Fantastic experience: Tony Hall & Associates is a wonderful, full service, real estate office located in Chapel Hill North Carolina. They have two full-time office staff that are very efficient and helpful. Great office to work with when buying or selling a home!

Negative experience: The property at 101 Burnwood CT just came up to the market, I was very interested in it. I texted a message to the listing agent Tony Hall cell phone number. But I did not receive any response in a day, until I called the office and complained, he called me back from the cell phone number that I texted to. He told me he has already got multiple offers in hand. When I asked him if he received my text message, he said never. Either it was not true or his cell phone mailbox was not functioning. The lack of response to a seriously interested buyer's request is not acceptable as the list agent, which resulted in a loss of opportunity for the seller to get the best offer. I would never consider Tony Hall to be my list agent.

Negative experience: I am not a person who generally fills out online reviews of companies and services, especially ones of a negative tone, but I feel this is different. I am sorry to have to write this review for Tony Hall and Associates, but I feel it's important that perspective clients be made aware of a situation that occurred but a few hours ago. I was ready to make an offer on a property being represented by Jaye Kreller, one of Tony Hall's realtors. My realtor from Caldwell Banker, was helping me to purchase a property with the sole intention of renting it out as an investment property. After looking at a few locations, I found one I was very interested in, and it was represented by Tony Hall and Associates. It all came down to whether or not I would be able to legally rent the property as per occupancy rates and rules set forth by the HOA. We told Ms Kreller that I was ready to make a very serious offer, but that I first needed to be assured that it could be rented. This was late Thursday. Ms Kreller made no attempt to find out, something, quite honestly, she should have already known from the day she signed this seller on to be her client. When it became apparent that Ms Kreller had no intentions of finding out what I needed to know, my realtor attempted to contact neighborhood's HOA directly for herself. Unfortunately, she was told they were already closed until Monday morning. This was late Friday. Without giving much thought as to her client's best intentions, and knowing someone else was already interested, Jaye Kreller never bothered to inform the seller that there was another seriously interested buyer. I viewed the property again on Saturday, and we once again told Jaye Kreller that we were going to make a full price offer as soon as we knew that the property could be rented out. Late Sunday afternoon, I received the news that the seller accepted an offer from another buyer, we never got the opportunity to make any offer. Why should all this matter? Because it is obvious that this realtor didn't have her client's best interest at heart. Whether we got into a bidding scenario with another potential buyer and the selling price increased a few thousand dollars more or not, it's obviously she couldn't care. But if it was your property being sold, that extra money would be pretty darn important. I find it hard to believe the seller wouldn't have waited an extra 18 hours and come Monday morning, find out if there were two prospective buyers (much preferred), or only one. What would you rather have? So today (Monday), I very calmly contacted Tony Hall himself to let him know of the situation. My initial thought was not to blame him, especially since how could he be aware of all the actions of his employees, except that when I explained what transpired, it quickly fell on deaf ears. He obviously doesn't care. Is this who you really want representing the sale of possibly your biggest asset? I'd think twice.

Whenever there was an issue--rare as they were--I knew that a maintenance request was going to be answered and fulfilled without fail. Tony is also incredibly reasonable. I knew our relationship was based on mutual respect, wherein I paid him in a timely manner and took good care of his house while he made sure my stay in Chapel Hill was great. I'd trust Tony any day, and if I ever get to come back to Chapel Hill, I'm skipping every other spot to go to him, first!

Fantastic experience: Chris Culbreth was an absolute pleasure to work with for our first home buying experience. After our first meeting, Chris immediately understood the type of home and neighborhood we wanted. He never tried to push us over budget and always gave his honest opinion on the houses we viewed. My wife and I benefited from Chris' experience with renovations and older homes, having updated several of his own properties. Throughout the entire process, I always felt that Chris had our best interest in mind. Unfortunately, the seller's agents were often slow to respond and overall difficult to deal with but Chris was persistent and worked diligently to finish the deal under a tight 30 day closing period. Although I'm sure our budget was at the lower end of Chris' clients, I felt like we received the same level of service and attention as clients purchasing much more expensive homes. I would absolutely recommend working with Chris Culbreth for your real estate needs.

Fantastic experience: Tammi Thornton is AMAZING! We moved from out of state, and she helped us find a house and went WAAAAY ABOVE AND BEYOND! Words cannot adequately express how grateful we are for all that she's done for us. We only had two weeks to be here in person before it was time to move. She helped us find local financing. She pulled together a ton of houses for us to look through and even found several more during our pre-move visit. Then once we found a house we wanted she stayed on top of EVERYTHING for us since we couldn't be here in person to actually complete the sale. Tammi was super patient through all of our questions being first time home buyers, and had a whole list of people to handle things like inspection, paperwork - you name it, she had it covered.
