen recommended we stage the empty house. I was against it. But you don't hire a Realtor and then disregard their advice. It was done quickly and tastefully. There is no doubt that the house sold significantly over asking price due to the staging. I really struck the Lottery when I met Kathleen and Amanda. TL;DR — our choice to use Kathleen and Amanda to sell our $1.2M+ home quickly and FROM OUT OF STATE WITHOUT BEING PRESENT FOR A SINGLE MOMENT OF PREP AND SHOWING was the best decision we could have made. We got multiple offers and were on the market for ONLY 2 DAYS before offers, their guidance was spot on. They far surpassed their promise of full service overdelivering and setting our expectations appropriately. The team took care of EVERYTHING, the tiniest detail to the largest hurdle. Struck by family tragedy we moved very quickly meaning we were out of state for the entire prep and listing process. They got it all done without hiccup. They took care of all the small details like paint removal and garage door repair without pause (other teams let us know details like that were out of their purview and were unwilling to compromise despite the fact they were “well known in the area”. To further our amazement the team found a way to fix our cracked transom window that a window company had told us was unrepairable and we needed to contact the manufacturer. TO TOP IT OFF THE TEAM USES AND RECOMMENDS EXTREMELY CAPABLE VUT AFFORDABLE AND FAIRLY PRICED CONTRACTORS!!! The first few repairs/upgrades we got our own quotes to compare to theirs, we stopped doing that after the first 3 quotes because theirs were SOOO much better than ours. We did have some contractors we personally used in the past who performed some prep work AS I SAID THE TEAM IS FULL SERVICE — they never had issue with this and took over communication, management, and updates with these unknown-to-them contractors. ALL aspects. Quote, planning, direction, execution, and final review of performed work. I could go on and on and on and on in even more detail and depth as to exactly how wonderful Amanda and Kathleen truly are. They are amazing to work with and amazing people in general. They were understanding of our communication delays amidst all the out-of-state moving and logistics. They were patient. In summary the are EXTRAORDINARY which is hard to find in general let alone during the holiday season and from afar. If you are reading this choose The McDonald Etro team. Fantastic experience: Looking to purchase our first home in Virginia at the start of 2021 was stressful to say the least. My fiancé and I spent countless hours driving around the different neighborhoods of Northern Virginia and what felt like days on Zillow sifting through potential homes. The stress continued to build as we approached open house after open house just to get a feel for what our budget would get us. The surrounding streets were packed with parked cars and lines of people stretching around the block gave us the feeling that this would be next to impossible.
